Teed off Wednesday morning around 10:30 and finished in about 4.5 hours. The greens have recovered pretty good after aerating two weeks ago. The greens rolled mostly smooth with medium/fast pace and held shots. The fairways were mostly good with some thin spots. The rough was good around the greens and mostly good along the fairways with a few thin/bare spots. The bunkers were mostly good. I was in 3 greenside bunkers of which two were good and one the sand was thin and a bit compacted. The tee boxes were fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness and a few were a bit chewed up where the the tee markers had been placed. Overall the conditions were pretty good. The staff was friendly.

Had a late tee time yesterday, ca. 12:50 pm. Big mistake. Started on time. But, I knew it was a bad sign when we waited for 10 minutes on the #2 tee box, a par 4. Pace was reduced to 3 holes an hour. Course was in good shape, but we had no rhythm as long waits in between shots. I lost focus. Group behind us was impatient and on our heels, but nothing we could do about it. By the #9 tee box, nearly 3 hours later, we had enough of the crawl, so all 4 of us left the course. We were not going to finish before dark. Got to start in the morning for a tolerable pace.

Played on 9/10 12pm teetime $43 on golfnow. POP 4:20 The course is in good condition overall with no particular weak areas. Tee boxes were fine, fairly level with some divot damage. Fairways have good coverage with little bare spots. Rough is same but with a little more bare spots than the fairway. Greens were smooth for the most part with no bare spots, except with some greens having a little more unrepaired ball marks than others. I would say 10 on the stimp. Bunkers had good amount of sand. There are a lot of water hazard/lakes, fairly clean, no smell. 2 of the water hazards were drained 12th hole and between 13th and 14th. I think Navy is one of the best designed golf course around in regards to being fun for all skill levels. Highly recommended.

100% agree with NutNButCup’s recent review. Course is in good shape right now, and the greens were just trimmed, so a tiny bit bumpy, but atill actually rolls good, med-fast paced. And the greens here are the obvious defense. Course is faily generous off the tee to most Par 4 and 5’s. But pretty much all he greens are huge here, with 2, 3, or even 4 undulations on all the greens! But it’s really fun to play. Hitting wedges and 9 irons into Par 4’s here is absolutely the play.

POP is usually good here. We played at 4:20 POP, on a fairly busy afternoon.
Recommend.

Teed off Wednesday morning about 10:15 and finished in 4:40. The greens were in pretty good condition. The had been verticut which caused a few bobbles but overall the greens ran fairly smooth, held shots, and rolled with medium/fast speed. The fairways were primarily good with a few thin spots scattered about. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots and not too penal. The bunkers were in good condition. The tee boxes were fair to good mostly due to some mild unlevelness.

Destroyer is a good course with a variety of holes and nice practice area which includes a practice chipping green with bunker. The staff is friendly.

Teed off Wednesday morning about 10:30 and finished in 4:45. The greens were in overall good shape. They rolled mostly smooth, medium/fast speed, and held shots. The greens were a little bumpy in spots. The fairways were pretty good with some thin spots. The rough was good with a few thin/bare spots and not to long. The bunkers were a little crusty and compacted but playable. The tee boxes were good. Some tee boxes have some mild unlevelness depending were the tee markers are set. Overall the course conditions are pretty good considering the heat this summer.

Navy Destroyer is a solid track with nice variety. Signs were posted advertising for online tee times visit GOLFNOW.com. The staff is friendly.

Navy is always in great shape! Highly recommend right now. I love the layout. The greens are some of the largest/trickiest out there. We tee’d off at 11am on Thurs 8/2, with a POP of about 4:45. Very slow out there. The back up on the 9th tee was 4 groups deep. It opened up after the 25 minute break in the round, but borderline unacceptable. No marshall around. Tee boxes were flat, level, and fine. Fairways were excellent. Actually kinda soft, so not much roll out on big hits. The rough was very playable, and not penal. Some great lies in the rough. The traps were all fine. Decent sand, and people rake them here. The greens were great! Fast, undulating, and smooth. The greens are one of the defenses of the course here. Get on a wrong tier, and it could get rough, haha! Great course, in great shape. Normally POP isn’t an issue. I won’t hold it against them. Highly recommend.

Fun day at at Navy Destroyer Course today. Greens were in great shape rolling 10/11. Fairways amd rough were in good shape also despite heat and now being summer. Tee boxes level and average divot damage. Was in a few traps and sand had good coverage. POP was 4 hrs. Only big negative was some parts of course were damp and overwatered but understnadable because of heat.

Layout is relatively flat with the windy back 9.

Cannot wait to return!
