Played here today, Wednesday, 6/29 and the course is in excellent condition. From tee through green I would rate this course a 9 for a public course. The only draw back was that the greens were a little slow and that may have been because of the early hour I played. Our 3some teed off at 6:50 and finished at 10:15, so pace of play was excellent. The greens are smooth and receptive. The fairways are great and allow for good roll. I payed $50.00 for green fee, cart and a hamburger after the round. The staff in the proshop and restaurant were terrific. The course is a great combination of short par 4s with challenging approach shots, long par 4s, longish par 3’s with 2 easy par 5’s and 2 more difficult par 5’s. If you get down this way give this course a chance.

Excellent golf course. Worth the drive from anywhere in S CA. Friendly staff; new golf cars with GPS that actually work; great rates and specials. While the course is short in comparison to many others, the layout through the hills and trees and the speed of the greens, will more than make up for lack of distance. If you love/like golf and enjoy traveling to other courses, than put this one on your list. It is also only minutes off the 5 in San Juan Capistrano. Course seems popular with many locals, so suggest you get an early tee time and this will also help avoid the breeze coming in from the ocean later in the morning and afternoon. Enjoy it, we did.

Played today (4/12) and the greens are still recovering from being punched. Greens still rolled well for the shape they were in and held the ball well. Tee boxes need some work to level them out as the lack of flat teeing areas made life a bit tough at times. Fairways should be getting some TLC sometime soon as they had marked areas as ground under repair. I will have to play this again when the greens heal up and are back to the pace people in the area spoke of.

Played 3/29. SJH continues to be a solid public course. Greens very good. Everything else acceptable. New clubhouse is another great step forward.

Played after a long absence. Always enjoy it, excellent greens, decent fairways, level tee boxes and now they've finally brought the sand traps up to par. Staff is great. Only complaint is the 17th fairway-it was freshly punched last summer and it was punched today. One of my favorites which I'll play again.

Played last sunday at 8 am. Course has recovered well from the rains. Greens are in good shape and overall the fairways are okay. pace of play was good. The club house is Awesome! They have remodeled and it looks outstanding. They also give you a beer for your score after the round, ie 81 and the beer is 81 cents. Good Stuff.

Played San Juan Sunday morning after the Christmas night rains. CPO and a few spots where the water collected in the fairways. Greens were soft and a tad slower than usual but rolled well with few bumps. Course in much better shape than Arroyo Trabuco.

Service has improved here at least in the pro shop. No bev cart that we saw. Nice remodeled practice facility. Bar area is very good. Lotsa TV's and food and service was very good. Gonna go back on Friday.

Great day, cool, little breeze, greens were smooth and fast. GPS on carts is very helpful. I like the variety of holes, e.g., the big tree in the middle of 10's fairway, the long downhill tee shot over the ridge on 6 left of the fairway flag, & the stay right of the lake on 15's tee shot. Busy for a Monday, 5 hour round, but pace picked up after first 4-5 holes. Sand in bunkers in good condition, not too hard. Range is well cared for. Birthday deal: pay for cart only.
