Played on 6/1 as a single at about 8am and I got everything I'm accustomed to out of SilverRock:

Great warm up area with a large putting green that actually rolls identical to the course, a chipping/pitching area with bunkers, and a perfect range.

Staff was excellent as always.

I could go on and on about the quality of this course but it can be summed up like this: tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, rough, greens, are all in the 9-10 rating range. As previously mentioned, water does not seem to be an issue here.

This course is framed by the beautiful rock mountains from which it name is derived and provides about 6 sets of tees that stretch back to just under 7,600 from the tips where the pros played when it was a Bob Hope Classic course, including a combo set on the scorecard. The length can be very challenging, so for newcomers I recommend paying close attention to the tee length.

One of the best courses in the area.

Got an incredibly beautiful morning and fantastic conditions for my first-ever trip to SilverRock yesterday morning. Course conditions are nearly immaculate throughout. The rains from Friday contributed to the first few fairways being a bit too wet, but that's out of the course's control. Same with the bunkers, which were a little heavy due to the sand being damp. The sand, however, was very good and I assume it's perfect when not wet. The greens were very smooth and quite fast (not lightning fast but faster than medium-fast). They were pretty firm. Fairways, rough and tee boxes were outstanding.

Layout-wise, the holes against the mountains are scenic stunners and some of the most fun holes as well. Big thanks to mendel for setting this up and getting us the La Quinta resident rate of only $45. He said the proposed resort development would mean the destruction of the 17th and 18th holes, which would be a real shame to lose that fantastic 17th. The only thing missing from this great warm-up round with fellow GKers were the sheep notorious for roaming the course. Didn't see any.

Great warm-up round here before the PGA West event with mendel, Itslikeimsayin and allen_grant. Thanks to mendel for setting this up and getting us out at the $45 resident rate, which is hard to beat on a Saturday morning. We had a 6:53 tee time and were the second group off behind a threesome. We enjoyed a nice sub-four-hour pace, which was perfect timing.

The course is in excellent condition throughout. With the rain this week and the ample watering they do here, things were very lush and green. Some sections of fairway were rather soggy early on, but the tee boxes and fairways were beautifully kept. The rough was also nice and lush, cut relatively low and not penal at all. I was in a few bunkers and encountered some inconsistencies with softness, but overall good sand. The greens were firm and rolling smooth at medium speeds, maybe just a tad slower than what we encountered in the afternoon at PGA West. I did notice a big section of damage on the 15th green, but the hole was kept well away from that area so it's clear they are working to let it heal.

This was my second time here and I really like this course overall. The holes that play closest to the edge of the mountain are the most distinctive and memorable, but a solid and challenging layout throughout with a beautiful setting and ample desert scenery. The staff was really friendly and it was an enjoyable round on all levels, so I'll look forward to my next visit.

Played Monday 3/30 8:30AM Tee Time..... Truly one of my favorites in the Palm Springs area! After parking at SilverRock for the Humana this year, I was able to peak at a few holes and this course did not disappoint. The course was in PRIME condition.....super green fairways and lush from Tee to Green. Greens were prime and fast, slower in the morning and baking out around 11:00AM. After 11:00 it became very hot, reached 90+ Paid $138, non resident rate and would def play again. Worth the drive from OC to play!

Greens were in good shape. Some very good and some had many damaged areas. A couple were very thin on grass coverage. Ran at medium pace and true. Most were plenty receptive.
Sand very fluffy and difficult to get out of.

Played on 12/21. Course was in very good condition, greens were consistent, fairways were in good shape and the course played very fairly. The course itself is a beast, stretching out to 7300 yards (we played it a 6900). Despite it's length, there are very few forced carries and they blend in enough "breather" holes so as you're not completely discouraged. Fairways are typically generous however, you better be prepared to play out of the sand because it's everywhere. I found the sand to be a little inconsistent. Some bunkers were soft others rock hard, so be careful.

The layout is a lot of fun. There's a driveable par 4 on the front, and a few risk/reward par 5's on the back that will give you an opportunity to make up some shots (you'll need them after a stretch from 6-9 that feature two 500 yd par 4's and 600 yd par 5).

The practice facility is fantastic. Beautiful range with 2 different chipping areas, a fairway bunker to practice out of, and 2 different putting greens. You can easily spend a few hours just honing your game.

POP was slow, just over 5 hours, but we were playing right behind a tournament so I'll give them a pass there. Overall Silverrock is a great course, it's not cheap but it's worth the money if you're in the Palm Springs Area.

The layout is interesting enough to make it fun playing the front twice. Fairway's mostly green & lush. A few browned out areas mixed in, but did not cause any issues with us. Greens in very good shape. Ran smooth, receptive and had a good speed of med/med fast. A fun course worth playing. Nobody out in the afternoon so we had the course to our selves.

Played Tuesday in the afternoon. After reading the many previous reviews we wanted to try this course and we were not disappointed. Top notch customer service throughout. Personally I have never seen such large bunkers on any course I have played, as well as huge waste areas. When playing here, you must have a decent sand game and know how to hit out of waste areas, or it will be a long day. Course is just a wonderful layout and thoroughly enjoyable. First time I have ever seen mountain sheep/goats on a golf course in S CA? One might expect in it CO; MT but not S CA? Another species to add to the list seen in my golf travels. Highly recommended.
