As the previous review mentioned there was reseeeding the day after my round. aesthically it wasn't pretty but in good shape. also due to the reseeding their driving range was closed to the public and was only open to golfers with tee times that day. furthermore the DR was limited to irons only!

all in all it was a pretty typical resort course and not one that really stands out to me, sorry to those who really like it. the greens were very fast but rolled true and there were a couple tricky ones that actually required walking around my putt to get a good feel for the break. the fairways were in good condition as were the tee boxes; no searching for a level or green spot. the course seemed really tight from most tee boxes but going astray here wasn't that big of an issue, if you miss the fairway make sure to really miss it since you will probably end up in another fw.

also, if you know someone who owns a home that has a home owners card or has a Indian Wells platinum card make sure to use it. i played on a saturday at 1230 for $65 and i didn't pay an additional charge for my gf to ride along. disclosure: brought my gf with me to the proshop the day before to make the tee time and confirm the green fee. not sure if the proshop guy, ivan, hooked me up because he is nice or because my gf kinda flirted with him.

random side note - do not go to palm springs/desert indian wells and expect to find a driving range with grass tees, they were all closed! finally hit off mats at Buckets Driving Range; this was the only real bummer.

I want to come back and play the Players course as it looked in great condition.

I'm guessing they just punched the greens about 3-4 weeks ago. Still bumpy but playable. Beautiful holes, well manicured, but a little bit short. Lots of birdie opportunities made it fun to play. ... Continue »

Played this and the Players course on Saturday and these are the two best conditioned courses I have ever played in Palm Springs in July. I have been in a tournament the last 11 years in Palm Springs in July and other than maybe Shadowridge, these two courses are on the must play list every year. Layouts do not resemble old IW tracks and are very fun and have plenty of challenge. The customer service was fantastic, I thought we had our own conceirge on the course giving us Ice and cold towels. Never had better. Must play courses

I played here today in the morning and the weather could not have been better. The course is very pretty with a lot of flowers and such, the new clubhouse is tremendous and everyone inside and out is very, very nice. I haven't played here for 15+ years and the new redesign is really good. Narrow fairways, tough to hit and surprisingly a lot of elevation up and down. Condition of the fairways was good, bunkers were good, tees were good, but the greens were really, really awful. They were cut tight but there's dirt everywhere and it's tough to explain, but overall, I was really disappointed in the greens. Fungus everywhere and tough to get a decent roll. I tried to not let it bother me but after a while, it wears on you. I ran it back in the afternoon on The Players' Course and that course is much longer but wider fairways. Both course's here are good, but I still don't think they're in the same league with Desert Willow, Shadow Ridge, or Eagle Falls. Just a notch below, not by a lot, just by a hair. Played The Players's by myself, nobody out there in the afternoon, played in 1 hr and 18 min. That's how golf should be!!

Played in the GK outing on Wednesday. This was a great tournament. The course has a great range with grass and putting green with a 9 hole putting course. There is also a short game area and another putting green near hole #1. The course is a 72 but it has only 2 par 5s and 2 par 3s. Course certainly makes you think about your tee shot as some bunkers, water, and ob come into play on a handful of holes. Greens were slick and approach shots should be left short as they will run and not check. Fairways, tee boxes, sand, and rough were all in great shape. Of course the local rule of a free drop if you are in a flower bed is kinda nice. I thought the customer service here was great. Staff, cart girl, and starter were very friendly and made for an enjoyable round. Great course, I hope to get back out there again.

This course really puts a premium on accuracy.Narrow fairways test your skills off the tee.Conditions could not be much better.Smooth fairways,moderate rough even nice sand in the bunkers.Water is in play quite often but not too much.Right from the start they give you bottled water and wet towels in your ice chest then put water stations every 3 holes with ice and water dispensers.They are very focused on making everything perfect and making it a satisfying experience.Greens really test your skills with lots of slopes and undulations.Staff is attentive and friendly.All in all a great experience.

The course -
The practice tee area was good - the grass area was soft. The flags were placed on flat greens however, the yardage marks were not to be found.

Putting green area was terrific - we had a competition going with a couple of GK members - playing it as a par 3 putting contest. Wow this was a real fun putting course. You will enjoy it alot.

The course was in outstanding shape - there was plenty of water on the course and the starters and marshalls were encouraging to drink plenty of water. They have these water machines every three holes that produce ice, water and cups. I would encourage all or most of all of the course to have something similar.

Tee boxes were in excellent shape as well as the fairways and rough. Course dinot play long from the whites and the blues were not much longer. Lots of bunkers in play on all sides of the course. There are some uphill and downhill lies but not alot of severe lies.

The par 5's are rish and reward if you go for it in two. We shot at the flags on the par 3's. This course was in great shape and a lot of fun.

The meeting area or lounge area was fantastic - it has a great overview of the course with outside dining. The inside dining has evrything you could want, dining with entertainment, bar area and good food. It was great being able to watch the Laker game with a bunch of people but not be in a crowd of people.

But this place had it all - anyone want to get full lessons or partial lessons, maybe jjust have a private dinnner with a loved one? They have it all. The Callaway training center was awesome - we watched a gentlemen get lessons while the pro used all of the latest technology to analyze his swing, ball position, flight and everthing else. It was awesome. Every shaft, club, grip and things you need to build the perfect set.

If you ant to have some luxury in your life after you play a great golf course then this is where you want to be. You will really enjoy your your experience.

It was a great experience - that I would recommend and will take advantage of again.

As a group outing organizer I must say I was totally impressed with every aspect of Indian Wells Golf Resort. From the beginning stages of the planning to execution of the event, their staff was professional, accommodating and followed through. It was precisely what I expected from a facility that hosted the LG Skins Game.

Regarding the course, gorgeous. OUTSTANDING beautiful layout and clubhouse facility with lush turf and manicured conditions all the way around. I admit I was not used to playing greens transitioning from poa to bermunda but they did roll true and smooth. A little dry for my tastes but fun and very challenging to say the least. Fairways - super lush. Rough - not too long but lush. Sand Traps - great shape. Tee Boxes - perfect.

Another thing I really appreciated was the comfort stations every 3rd hole. I personally called them oasis stations since they offered fountain station ice, cups and water. In addition they had iced bottled water on hand. Because of the comfort stations, despite the near 100 degree heat, I never once felt dehydrated.

This is course worthy of playing under almost any circumstances and I recommend it to everyone…especially those planning events.
