Played Sunday on a cold day with very little wind except for one moment about 45 seconds of high wind and then calm for the most part. It was a very clear day but the temperature never got comfortable enough to be in short sleeves.
The course is in really nice condition as always. I was really liking the greens as they were receptive, with some forward bounce and roll but they were really fast and true rolling.
On some of the tee boxes I found the ground pretty hard to get the tee to go in but they were level and green.

The bunkers were very good.
The poor girl driving the beverage cooler around was freezing, and she really made the rounds as I saw her at least three times during our 4 hours out there.

Afterwards a tall very hot chocolate capped off a great golfing experience.

Pros- Greens are always a treat here. Ball rolls here like a pool table. This course is known for what they can get those greens rolling on the STIMP and that hasn't changed. Layout is straightforward and thought provoking.
Cons- Winter conditions on everything else. Fairways were tighter and drier than normal. Few bare spots. Been really cold here some days. Bunkers were a bit wind blown too.
Overall- This is about as bad shape as the course will be in, mostly due to bad weather. That being said, I would play here today or any day

My favorite course and it keeps getting better. They are doing tree trimming but no bother to golfers, only thing I noticed is that they are keeping the slopes on the greens shaved so if you roll off the green you are looking at the ball rolling 20-40 yards off the green. Teed off at 7:30 today 1/10 and only had rain the first hole and then partial sun. Course was virtually empty due to the fact that many called in to cancel as they were afraid to get wet, boo hoo. Get out and play.

Played 12-8-12 at 7:30am. Not sure what Jerry is talking about. The Course is in Great Shape. Greens rolled true and i did not see many ball marks. Fairways were very lush and in great shape. But the Bunkers are at best terrible. Greenside as well as fairways. It was Freezing when we teed off but the nice grass range helped us warm up. Love this track .

I played Goose Creek on Dec 11 and did not see any of the problems that Jerry 64 described about his visit on 12/6. The course was in perfect shape as reported many times here???

Hey all this is Jerry 64, and I would like to give a review for Goose Creek played on Thursday 12-6-12. I have played this course many times in the past and normally find the conditions to be some of the best around, however on this day I was very much in amazement to what I found. The greens were bumpy, and rolled terrible, with many ball marks either unfilled or repaired poorly or incorrectly, with lots of ground clutter. The fairways were poorly maintained with several unplayable lies, which created a (lift and place, six inch pump) agreement with my foursome that day. The condition of the fairways were caused by SHAVINGS, GUR, or GROUND CLUTTER. The bunkers were the worst I have seen, HARD PAN, from Fairways to Greens, with just a dusting of sand to give the appearance of white. I try and be fair with each review I give and do not provide special treatment for any course for any reason except overseeding, on this day the course conditions were very poor.

Not much to say other than what has been written recently. I adore this course. Everything is perfect except bunkers. Had a couple of green side bunker shot surprises where the club felt like it hit a garage floor underneath a half inch of sand resulting in a sand rocket whizzing by my friend's heads.

Note to self - dig feet into bunkers to gauge sand depth.

Bunkers are just a small pimple on this model's face.

Pace of play - 4.5 hours. Cart tart showed up multiple times. greens were quick.

Played this morning 11/20 and again the course is super nice. Everything is in good condition. Gave the bunkers an average score as I was not in any today (surprise) Teed off at 6:30 and done at 9:45 all walkers. Foggy for first 3 holes and then the sun came out. Just a beautiful course.
