First off on Sunday and finished in a little over three hours. This course is probably in the best shape I've seen it in. The staff is familiar and friendly. The rates are very reasonable and a deal compared to the local casino course who has jacked up their rates. The tee boxes are mostly flat with a few being sloped and a little thin. The fairways have good coverage with areas that should be marked as gur. The rough is fairly thick and long making for an easter egg hunt if your ball finds it way there. The sand traps were their usual wet compact mess. The greens still showed evidence of being plugged, but the ball rolled pretty well albeit slower than usual. There were many greens with numerous ball marks in need of repair as well. The water features on this course actually still have quite a good amount of water in them which is great. I find the layout to be somewhat challenging and always enjoy a round here. Recommended.

Played a few days ago, on 4-21-19. This was my first time here. I chose this course for something new and to enjoy a little bit of a drive. I had a tee time of 11:50 but was able to go out right away when I arrived about an hour early so I didn’t sample the driving range or putting green. I was looking forward to playing by myself so I could just take my time and relax- it all worked out great as there was no one behind me the entire round. This is a very enjoyable course. It’s an older, no frills course with a good variety of holes. Some are just straight forward with no surprises and others that really took some planning-my favorite kind. Other than the 150 yard rocks, I couldn’t find any markers so I was glad I purchased a yardage book (and thank you, HmtGolfGuy, for the handy hints). The conditions were good. The fairways were a bit thin in spots but overall had adequate coverage. The tee boxes were shaggy with lots of dandelions but were level. The greens were great – smooth, medium fast and held shots well. There were lots of fun undulations. I found a couple of bunkers. They were ok, just dirt, but soft enough to hit from easily. The rough varied from a couple inches to bare dirt but I was playing well and only strayed from the fairways a few times. I had to wait on the twosome in front of me on several holes, so I replayed a few and really just had a nice time. I finished in a bit under 4 hrs. I shot a 94 so it really was a great day! I’d love to play here again sometime.

Some tee boxes need a lot of work. Fairways were nice. Rough not so penal but very wet. We played a greenside bunker as a gur. Another wasnt to bad to hit out off. Greens were on the slow side but rolled nicely. Overall a great layout and a lot of potential.

Teed off in the morning darkness and finished in 3.5 hours. Staff is great - nice to see familiar faces here. The tee boxes were pretty dry, both thin and shaggy, beat up and somewhat sloped on a few holes. The fairways were hit and miss with good to thin coverage on every hole. The rough also varied from dry and thin to thick and damp. It would be great if the grounds crew could even out the watering on this course - IT would make a tremendous difference in the overall conditions. The traps were fairly well groomed but 99 percent of the material in them is DIRT. Shots from the traps were just about impossible on every hole. The greens were in very nice shape but many were peppered with ball marks. The greens were slightly bumpy but rolled pretty well. I really enjoy the layout and location of this course. I feel that with proper maintenance that the course would attract many more golfers. Recommended for reasonable green fees and generally good pace of play.

Fairways have good coverage, rough is hit or miss with grass that's uniform to clumpy to dirt. Bunkers also hit or miss.....not really sand per se....more like fluffy dirt.....some surprisingly soft....some really hard.
Not a soul out there this aftermoon...

Mid-morning round brought us back here on Monday after a couple year hiatus... I will say that most of the posted pictures, although old, are still pretty good representation of the course today, minus any scenes with water as there wasn't any. Greens were in magnificent shape, not to fast or slow. Fairways a bit thin, sand was dark/wet mud like, but got out of them ok. At the start, there had to be at least a 10 minute gap between the twosome teeing off in front of us and our foursome, that resulted for some reason in a big backup at the 4th, par 3... Had to be a solid 4.5 hour round with the twosome always in our sites... Would play again as it was a pretty good value for caliper of course.

Played out here today with an 11:52 GolfNow Hot Deal. Pretty sure this was the first time ever for me that a GolfNow reservation wasn’t in the course computer. Although I showed him my confirmation in the GN app, the pro shop guy asked me to call GN and they got it resolved quickly with no headaches other than that extra step. The pro shop guy was adamant that I wait for my other “half cart” partner, who arrived just a couple minutes before our tee time. As a result, we probably started a few minutes late. The course was full of twosomes, several in front of us and several behind us. Oddly, no one seemed like they wanted to join up, so we all just remained twosomes. The front nine was pretty smooth but that back nine got a little jammed up. Total POP was 4:25. Weather was fantastic and I played the black/Tournament tees (6,590).

The course is in pretty decent playing condition. Visually it’s rough around the edges but it plays better than it looks. The greens are by far the highlight. They are very lush and roll smoothly. However, they are only about medium speed, except me and my playing partner did have a few putts race away from us. I tend to think there’s a lot of grain here, because green speeds were inconsistent, but the greens are in quite good condition, so I can’t attribute it to certain greens being faster than others. The greens are medium firmness; my short-iron approaches stopped quickly but mid-irons bounced and ran out some. Fairways have good coverage but it’s a patchy mix of different types of grass – some very tight bermuda underneath some rye (or similar-looking grass) sprouting up. All of it was mowed short. If you’re in the fairway, you’re likely going to be on grass. The rough is much more hit or miss. I had some really lush, fluffy lies and also found some hardpan. The bunkers I was in surprisingly had tons of soft sand, but many fairway bunkers are almost like hardpan and balls ran right through them. For the most part, the black tee boxes had good coverage but some were shaggy and many were lumpy. The 14th tee was quite bare, though.

This was my second time playing the course. I love a lot of holes out here, and others aren’t very inspiring. All four par 3s are fantastic, and all quite different from each other. On the back nine, the stretch of 13 through 17 is really good and all fun holes. Basically anywhere the course butts up against the mountains, it’s great. The flatlands holes are more forgettable. If this course were closer to my home, I’d play it more often but it’s almost a 90-minute drive for me. Thankfully it’s a good value, so I can justify the drive occasionally.

Rain-related notes: There are a few large areas of standing water on the course, but none of them really come into play. They seemed to all be within the first 100 yards off the tee on several different holes. A large section of rough left of the 6th green is marked as GUR. The 9th hole was cart path only and carts are asked to observe the 90-degree rule on the remainder of the course. All in all, the course seems to have handled the rain well and/or already recovered.

Played a couple times the last two weeks, conditions in general are average but consistent. Greens continue to be the best feature, holding well struck shots, soft bounces and reasonable rollout on those with less spin. Pitted very well at medium/fast speed. Was in a couple fairway bunkers, they are hard pan dirt, the couple gree side were a pleasant surprise - good amount of actual sand and played nicely. Rough around the greens varies from moderate to quite lush, fairway rough is pretty patchy. Fairways are decent, some better than others, can get some lies that are nestled down between patches or pretty thin. Tees need some leveling and filling but if you back up a yard or so it's usually ok - exceptions are the par 3's which are pretty chewed up. Pace of play runs about 4:15-4:20 - not great but not horrible (depends a lot on how courteous those in front are). Rates are quite reasonable especially if you join their email list - this last weekend they had a last minute special with rates at $32 for 9:00 am. This is a fun course with a good variety of holes - a couple short risk/reward par 4's, couple reachable par 5's, several holes where strategy may be more important than distance, challenging but not overly long par 3's. Considering the price vs condition it is easily recommended.

Played today, 10/12/15 as a walk-on single. Frost delay until just before 7:30 but the guy in the shop was great, got me out in front of the regular Thursday senior group. Nicely done! POP was 3:20 but I could have easily cut 20-30 minutes off - once I was clear of everyone behind me I took the time to do a little practicing by re-hitting shots and/or a different strategy

This is the 4th time I've played here in the last seven weeks and the course is steadily improving. Fairways were good coverage in most places, still a little thin in some but easily playable. Tee boxes were generally good though the par 3's are pretty chewed up, also there's about 3 that need some leveling. Rough varied, some thin, others areas the ball would sit down - more so around the greens than anywhere else.

There are working on the bunkers, weeks in most have been removed and saw one of the workers with a big load of sand that was going into several of the green side ones. This was one of the weakest parts of the course and it's nice to see it being addressed.

As usual, the greens are the best part of the course and noticeably better than a few weeks ago. Still a little soft (if you spin your approach shots you can get some nasty ball marks!) but starting to firm up some - speed was probably about a 9+ when I started and a good solid 10 once they dried out. Rolled the best I've experienced in a long time, very good with essentially zero bounce.

While still a long way from what it was, this is the best I've seen it in at least 2-3 years. Conditions currently compare quite well to Soboba (the measuring stick around here) and the layout is enjoyable and relatively friendly for higher handicap/shorter hitters. Given their rate structure it's definitely worth playing.
