I last played here just after they opened. (Under Landmark Golf at the time) I was not all that impressed with the course, but after playing today, I really enjoyed the course. While the conditioning was not great and certainly nothing like I remember it being all those years ago, I found the overall layout very appealing. It's too bad that the course has been allowed to lose it's "luster", (Much like Moreno Valley ranch which was once a premier track) but maybe there just isn't enough demand for a higher end course in that area and thus can not command the green fees to permit/justify the manicured conditions which this course one enjoyed?

The staff was perfect, pace was perfect (first off so not an issue) and I found the experience to be much better than expected. I will return again sooner than later

Played 6/10, walked on and got out immediately as a single, used the email club Super Wednesday for a rate of $25 incl. cart. POP was roughly 3 hours & 20 minutes, but that included waiting on a couple different groups until they let me through and playing extra shots. Eliminate those and I could have easily been done in under 3 hours.

Course is in the best condition I’ve seen in a LONG time. Now, don’t confuse this with being in really good condition, or compare it to what this place used to be like – those days are long gone. However, when compared against 2-3 years ago it has improved significantly in what I think are the two most important areas – quality of the greens and consistency throughout the course.

Now for the details. Fairways were a little thin with mixed grasses - never had a super tight lie nor one I would call “cushy” but consistent from hole-to-hole. Rough is a mixed bag ranging from almost non-existent to fairly thick and dense. Bunkers near greens were adequate at best and quite heavy with water – fairway bunkers were even harder (but the flipside is they’re pretty easy to get out of).

Tee areas were pretty worn, definitely time to move the markers. One odd quirk – on many holes the markers were placed fairly close to each other (side to side, not from whites to blues) which contributed to how worn they were – just wasn’t much room to work with.

Now to the best part – the greens were in the best shape I’ve seen in at least 3 years. Even the number of ball marks was noticeably less than I expected (that’s always been a big issue at this course). They held shots very well, putted quite true and rolled pretty much the same over the entire course (another issue they previously struggled with). Speed could have been a little quicker from my perspective but that’s a personal thing – probably will need to keep the just a tad longer (and therefore slower) as the temps go up. Only bad spot is 18 – it’s still recovering from some damage – looks like they ran a mower across and back that was leaking oil (or it could have been vandalism).

It’s always been a fun track with a lot of variety between holes – given the current condition and pricing it’s definitely worth playing.

Enjoy this course with its variety of holes. Fairly wide open, a few holes with elevation changes mix it up a bit. The waterholes have been either overgrown with tall vegetation or very low levels. Course was a bit wet with an early 8am tee time, so they're pumping water on it.
All but one green was in pretty good condition, (the bad one looked liked maybe their lawn mower leaked gasoline over it having 5 or 6 three inch wide streaks of no grass from end to end). All the others were in good shape, but ran medium to slow. Shots held pretty good.
Plenty of fairway bunkers to maneuver, being fairly hardpan. A couple of the green side traps I witnessed had some real nice soft, thick sand, (but can't say for all).
Fairly nice go-to course, but not on the glamorous side.
Get on their email list to take advantage of the occasional deals.

Friday 11:30 Pace was blazing on the front, ran into some groups on 14, still 3.25 hours is nice. Course overall is in playable condition. Good layout with a variety of different looks.

Tee Boxes needed some help by moving the tee markers around, it was evident that they hadn't been moved in a few days but still could find a spot. Fairways were not pristine by any means however there were few bare spots that I saw and the ball was sitting pretty good. Greens were medium to slow on putts and very grainy, keeping it firm was a must.
Greens were holding most shots, a little inconsistent. Bunkers- fairway traps were hard dirt,
Greenside traps had plenty of soft sand to hit from, even plugged one. Course has various dog legs a few elevation changes, some water holes, a few dried up hazard areas, generous fairways. Not a lot of trouble to get into. Worth the $25. The Range is across the street so if you need to use it leave a little extra time!

The tee boxes were in okay shape, a few were hard though. The views are nice from a few of the holes here when the air is clear. Staff has always been nice and friendly over the years. It's nice to see the same faces year after year!! For the green fees and the pace of play it's really not a bad place to play!

Somehow this course has my email and sends me specials. Last wknd. with not a lot avail or appealing, I booked a quick rd. knowing I would probably just play nine. Good call Z. This place still is just a bit rough for my $crilla. The first green had dead and diseased areas that stretched 2/3 across it amounted to 1/8 the putting surface. Just terrible. Fairways very patchy, and as usually the bunkers were hard dirt. They've been that way for going on 5 years or more. Its just not a fun course IMO.

Played here with sixpez on Saturday, 9/6 for our third round of the day. We paid $20 each and it's well worth that right now, although conditions are far from pristine.

Played here with sixpez on Saturday, 9/6 for our third round of the day. We paid $20 each and it's well worth that right now, although conditions are far from pristine.

The greens have a lot of ball marks and got pretty mushy/spongy late in the day. Some of them had some damaged parts, but fortunately nothing that affected our play. They were decent overall. Fairways weren't bad but weren't great, either. The rough is pretty spotty and the bunkers were a mixed bag – fairway bunkers seemed really terrible, hardly tended to at all with grasses growing in them, etc., but greenside bunkers were kept in pretty decent condition. Tee boxes: Never had a problem finding a spot to tee my ball, although don't take that to mean they're perfect. They were sufficient.

This was my first time to play this course and I loved the layout. A lot of really fun holes and some really pretty scenery up against some rocky mountains. In spots it's very reminiscent of the Mountain Nine at Moreno Valley Ranch or maybe even La Quinta Resort (Mountain). For the rate we paid, it's a great value.

Only real complaint is what sixpez mentioned – how can a course with such extreme summer temperatures not have more drinking water available for players? There was one water jug on the whole course, and it was nearly empty when we got to it. If I hadn't loaded up with three tall styrofoam cups of ice water at the snack bar at the turn, I likely wouldn't have been able to finish.

Well, we were already in Hemet and still had plenty of daylight, so I looked on GN and saw times after 3pm for $20. We decided to go by the course first to make sure it wasn't busy because we only wanted to play if it was a quick round. The guy in the pro shop was super nice and told us it was good out there. He also just gave us the same price as GN without us having to book online, so that was cool. Unfortunately, when we got to the first tee there was an excruciatingly slow foursome out on the fairway. We decided to jump straight to hole 2 and then came back to play the 1st at the end. When we came back around to the 1st 3 hours later, that group was just making their turn, so it was a huge move! It is important to note that they need to put some more drinking water out on this dang course, especially in the summer! There was a jug we passed by twice on the front, but it was nearly empty. There was some ice water and cups in the snack bar at the turn, so be sure and load up there. There were not any drinking water stations on the back nine. No cart girl this late in the day either, so it was brutal!!! Anyway, the course was in reasonable condition. Given the drought and the struggles this place has had over the years, we were pleasantly surprised. Far from great, but plenty playable. The fairways were patchy with some thin spots and some really shaggy sections where the grass was lush, but I mostly had good lies. The rough is a mixed bag, though I will say the rough around most greens was quite lush, thick and penal. The greens themselves were pretty good. Very soft and a bit pock-marked late in the day (also footprints starting to show late), but not too bad. The fairway bunkers were pretty ugly with hardpan and grass/weeds growing through. However, you can tell they are putting their attention to the greenside ones, which were fairly good. I used to play here a lot because I really enjoy the layout and setting, and it was always cheap option for a weekend morning round. The course went more and more downhill over the years. The last time I played, the greens were terrible. Today, the greens were much, much better, but the rest of the course has a ways to go. I'd love to see this course get into primo shape again someday because I have a real soft spot for it.

Played in the afternoon 9/4 on a special "hot deal" time, including booking fee was under $15. I mention this up front as my comments are relative to the cost.

Course is in adequate shape. Fairways, like most in SoCal, are a little thin and tight with some dried out spots and the rough is inconsistent and patchy. Didn't have a lot of impact on play, couple times in the rough, only one of which was really bad.

For the most part, the greens were in good shape, soft and a little slow. However, there were about 3 greens (most noticeably #1) that looked like someone had been hitting chips or even full shots off them - good sized chunks that looked like repaired divots.

Sand is never good here, more like raked dirt - just stay out of the bunkers. Most tees were in good shape, but the front side par 3s and the blues on 18 were trashed.

POP was excellent, pretty much had the place to myself, played 2 balls on most holes and still finished in a leisurely 3:15. No cart service, snack bar was pretty much closed up, water available on a few holes.

Is it worth the cost? I'd say so, especially if you can get a reduced rate. If you need a place to practice and be able to hit multiple shot from the same spot this is perfect. There's not much "wow" factor here, but it's a decent, solid layout.

Is is worth driving to play? Probably not (unless you're looking to practice as noted above).

Hopefully the conditions will improve as things cool off. It's not that far away from being in fairly good to good condition, I'll update over the next couple months.
