I played this course on 04/23/21 and the greens were ridiculous. The greens were still recovering from recently being punched. Many greens had an EXTREME amount of sand on them...as if buckets of sand was just thrown on. It was like putting in a sand box and others were extremely bumpy with the punched holes. An awful day for putting here. Sand in bunkers was wet and heavy. Had I known it was that bad, my guest and I would have played elsewhere. Don't waste your money.

Covid is giving so much business to golf courses that they do not have to worry about giving players their's moneys worth or give them a good golf experience. NEVER AGAIN will we play at HIDDEN VALLEY ..

I have not been able to get out much lately to play but I got some time today so I looked to see what courses were pretty wide open so I could get some practice in. I saw Hidden Valley had a bunch of tee times and I had not played here in a while so I thought it would be fun.

I was really disappointed with the course today. This place has been booked solid for the past few months so I had pretty high expectations based on the amount of play this place was getting. I was pretty disappointed once I got out on the course.

First off, GolfNow did not mention anywhere that the course was cart path only. Anyone that has every played this course could agree with me that this course is not one you really want to play on cart path only conditions. It was really odd that the course was cart path only with the conditions I saw. The course was actually really dry and I even saw holes that had sprinklers on. Really weird situation if you ask me.

The fairways and rough were in decent shape. There were a ton of divots but I expected that with the amount of play they have been getting. They can't really help that to be honest.

The tee boxes were absolutely horrible. I have never in my life seen tee boxes like these. Most had literally zero grass on them - especially on the par 3's. I found myself trying to find an area that just had some grass to hit off of - whether is was between the tee markers or not. If you played the entire 18 between the markers, you would have been hitting off actual dirt on at least 9 of the 18 holes. Probably the worst tee boxes I have ever played and I have played some crappy courses!

The pace of play was absolutely horrible. I understand that I was a single but the groups in front of me were absolutely brutal. It would have been a 6 hour round if I would have stayed behind them. I ended up going back to the first tee after #9 and was able to fly though my "back 9". I don't think I would have finished 14 holes before dark if I would have gone to the back. Brutal pace of play but understandable with cart path only conditions on this course.

I guess I had too high of expectations today. I have not been on Greenskeeper in a while since I have not been playing much so I did not see the previous reviews about the course. If I had seen those, I probably would have picked something else today. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this course right now. Slow play and poor course conditions did not add up to a very fun day.

Needing to use a voucher which was about to expire, back out to Hidden Valley. I have enjoyed playing this course because it represents a rather stern test for me. (Since I am never smart enough to play from the proper tee boxes) Having read the prior reviews, my expectations were low, and they were pretty much on point. I can tolerate the winter conditions at courses, but I am particular about the greens. The greens certainly were quick enough, but not true, so the combination of fast greens with bumpy surfaces makes for a frustrating experience.

Fairways were a mixed bag, some thin, some just fine. I have to admit I do not tee off between the markers, so I was able to find areas on the tees which were fine. Rough also inconsistent.

Have to admit that I was not really "into it" today, so I guess my disappointment level would have been higher had I really cared. But anytime you can play golf in December it makes me smile.

Played on 12/23/20. Pace of play was fine after first 3 holes. Wind was blowing hard but had my mind made up to just accept it. Condition of the course was very poor. The grass is dormant and I get that. A lot of mud!! Most bunkers were dug up and had standing water. Greens were ok shape but fast beyond acceptability. Saw a 3 ft putt on 17 roll off the front. (about 30 ft). Wind had an impact but still c'mon. And for some reason nobody feels compelled to fix a ball mark. In my opinion that's an indicator of the lack of respect people have for this course.

I had not played this course in about 20 years. Just hit it because some friends got together for Christmas. Have no plans to come back.

Played here today, 12/15, and I will get right to it, not worth the cost right now. This course is almost unplayable, especially in any sort of wind. The greens are bumpy and extremely fast; I watched many putts go flying from a small tap. It was unheard of. I have never played a course in these conditions but I knew something was off when the clubhouse had a sign "no wind rain checks, play at own will." or something like that. There were plenty of times i felt like the wind was going to knock me over on the swing or just standing there; some of the elevated tee boxes made me feel uneasy because of the wind. I would avoid here at all costs right now until they get the greens back into some sort of decent shape.

Played Fri Nov 20th at 648, check in ok, they have no senior rate so $57 was the damage. This track in not worth that rate. Starter was up by the club house giving out carts, 2 per cart, or pay extra. Got to the 1st tee and they had moved all the rough down and left it, you could barely see the cart path. Tee boxes were level, fairways cut short , running in spots and very wet in others. The course was definitely over watered, there were many bunkers that had allot of water in them. I was in 1 green side trap and there was actually good sand. Greens were terrible, so fast they were unplayable, 3 foot down hill putt, hit it 1" miss the hole and it goes 6 feet past it, 10 foot up hill putt and on line 3" short and it rolls back 5 feet, 2o foot down hill putt hit it 2" and rolls 6 feet past. Saw cart girl once, we never order. Will not be back for $57 when I can play el prado, for $36 and actually enjoy the round.

Went back to Hidden Valley to play since the other courses in the local area have aerated last week. I thought that they would get their act together and have a Starter and Marshall with all the complaints of slow play. WRONG.

Upon arrival at the clubhouse we were told that everyone was running on time. Showed up on time at the 1st tee but there was already a line. Golfers on the box were already 30 minutes behind their tee time, not their fault as they also had to wait. No Starter to get people off on time. Waited on almost every hole and no Marshall to move people along. POP was a grueling 5.5 hours.

Okay course condition: Sand traps are being repaired and sign at pro shop say to take out of trap and get free drop. Rough has not been cut down especially around the traps, so good luck finding your ball if you land in the area. Fairways are in good condition. Greens are lush but need to be tamped down and cut as the are slow.

Sorry to say, that this course is now on the bottom of the list until they can get POP back down to a 4-4.5 hour pace.

Played here 10/3/20 with a 9:00 am tee time. Got paired with another single and a twosome. Played in 5 hrs. Would have been 4 hr but the last 5 holes the group in front of us decided to sit and talk on the greens and take their sweet time..... Course conditions:

Greens- 8/10- All were in great shape except hole 9 which was patchy and a bit tore up
Fairways- 8/10- Mostly good coverage, green and trimmed
Rough- 9/10- Penalizing but not too long where you cant find a ball. Good coverage and green
Sand- N/A All bunkers were under repair and were played as a free drop.
Tee Boxes- 7/10- About 70% were in good shape. Hole 5 needed some work. Definite damage and not level.
Water- clean and clear
** Ordered a Gatorade and water on hole 2 from the cart girl. She took my credit card and I didn't see her until hole 17. It was 102 degrees out. I was not too happy with the cart girl service. This is the first time I had to actually call the clubhouse and ask if she was still making rounds. Im guessing she parked somewhere and sat in the shade.
