Played as a foursome on 4/10 at 7:08am. There is a special Mon-Thurs before 8am for $49. This is a great rate for this beautiful course. They are about 5 wks post reseeding and the course is in spectacular condition.
Service: Great! Help with your bags immediately once you enter parking lot.
Tee box: Level
Fairway: Nice conditions. Hardly any bare spots
Rough: Not terribly deep but still tough to get out of in some spots
Green: No signs of reseeding. smooth and rolling around 10. Tough pin placement that day.

All in all, a must play (esp if you can get out early and take advantage of the deal).

9am Saturday morning, light breeze, the weather is perfect. Playing as a 3some the first tee is lush and flat no heavy markings almost pristine, this turns out to be the case the entire round. the fairways were great almost like carpet, ( I have been playing LA city, this is not the same league ) the greens are completely recovered from maintenance, very smooth and uniform through out the 18, sometimes fast, sometimes very fast. Costumer service is top notch. This was a real treat.

Played 2/23/12. Oak Quarry is one of my favorite tracks in So Cal. One of the most unique layouts you will find anywhere. One this visit, however, some good, and some bad observations. Fairways were in pretty good shape (the good), but dozens of unfilled divots throughout (the bad). I landed in 3 unfilled / unrepaired divots, in the middle of fairway, and my playing partner found a couple more. Players need to share responsibility to repair, but course needs to remedy as needed. Greens were receptive (the good), but were the bumpiest surface I have played on in a long time (the bad). I think they are poa, but these were very slow, and I played at 830am. On this particular day, pin placements were ridiculous. Several pins in corners or edges, only 4-5 feet from the fringe. Just plain bad judgement. Pace was also a bit of an issue, especially when getting to the par 3's. All the negatives aside on this visit, I still recommend. Customer service was outstanding. Bag service arriving and leaving. Decent grub in the restuarant, and friendly staff throughout.

played mid-morning Mon Feb 20. This was my second round here, and I was not disappointed. This facility is run very well, and it is apparent that customer service is important to the staff. The approach here is similar to Oak Valley - it's a facility for serious golfers. The service is efficient without being overbearing. The pro shop staff is welcoming, as is the starter. The bathrooms in the clubhouse and on the course are the cleanest I've seen at a public facility. And the snack shop at the turn actually stays open well into the afternoon. And then there's the golf course. The conditions were terrific, particularly if you prefer firm fairways. The greens were slightly bumpy in areas, but the ball rolls better and faster than they look. But the best thing about this course is the design and hole variety. We played the blues, and from there, a 10 handicap will use every club in the bag. There are interesting short par 4s, double move par 5s, long par 3s, uphill and downhill holes - basically, a fun, interesting routing where no 2 holes are alike. You really have to think on every tee box just how you want to play the hole as most offer more than one option. The green complexes have tight chipping areas, so you must have a good chipping action or it will be a long day. Finally, there are a number of tee boxes that offer terrific views. This is as good a golf value as there is in SoCal.

Have to agree with tskimballdds about the different kinds of grass growing in the greens. That was the only thing wrong I found with this course. First time playing Oak Quarry and I thought the course was beautiful. Overheard someone working there, they will be over seeding and punching the greens next week.

There are three or four different kinds of grass growing in the greens. This makes them very uneven and even bumpy. I don't know if it's the time of year or what, but they were the worst I have seen them in the 10 or so times I have played this course over the past 8 years.
Otherwise the course was great as always.

Had a 7:16 tee time on 2/8. Course played at a decent pace (finished in 4hrs). The course was in decent conditions. Only complaints were that the greens were a tad bumpy (compared to the prev times I played there) and the sand traps were packed on a few holes. Also the wind kicked up at around 10:00 and made the last 5 holes pretty darn tough. Otherwise the fairways were in pretty good condition as were the tee boxes.

Course is still as beautiful as ever and in terrific shape. They were one of the few courses that over seeded this year and it shows. Just beautiful views and this morning the weather was perfect, no wind at all and for $40 you can't beat it.

played last wednesday, been a couple of years, what a treat! Somehow they keep this place in great shape, have the staff always appearing to be happy to see you and all that makes for an enjoyable day. The course isnt extra tough but it is VERY interesting and LOTS of fun. You can get in trouble but you wont care as the place is just fun to play. We will be back very soon.
