Played 4/27 early morning with a GolfMoose voucher and finished in 4 hours. First time on this track but great feedback from other members as what to look for when reading the tips and reviews. Sent us out 30 minutes early as we didn't know the range and snack bar is closed every Thursday until 9AM. Was a little worried as they aerated earlier in the month, but the greens seem to be 90-95% recovered, were in great shape and VERY fast. Read about the multi tiered greens and that is extremely accurate. Approach shot accuracy is a must! A few of the tee boxes were a bit uneven, and a few greens had some bare spots and damage, but all in all greens were soft and in great shape, fairways nice and pretty lush. Note, there was no cart service for those who want it. Would definitely come back, especially at $40 for a midweek round. Well worth it.

Early morning Saturday round just under four hours - great! The staff is always good. Tee boxes are almost all fairly level and generally have good coverage throughout the round. Fairways yesterday were in very good condition with some roll if you could keep your drives in the short stuff. If you ventured into the rough you found longer and much thicker grass. The fairway rough was for the most part about the same length as the green side rough. I was in a few traps (always a complaint of mine here) with very different conditions. Green side trap on the uphill par three 4th hole was filled with wet heavy sand covering about an inch of hard mud in the middle of them!! The fairways bunkers were damp around the edges and rock hard in the middle - didn't even need to rake some since no footprints could be made by walking in them. The greens are in very nice shape and most held shots very well. The greens sped up as the morning warmed up but they were are slower than in any other morning round I've played here. The views from a few of the holes make the experience more enjoyable than other local courses. The rack rates are getting closer to what most would say in reasonable - be prepared to give them a [credit card] now to book a tee time - new policy I was told as I had never EVER been asked before in the previous twenty years of play here.

Played early this am with no frost delay - even though the first green was very white and crunchy? The sun did come up quick and thawed out the course by the third hole. The course was in pretty good shape considering the non stop rains we had in the area the week before. The tee boxes were a little thin but in good shape. The rough was very dense from all the rain and fairly thick. Fairways were still thin and soggy in a few places but not bad at all. The traps for the most part were in very good shape - there were several that still needed to be groomed and have the standing water pumped out. The greens were in great shape from the recent rains and probably from having very little or limited play on them. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pace of play today was a little over four hours. My one suggestion for management would be to consider flipping the front/back nines to speed up the pace of play. The first hole is a difficult par five which really does make for a slow start with groups backing up to tee off. Great views on a very challenging course with reasonable rates if you can find or use a deal.

Played Redhawk on Wednesday, 11/30/16, at 11am because I had an Underpar certificate that was expiring today. Shop said that many other certificate players were showing up today, as well. Didn’t get a response on the GK Meet-Play posting so I went out alone, joining a very amiable local retired couple, and we had an enjoyable round. We pushed the deliberate foursome ahead of us most of the round, but lost the group behind after the second hole, finishing in just over 4 hours. We played white (group decision), and many of the white tees were moved farther forward or set on the front of the box.

This course needs some serious TLC. It has a slightly unkempt look after rain 3 days ago and the need for tightening up of turf conditions. Cart paths have a lot of problems and many areas need repair and/or re-leveling. The putting greens have large bare spots/patches; the main practice green has so much slope it’s almost useless trying to get a feel for on-course greens – many practice putts just roll off the green. The on-course lakes have cheesy chicken wire fences around them to keep the birds off – they look terrible. [But there are very few black skid marks on greens from bird poop!] There are many many unrepaired divots and slashes in fairways and rough. The divot mix refill rack on #10 was completely empty at 1pm. We never saw a marshal regarding the slow group in front of us, or to request more divot mix, which we used until it was all gone. So the course needs to dedicate some resources and personnel to addressing these playability issues.

Overall course playing conditions were pretty decent, keeping in mind the ongoing water issues in SoCal. Greens were soft, receptive, and rolled at medium-fast speed, despite the many unrepaired ballmarks on all greens. Fairways are dormant Bermuda and were thin, giving tight lies, and rolled out quite a bit, showing many bare spots or areas torn up by equipment. Rough varied from deep to none - similar to fairways, there are lots of dry, bare/thin areas. I was in one fairway bunker (#7) and it was basically raked hardpan, with a puddle of water at the bottom. My playing partners had several greenside bunker lies that looked to have adequate coverage. Tees were thin/tight, and many are sloping; par-3 tees were not too torn up except for #17. No divot mix is provided on par-3 tee boxes.

The bunker on the right side of #8 (by the bridge) is now grass and not sand – I’m not sure if any other bunkers have been converted. New sand was being put in one of the left front bunkers on #9 green. The upper back tee on #15 looks (behind the restroom) is apparently unmowed/abandoned. Saw the cart girl several times. Adequate water available.

I like this course and hope the ownership dedicates the resources needed to bring it up to better overall condition.

Early morning round in under four hours with some waiting - not bad! The tee boxes are in pretty good shape with a few not real level from the gold sets. The fairways are starting to go dormant with the cooler days and limited sunlight. The fairways seem to be getting much tighter than in the past - great for good roll if you are in them. The fairway sand traps are very hard and thin. I found the green side bunkers in great shape with nice sand and well groomed. One suggestion would be for the course to replace the poor old broken rakes they have around the course. The rough is not too long but fairly thick and made looking for your ball an Easter egg hunt. The greens were in great shape with very few ball marks but were much slower than usual - even for the time of the day? They have put the seventh hole green back in play finally - it seems much smaller than before but is in nice shape. The staff here is great! Everybody is always in a good mood and very friendly. Always recommended for a challenging round on a well maintained course with great views!

Played Sunday, 10/30, with my bro for his birthday, teeing off at 9:00. Used an Underpar cert I purchased in July. Smooth sailing through check-in, nice work by the starter on communicating our position in the line up, and good service in the restaurant. The experience was good. We were scheduled to go out with another twosome but they did not show up so we had the course to ourselves. Literally it seemed. We never saw anyone in front of us. The ladies behind pressed us on the first hole and when we were putting on the second, then we did not see them again until 18. About 3.5 hours POP, re-doing many putts we missed and generally taking our time.

The course was in pretty good shape. The tees, fairways, rough and bunkers were all in lush and excellent shape. There was not much roll, have to think the rain softened it up some. The greens were okay. Fairly soft so showing footprints but generally the ball rolled well. There were some problems around the edges of some greens where they had sand in place. Still a temporary on No. 7.

Overall, a good experience. It was a great deal at the price and the POP and service were top notch.

Played a late Sunday afternoon round in around five hours - par for Redhawk. The course is in pretty good shape with a temp green on hole seven. Tee boxes were in good shape maybe a little thin but very playable. The fairways were very short and we found many tight lies during the round. The traps I found myself in were in much better shape than I've found them in the past. The rough was very thick and very long on most holes - made finding wayward shots difficult. Hitting from the rough was a challenge as well. The greens were very very damp for being so late in the day and were extremely bumpy with many ball marks. The staff is always friendly here. Great challenging course with nice views on several holes of the valley and mountains.

Played on Sunday Oct. 9th. Had a good time although I've seen the course in better shape, but I've seen it worse, as well. I think they are trying to bring it back to where it used to be back in the day. Greens were hit and miss. Some of them were just awful, especially around the edges. Others were ok. They all held shots well, but they were pretty bumpy. Teeboxes were also a mixed bag, they had the blacks up with the blues, maybe the Golds were good, but I was too hungover to play the tips. Lots of bare spots on the teeboxes. Bunkers were just ok. I found a fairway bunker and it was decent. Fairways were probably the highlight. They were all pretty darn good. Always had good lies. POP not a factor, pretty empty out there cuz it was warm and Sunday, guys watching the Chargers lose again. I'd say get out there if you can get a decent deal. We played twilight on a Sunday for $40, so that's not bad. Oh forgot to mention, temp green on #7 BEWARE. No mention of it anywhere, no sign, nothing. My buddy clocks his drive and then smashes a 3 wood onto the normal green, we couldn't tell that there was a temp green about 40 yards short of the real green. We were pretty pissed.

First off and first in under three hours - only held up on the front nine by the ground crew as they were placing pins and mowing the greens! Great customer service and friendly staff as always. The tee boxes were in very good condition. The fairways are in good shape with only a few tight lies here and there during the round. The rough is very thick and has been left to grow much more than in previous years. The greens on the front nine were not in their usual condition. There were a few greens with bare spots and a couple had patches of sod? I've never seen this before at Redhawk - guessing the heat had something to do with that. The back nine greens are in great shape and rolled very well. The fairway bunkers are for the most part hard and harder - with very little sand in them. The course always seems to be busy, which tells me that it is a course worth playing!
