It has been about 5-6 years since I played here. Always enjoyed this course, particularly the par 3 holes. ( I feel Redhawk has the best group of par 3 holes in So. Cal) The course was very busy this Columbus Day, but the starter, Gino was able to get us out first. Waited quite a bit for maintenance on the front nine, but played the back without delay. Just a tick over 2 1/2 hours to finish the round. Very disappointed with the greens and greenside bunkers. Still some residual bumpiness from the recent aeration. However it was the numerous bare spots which are of greater concern. I was in three greenside bunkers, and all were hardpan lies. The rest of the course was OK, The rough was brutal, but they are in the process of cutting it. Lost two balls in the rough, which rolled in just off the fairway. (U S Open thickness in spots) The demographics of the course seems to have changed, so I suspect it will be a while before I return. Like the course, just wasn't crazy about all the chaos in the early morning there

Had a 10:12 tee time on a friday didnt get out til 10:40 as a single. The front nine was pretty good took 1 1/2 hours to. But then the back 9 took over 2 1/2 hours to complete had a 4some in front that wouldnt let me play through no marshall anywhere to speed them up. The course was pretty nice except for the bunkers they are crap like hitting off concrete. Glad it was my free birthday round. Doubt i will be back. Just didnt have a good vibe there.

If you enjoy 5-5.5 hour rounds (I don't even if they are free), then don't play Redhawk late morning on a weekend! I have played 30-40 times here and never had such a painfully slow round!! The course is in pretty good shape from the tees to the greens. The rough was fairly thick and made finding balls in it impossible at times. The greens were a little too damp for us even late in the round. The only place really needing attention on the course were the traps. Several of the traps (green side) were rock hard - like you would find in a fairway bunker. The views from the 17th tee are some of the best around. We will definitely be back - but much earlier in the morning!!

Rough was not that long , but the ball would sit down in it. As said by most others, the greens were very soft from over watering which left a lot of foot prints making some short putts around the hole very bumpy. Love the layout of this course, and would like to come back when its not as hot and the greens don't need to have so much watering.

I first want to thank everyone that came out and especially AndrewZ28 with all the awesome Linksoul.com gear. Also thank you Redhawk for having us. This was a great GK Plays outing! Despite the blazing heat, some empty water coolers and the green complexes being soaked down to combat the hot weather, I still thought it was a very enjoyable golf experience. I thought the staff at Redhawk was accommodating/professional to me as a group organizer. I liked how the carts were staged near the clubhouse and practice putting green to keep things organized. I also really liked having the small, beautiful Cantina bar/restaurant to use for after golf. Very relaxing place to chill after the round. As for the playing conditions, I expected the course to be in better shape but still thought it was in good shape and had the greens not been soaked down due to the heat, I think I would have considered it to be in great shape. Granted the 18th green was pretty chewed up from ball marks and more so what appeared to be a burn mark across the green from a lawnmower fluid leak. But other than the 18th green, and the softness of greens due to being soaked, the greens looked to be in excellent shape. I would like to come back and play them more firm. Regarding the fairways, I had great lies all day, they were cut tight and provided lots of roll. The rough was thin in some spots adjacent to the fairway but around the greens lush and penalizing. As for the bunkers, although raked nice and looked good, most were very firm and thin on sand. This made them particularly challenging. Finally the tee boxes, mostly level, lush and well groomed. Overall I was pleased with the conditions of the course. Having played Redhawk GC now close to ½ dozen times, I always enjoy the layout. Never a boring hole with one of the best sets of Par 3’s I have found anywhere. The par 3 hole 8 is spectacular. I enjoy the many risk/reward shots and challenge. It’s a course where you have to putt and chip well to have any chance of scoring decent. Fun track – will be back! Highly recommend for group play.

Played on Sunday the 16th and there is not much more to add to the previous posts as they are spot on. The over saturation of some of the areas of the course is the only complaint I would have. The course is fun and challenging. Love playing here and the staff is always top notch. Thanks Redhawk for making this outing a great time.

Played on Sunday, August 16th with GKers hbtim1967, JohnnyGK, and Mattias in 108 degree weather with a light wind that would come and go. The course was in remarkable condition overall even with the drought. The Redhawk Golf Club staff were tops from the starter to the snack bar lady, they were attentive and glad we were with them this day! We appreciated being with them also even with the elevated temperature! The golf course was in good to very good shape and does not have unusual features to play with your psyche! The tee boxes had good grass, were mostly level, and had minimal divot damage. The fairways were lush to mostly lush and cut to just the right height to leave your ball in a good lie and if you managed to catch the back side of an undulation there was a bonus 5 to 10 yards to be gained. The rough, though mostly short, allowed your ball to nestle in causing you to have to come in steep to get a clean hit and advance the ball toward the green. The fairway bunkers I was in had minimal sand mixed with soil, watered and dried out, to become like hardpan. Nevertheless, I used my hybrid and escaped both of them cleanly! The greenside bunkers were a mixed bag for me being wet in places and firm 6 inches further away from the green on the rollback! The greens were rolling true at my estimate of 10 to 11 on the Stimp, were green and damp in places, and of course, there were some ball marks that the previous groups had repaired. Thanks guys! I would like to thank Redhawk Golf Club for having us and JohnnyGK for arranging another sucessful GK Plays for us all to enjoy. I parred four holes which is a new record for me at a GK event and got to see some friends I haven't seen in a while! We welcomed two new GK members and one of them's 81 year old father who appeared to be having a great time! We enjoyed Rico's Cantina with food and drinks while Johnny became MC and rewarded everyone in attendence with some swag! Special thanks to LinkSoul for providing some of their great golf shirts and tee shirts and to AndrewZ28 for bringing them to us to enjoy! What a guy! I can highly recommend Redhawk Golf Club as a challenging test of your golfing skills and I will happily come back and play this course in the future. Jesse

Played in latest edition of GK Plays. It was a hot, slow round but with the company it made the time pass quickly. If that makes any sense. I was surprised since we were neither pushed by the group behind or in the process of pushing the group ahead.

Greens were wettish towards the later part of the afternoon. Loads of heavy footprints after they soaked greens. The greens though rolled pretty true and fast. The last hole 18 has a stripe from what looks like an oil leak but that should heal quickly.

Fairways had good coverage; some thin lies but definitely playable. Rough was thick and sticky. Bunkers are stocked with a thin layer of sand so had to adjust my game to play out of some of these bunkers. Tee boxes were flat and playable.

Thanks to staff who were helpful and showed up just in time as heat was really causing us to melt out there. Water stations are everywhere you just have to look for them and the signage. Finally found one by hole 7 but was told there were two more I missed previously.

This was a fun challenging course. Just wish my bookend doubles weren't on the scorecard otherwise I would have done well that day. Looking forward to the next time I find myself at Redhawk. It was fun, challenging day of golf. The company a definite plus. Thanks GK and thanks Redhawk for a great GK Plays!
