Have I stated this is one of my favorite courses ? lol! Despite the hour drive to Glen Ivy, my folks were happy to trek out to play this wonderful course. As always the finishing holes builds up to the final hole where you tee off the cliff to a landing area hundreds of feet down... and be careful of the club you use as the water does come in play on your drive.
The course is in fantastic shape and the personnel were pretty upfront about the conditions - as we called a few weeks before and were told of the ongoing maintenance being done.

Anyway. greens are mint. no damage. Fairways in good condition. Saw the bev cart and marshall a few times. And bev girl was super friendly.

Overall - a great course with lots of variety of holes - never boring and always keeping you on your toes. Definitely will be planning a return trip soon.

Played Trilogy 5/11/13 with an 0832 Tee Time. I am thrilled to report that the course is in the best condition in years. Tee boxes, greens, traps and most fairways were in great shape.

The traps were perhaps the best feature. So often in SC you get lousy sand and it's very difficult to not bounce your club off of hardpan. I was in three traps yesterday and they all were perfect. Greens were in great shape as well-rolling true and consistent. The only negative was that a few fairways were not 100% with a couple of bare spots. The staff was excellent and the food good in the 19th hole. Do yourself a favor and play Trilogy (Glen Ivy) now.

I tend to go out to the Inland Empire a whole lot for golf, and I am shocked it's taken me this long to head out to this real solid track. I booked the time on their website for $45 a person, which seemed pretty reasonable for 11 am on a weekday. When we pulled up, the staff was eager to help, they offered a free yardage book and tees (I know the yardage book is because they've held out on GPS so far, but I use a Bushnell anyways, and having a pretty solid yardage book was nice) and had us ready to go quickly.

Note: one of the poorer driving ranges I've ever seen, just ahead of Hidden Valley, so I took a pass on that.

The starter was nice, there was an older guy walking a couple of dogs and relaxing, I don't know why it stuck out, but it had a relaxing feel to the start of my round. I played from the black tees- the boxes aren't all that good (but that's common, their money is better spent improving the other tees), the tee grass was a little too long, and not all that even. Don't cry for me, Argentina.

The front nine is fairly straightforward, there's a good sense of risk/reward with each shot, but not all that demanding. The greens roll true, are very firm but really receptive to spin. I mean REALLY receptive. The 10th hole is a bomber's dream (if they can keep it relatively straight), from there you gradually transition to an entirely different course. Luckily, I was playing with someone who knows the course when we got to 16, he told me to rip a mean fade starting down the center of the fairway. OK, I didn't heed the advice, I just decided to cut the corner straightaway, with a baby fade. I had no idea how that fairway funnels down, and got awful close to the water, but that put me basically on the fringe of the green. I'm playing there this weekend, 16 and 18 will be fairway metal holes this time.

18 is a 200-foot drop with un-playable lies on the right, and water on the left. It was fun playing a 425-yard drive, but if you're a bigger hitter, do yourself a favor and keep the big dog in the bag. Or hulk out, and hope for a good break from the golf gods.

All this in 4 hours, it went by too quick!

Played yesterday PM with 2 buddies. Nice warm day with small crowds? Looks like they may be getting ready to do some work on the course soon. They were working on the practice range so it was only mats to hit from but no big deal. Fairways were so so in that they were still dormant but with good roll. Some fairways full of patchy grass. Tee boxes were very thick and lush, maybe they were growing in from recent seeding, who knows? The greens were the highlight of the course. They were really smooth, very little ball mark damage and just a deep shade of green. The speeds were medium fast so putting was easy. The down side was a group of certain people who just refuse to use the rake in the bunkers. I cant believe how bad and disturbing this is!!! My partner said I shouldn’t accuse them of not raking until we see it happen, so we made a wager on it...... needless to say I won! Anyway, 27 holes of good fun golf!

Played Glen Ivy with fellow GK’er Alaksana on Sunday 2/10 with a tee time of 10:40 but arrived early and the course wasn’t that busy so they let us out early at 10am. Some back story, our original tee time was the day before at 11am. I knew that due to the weather there would be a frost delay so I called the pro shop and spoke with the infamous KJ to ask about the delays. He said they did have a frost delay early in the morning but by the time our tee time rolled around they would be caught up or within 15-20 minutes of the schedule. So we made the hour drive only to find when we arrived, 150-175 players on the course (according to the starter), and that they were running behind about an hour and a half! I was steamed to say the least. Please don’t lie to me and make drive that far for nothing! We had dinner plans and there was no way we could tee off at 1230pm and make it on time so we rescheduled for the following day.

Customer Service/Facilities- Checked in with KJ and I mentioned the delays from the day before and he shrugged it off like he doesn’t care. But the starter was very friendly and affable so that made up for Mr. Personality in the Pro Shop. Clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant, snack bar, and restrooms are all nice, clean, and well kept.

Tees- Mostly good with a couple that were uneven and in need of a mower.

Fairways- Probably the worst part of the course today. Winter conditions with a couple different types of grass growing in them so you had some areas of dormant grass with clumps of green grass coming through. These clumps were ever present and posed a serious challenge as most of the time my ball would come to rest right next to one.

Rough- Mostly lush with some thin bare areas but only saw a couple of those

Bunkers- Half and half. Some were very nice with fluffy sand while others had small rocks in them. Not pebbles but actual rocks. No bueno and watch your clubs fellow GK’ers.

Greens- By far the best part of the course. Fully recovered from the issues they had over the summer. Rolling true with good speed to them. Watch out if you are above the hole.

Misc- POP was 5 hours today. We breezed through the front 9 but ran into some slower groups on the back. Holes 14-18 were frigid as they were lingering clouds above the mountains on that part of the course. Even got a few sprinkles. I’ve always loved the design on Glen Ivy and will be back for sure. Course has always been fair. It will reward good shots and penalize those that go astray. Be sure to call ahead a couple of times during the cold season to check on any potential delays. #18 is still one of my all-time favorite holes in So Cal.

Played here today, 2/06/12. Course in great shape, but my real comment is regarding the EXCELLENT customer service. I had been invited to play here by a friend that works at this course part time. A discount is given to guests of employees. With that said, the pro-shop asst. named "Joe", treated me as good as a member of this course. His friendly and courteous attitude should be the norm for ALL courses. So, thanks, to Joe and thanks to the hard working guys that go the extra distance to make each day of playing this wonderful game a real joy.

What a difference in the condition the greens are in, compared to the last time I played here late last summer. Last summer it looked like they were losing their greens, I would have rated them Poor, now they are very good among the best I have played this winter. Very fast and smooth, you can see where they patched some areas, but meshed very well. Well done to the maintenance crew.
T boxes on par 4 and 5's were also in very good condition, 3's were a little chewed, but fair.
Fairways were in fair condition, with mostly dormant grass and spurts of growing grass here and there, that made them bumpy and visually unapealing.
POP was slow for are twosome, starting at 11am on a Wednesday, so we played the front 9 again to get a full 18 in and be done by 3PM, it probably would have been a five hour round, if we played the whole course.
No GPS.
Take a foursome and enjoy the greens.

Played with fellow GK Kraig today and the weather was perfect. mid 70s. Course was in very nice shape. Greens were fast, fast enough for me to 3 putt a few times LOL! (but that was my fault for not going to the practice greens first). I love the greens here.

The course played a bit longer on the back9 due to the uphill shots and the wind - making short par4 and5s deceptively harder.

Fairway grass was dormant and brown. Firm but playable which gives your drives an extra 20 yards of roll! haha..

Staff was polite and professional. Upon my arrival, we were brought 2 carts to our car and a great welcome. Checkin was smooth and starter was helpful and efficient.
Saw the cart girl a few times.

Pace was a bit off due to a mini tournament in front of us and we finished a little over 5 hours.

Overall, a fun experience and as always the great views and design makes it a must play course in the area.
