Getting more and more difficult to find tee times, but able to get back out to Moreno Valley Ranch - I mean Rancho Del Sol. Not much has changed since my last time here. Still a bit scruffy, with inconsistent fairways, but playable. Greens were better than expected considering they aerated earlier this month. I found several bunkers, which all had sand, but were in various condition. Tee boxes could use some attention.

Staff is always friendly here and pleasant to deal with. Miss having three nines to play, but I'm happy they at least have 18. I thought that when this place closed a few years ago, it was gome forever. Thankfully I was wrong.

Played on an overcast Saturday morning. Greens good, healing from a recent punching but mostly puttable. Fairways and rough as usual kind of scruffy. Bunkers mostly had good sand. Nice cart girl came by several times. The downer was this group of mooks playing 2 vs 2 best ball game that were dreadfully slow. Hit ball after ball. While there is a friendly Marshall there was no evidence he did anything to improve pace of play. Reported their slowness to the starter at the turn to no avail. Oh well, that’s weekend golf these days.

Always enjoy getting back out to Moreno Valley Ranch - excuse me - Rancho Del Sol. This course just beats me up! I like many of the visuals, but despite that I struggle. I think that because the front nine has several very long par 4 holes I can no longer reach in regulation, I am always several over par entering the back nine, so it is a real struggle to put up a good number because of that.

Not much to disagree with in Mark's recent review. Not as soft as expected in the fairways, so things have obviously dried out. Greens were the best part of the course. I like the par 3 18th hole, but kind of wish it were not the finishing hole.

I saw Rancho Del Sol had a bunch of midday tee times available today, so I just drove out there and arrived a little after 12:30. Checked in and a foursome had just teed off, and the starter said there was no one else scheduled for a bit, so he sent me off alone. The foursome in front let me play through on the 5th hole and then I caught a twosome on 9, so I slowed down and took lots of pictures on the back nine. I was in my car headed home by 4:20, so amazing POP. Conditions, as usual here, are mixed. Greens are really nice, mostly smooth although there were quite a few ball marks on them. They run around medium speed and are VERY soft. Full shots stop quickly and make large ball marks on the green that are difficult to completely fix without leaving evidence. Fairways have good coverage but it's a couple different types of grasses and also some wet/muddy spots here and there. Maybe I got bad luck, but it seemed a few times I was in the middle of the fairway with an odd sidehill lie. Normal rough is about 3-4 inches deep and can be penal. There's also deeper stuff when farther offline. I was only in one bunker and it was mediocre. I had a downhill lie to an elevated green from pretty hard-packed sand, which was virtually impossible to escape the bunker. At least my next shot was from the flatter bottom of the bunker with a little better sand quality. Black tee boxes have good coverage but many are quite lumpy. (Seemed like they forgot to put the black markers out on No. 11 today, though. I believe today was the first time I've seen the blacks out in the handful of times I've been there since they reopened.) The way things worked out, I pretty much had Nos. 15 & 16 all to myself for about half an hour with no one in sight in front or behind me, which was heavenly. Not sure why this course continues to fly under the radar since it reopened. Attractive tee times were difficult to find today but RDS had plenty at their midday weekend rate of $55 w/cart, which is fair. Admittedly it's a little scruffy around the edges, but the layout and the greens outweigh that in my book.

First out at 6:30am. Temperatures were forecast to be mid 90's so glad to get out early and finish in well under three hours. Staff was accommodating and allowed us to get out a few minutes prior to our tee time.

Without question, the greens were the best I've played on anywhere this year, including a number of private venues. Not super-fast, but very receptive and they rolled as true as any greens I have ever played on. Very impressed! Fairways were generally good but had areas which needed attention. Bunkers were all overwatered and none were raked/maintained. Tee boxes could use some work as well.

I love the Mountain nine but am not a fan of the other nine. Bottom line is we beat the heat, enjoyed wonderful greens, and had a nice Monday morning of golf.

Played at 9 AM today, as a 2 sum were done in 3 hours...greens about as good as any in the Inland Empire...Fairways are getting filled in and green giving about 12 holes good coverage...still some bare spots but getting better as summer grass is growing...sand traps like just about any where, plenty of sand around greens but fairway bunkers nothing but hard pan and a lot of weeds in some Will play again soon, $45 for seniors, $55 for the under 50 crowed Monday to Thursday, worth the fare...

Always look forward to returning to Moreno Valley Ranch (I mean Rancho Del Sol) The staff is friendly and give the impression they are glad for are patronizing the course. While I miss having three nines to choose from, the two nine holes they saved are just fine. Still partial to the Mountain nine.

Mark's recent review touches all the bases. Not a whole lot I can add. Agree that the greens are the highlight of the course. Other than the tee boxes, the course is in decent condition, with a few bunkers needing attention. I have to admit that I did not notice the "dye job" on the last five holes, but maybe I just paying attention? Sure is nice to have this course back in the rotation.

Played here today with a 12:30 tee time booked direct on their site for $40. Arrived about an hour early and checked in, and then headed up to the practice green and starter. The starter was really friendly and said it was very busy but he'd try to get me out early if possible. Around 12:10 the next group only had 3 players and he set me up with them. Started around 12:20 and finished four hours and 15 minutes later, but it felt much longer. We quickly lost sight of the group in front of us and by the fourth hole or so, the group behind us was on our butts. None of the other guys in my group seemed to notice until I said something on the 8th tee. We picked up the pace a bit but maybe I get too stressed out when I feel like my group is holding things up. Like I said, we finished in 4:15 so our pace was good. Started off mostly sunny but then got mostly cloudy for the back nine; sort of a bummer but otherwise fantastic weather: Low 70s, no wind.

As usual here, conditions are mixed. Greens are far and away the highlight, rolling smooth, medium fast and about medium firmness. Some ball marks really dented the green and were hard to fix satisfactorily. Full shots stopped quickly; chips and low shots would run a bit. Fairways are decent. Pretty consistent coverage, a bit thin, and then the fairways of the last five holes are treated with colorant to make them look dark green. Rough is definitely a step down from the fairway conditions, with various grasses, some bare spots, clover in spots, and generally just sorta clumpy. Keep it in the fairway! Bunkers are also all over the map. I was in a couple that were full of great, loose sand, but one of them was not raked and my ball ended up in a giant, deep footprint. Another fairway bunker I was in looked like they've given up on it and turned it into a waste bunker. Blue tee boxes were ok, with par 3s more beat up than the rest of the course. Overall the course is pretty scruffy with nice greens.

Got out early on a very cold Sunday morning... We teed off at 7am with the temp at 35* degrees. Was surprised they let us out due to the fairways and greens being covered in ice. Took us awhile to warm up once the sun popped up over the hills. The course overall was enjoyable. Two completely different 9's that's for sure. Tee boxes were decent not great and the course had a lot of dry spots and dormancy which is expected at this time of year. You really got to hit your targets here or you will get penalized. A lot of sloped fairways with a wash or ravine running through the front 9 that you have to be careful to not hit into. Comes into play quite a bit. First time here so it got me on a couple of holes... Bunkers were fair and had ample sand and played well. Rough was inconsistent with short to no rough to long and chunky rough throughout. Greens were rock hard due to the freezing conditions but were very nice, they just weren't rolling true due to the frost and ice. The course was very enjoyable and we definitely liked the back 9 more so than the front. There was a cart girl so that was nice... Only negative thing for me is I do not like ending on a par 3. Not sure if they ran out of room for a par 4 but oh well. Fun track if you're in the area
