I played here in my tournament club today. This club is tucked away in an established residential neighborhood. This is an old school style layout. Many mature tree-lined fairways. Fairways are pretty flat and firm. You will get a lot of rollout. The rough is kept pretty short. Easy play out. Bunkers need some sand. Very firm almost compacted. Greenskeeper needs to churn up the base. Greens are FAST. It looks like they have been aerated recently. Greens have a lot tricky undulation. Several multi-tier greens. I like the challenge here (didn't score well) but I would play it again.

I don't think I've ever said about a course that one of my favorite things about it is looking at the houses that surround it. Beautiful varied older houses most with a large footprint and each one with its own personality. That said, on at least a third of the holes, there is little protection from a slice heading into the street and making residence in one of these houses. Maybe the cars driving up and down the streets provide some protection - but I don't think of that as a plus.

Got a great rate on-line when little else was available out there and have wanted to check this place out for the last couple of years. Conditions were mostly fair and below. Greens were decent with the punch marks being mostly visual. Fairway thin, rough varied, bunkers a bit inconsistent and had too many pebbles or stones in them. The worst was around the greens where the patchy thin grass made hitting soft shots over the many bunkers frustrating.

I think the grass around the greens and the tension of this potentially being the most expensive round I've ever played make this a one and done for me, but I think many would overlook these problems and be glad to have a decent place to get a round in.

Played the whites at ACC today at 9:30 with a POP of about 4:30. Perfect fall weather. I think there was a lighter than average number of players out there today, as we rarely waited even though we caught the group ahead of us by hole 6. Preservation Golf LLC is still making many improvements here. Continued landscaping, tree maintenance, construction progress to the Pro shop and the snack bar(kitchen and dining room).

Fairways, 3 out of 5
Bunkers, still 2 out of 5, they were pretty damp today and were groomed before the watering.
Rough, 3 out of 5, here is where the overseed is coming in nicely and many of those areas are now roped off to allow it take and get through coming winter.
Greens, 3 out of 5, the aeration is healing slower than I was expecting. They are still nice for any approach shots and putted at medium to medium-fast speeds. I had 31 putts today.

There are now vast changes to the look and feel of the website. They are staying semi-private. The non-member guest rate is now listed as resident or non-resident. My group qualified for the resident rate of $59, the non-resident rate would have been $64. 2weeks ago, the weekend flat guest rate was $54, so prices have risen. I didn't ask, but does a resident vs non-resident guest rate, indicate that there are municipal subsidies available to the course? Hmmm. Keep it up ACC.

Played ACC today at 11:50 with a POP of just under 4 hours due to fewer golfers(so we took our 'sweet' time). I think Halloween miiight just be a good day in the future to BOOk a round, as it seems to have lighter than normal pressure on the tee 'sheets'? Preservation Golf LLC purchased ACC and there are many improvements going on here. I saw many improvements; like landscaping, building maintenance, serious re-construction to the snack bar(kitchen and dining room) between 9 & 10, better tree husbandry, many bunkers and a tee box. Good to see this 'raising the dead' work happening.

Rough, 3 out of 5, mixed bag of grasses but thankfully at sensible depths
Greens, 3 out of 5, only because the big tine aeration isn't visually healed, but it just about plays like it is. They were nice for any approach shots and putted at medium to medium-fast speeds.

Looking forward to seeing continued improvements here, so I can enjoy this course and bring them more of my business.

Played this morning with a 7:20 tee time and we got off on time. Checkin is in the golf shop but its bare bones in there. Looks like its being remodeled along with the snack shop over by the 10th tee. Paid $34 senior rate with a cart.
Tee boxes are level and have good coverage. Fairways have good coverage with just a few brown spots. The rough is pretty low and not much of an issue.
The bunkers are terrible nothing but hard packed dirt with some having standing water.
The greens are decent and rolled medium speed. Almost every green had lines of brown spots which look like a leaking mower.
Pace was right at 4 hours even though we waited a lot on the five some ahead of us.
I was told that the course has been sold again and the new owners plan on spending lots of money to bring this course back to how it was when it was private. Apparently one of the problems is that most of the equipment they inherited is junk. New machines are on order but everything is back ordered due to all the supply chain problems going on nationwide. They will be punching soon and plan on working on the bunkers and installing new sand. They have cut down quite a few trees which opens things up.
Its a fun track and I hope they spend some money.

Played here 5/28 at 7:10, for a walking rate of $40. No one in front of or behind me till hole 5, a riding twosome caught me and then played through. I came to work on some skills and scrambling, and got what I was seeking.
The greens were healthy and receiving everything. However, they were slower than expected. I started with the practice green, and quickly decided to spend all my warm up there and forego the range. This paid off to keep my putting total in check.
The areas around the greens and the rough were good and lush...well, more lush than the fairways. The fairways are coming in, just not as green and lush as I would prefer. The tees were a little chewed and firm. The bunkers weren't great, but not bad either...I had no issues and rakes are present.
This is a parkland style course with very few 'filler' areas that don't see play, and lots of trees. That said, these filler areas and among the trees, are clearly drier than usual.
The drink cart came around twice, and the crews were working the course. Even though they are working the course, the place has that limited maintenance look and feel. The ball washers are back, but not the sand bottles. Only the limited pro shop is open with cold drinks, the bar and restaurant are still closed. I want to see the place improve and I would play here again...but I can see why the tee sheets are very available.

The fairway is frost bitten and the rough is now an unknown mix of dirt and grass. The tees are not level. The greens are just OK. If you chose to go here, take a step back and imagine how nice this course was just few years ago when it was private. The layout is ideal for a great course, but is not even close now. If it hangs around til Spring/Summer then I would go back, but until then I wouldn't play again unless its a really good deal. I have a feeling that sometime in the next few years this will be a brand new track home community....without a golf course.
