I played Sunday 6-11-17. I had this round planned for a few weeks so I was very happy to see some positive recent reviews. I used a Group Golfer deal and played solo. The course was fairly empty so I got out a bit earlier than my 11am tee time. I was a bit disappointed that they don’t have logo balls but the guy in the shop was very nice and comp’d me a ball marker – gotta have something for the collection!

The course was great. The fairways are flat, wide, and lined with big trees. There is no signage marking the holes but with the help of the map on the scorecard it wasn’t hard to find my way around. Everything from tee to green was lush and green with hardly a divot to be found. It’s nice to see a course where the players are so obviously diligent in doing their part to keep the course in good condition. The greens were firm and pretty fast. I was impressed with the razor-sharp edging around the greens and the cups. The several bunkers I found were all in good shape with clean, soft, well- raked sand. The only bad thing on the course was just about every ball washer was broken, dry and encrusted with bird droppings. I didn’t ask, but I would assume fixing those is in the plans.

I finished in 3 hours. I really enjoyed the course and would like very much to play there again.

Yikes, I almost hate to review this and let the secret get out but duty calls. As noted in other reviews, ACC has been a private golf course until recently. It looks like declining membership resulted in the course being sold and the new ownership has made is semi private now.

First, the not so good. Club house really looks like it has seen better days but the cart kid told us they were planning on a major renovation. It also felt like there was more than a bit of culture clash going on between the old members and the public golfers. To be fair, we saw a couple of yahoos trying to skip holes and whose attire was marginal if you know what I mean. We had no problems, but we were dressed nicely and observed proper etiquette. Still, feeling like you are being judged is a little uncomfortable.

That being said, the course is terrific. Outside of the Palm Springs area, perhaps the best conditioned track I've played in Southern California in a long time with the possible exception of the Goose. It's an old school, tree lined and flat layout. Very typical of William Bell designs. Deceptively hard, as overhanging tree limbs and awkward angles into the greens if youre not on the correct side of the fairway make this a challenge. Ball doesn't roll much on the lush fairways. Fairways, tee boxes and greens in excellent shape. Nice soft sand in the bunkers.

Excellent pace of play, we got done in just over 3 hours. We paid a midweek price of $45 for seniors. This is a about 50% more than we'd pay for nearby Shandin or Yucaipa but it's in a different league. Had an excellent sandwich and a beer after we played. A great addition to the 909 public golf scene.

This course used to be private for 50 years but is now semi-private. It is still a nice course but I played it a few years ago when it was private and I can see the difference.

Course is still in good condition. Greens are very hard to read. Pace of play on a Sunday afternoon, June 4 was just over three hours which is much better than the public courses in the Inland Empire.

Noticed cut backs in service staff but I guess that is how the new owners must find a way to make a profit.

If this course wasn't located in San Bernardino it would have remained private and would be full of members. Just compare its location to Redlands CC a few miles away.

I will play again next time I am in the area.

Typical William P. Bell course. Very traditional much like Brookside in Pasadena. Wide fairways and multi tier greens. Fairways are tree lined, but you can still work your way through them. Some of the greens are well bunkered and some very tight pin positions make getting close to the flag a challenge. Course was built back in the 1940's so very mature trees where some of them come into play on your approach shots to the greens so positioning is important. Easy course to walk and enjoyable. This was a private course, but was sold about 2 months ago and turned public.

Formally a member only club but has been transformed into a public course. It's an older course but don't let that discourage your opinion to play. We made a tee time on Golf Now and got a great "Hot Tee Time" rate. Arrived approx 45 minutes prior to our tee time and got a small warm up bucket ($4). It's a smaller range and hitting driver is restricted during play but that was really not an issue fir me. Hit about 40 balls using my mid and short irons before moving over to the putting green. The practice area was a good indication of what to expect on the course. Quick, firm greens with good roll. Needed a little help finding the first tee box. The holes are not identified anywhere are the course. So just follow the cart path and you'll do just fine. Tee boxes were in excellent condition. This course is quite a bit different from the courses I normally play. Situated in the center of a housing tract. The course does not wind through the neighborhood but it's just simply situated on an entire city block. It's compact but still roomy enough to play. The fairways, greens, hazards and landscape are all in excellent condition. No cart girl on a Thursday. I don't know if one is even employed there. We got off on time and finished in exactly 4 hours. No waiting on the fairway or at a tee box. We didn't sample the 19th green. So no comment there. In conclusion, staff, carts and play were top shelf. I'll be returning to play again and I'm hoping for a similar experience. Give it a try. I'm guessing you will be pleasantly surprised.

First time I have played this course. It was pretty much what I expected, an old style traditional layout, which is the type course I prefer. I thought the overall condition was very nice, particularly the greens. There were several holes which had some very interesting and challenging green complexes. The bunkering around the greens were also very well done.

Unfortunately I played possibly the worst golf I have played in, maybe 10 years, but despite that I enjoyed the round. I think that if you can play so poorly and still walk off and say you had a good time, then that speaks volumes.

Gill in the pro shop was very accommodating and friendly. Maybe because of the threat of possible rain, maybe because it was early, maybe because it was Monday, but the place was deserted except for one single. We enjoyed a very easy pace playing behind him and still finished in under three hours.

How I wish this course was closer to my house. This is an old school style course that just opened to the public. If you are a beginner or high handicapper you may be culture shocked at these things..... Continue »

How I wish this course was closer to my house. This is an old school style course that just opened to the public. If you are a beginner or high handicapper you may be culture shocked at these things...1. fairways are narrower than a typical muni course 2. more comes into play off the tee, and around the greens 3. rough is a little higher 4. greens have more slope 5. there are no fences to keep your ball from going OB I didn't play well but I love this layout. Anytime a course is walkable, fun, and challenges your ball striking is a keeper. I heard someone had their clubs stolen from a kid right off the cart, thrown in a car and they sped away. The area is nice surrounding the course but be aware that with no fences a kid could run out and take your clubs. Everything condition wise is nice nice nice!!

Played on April 26th and again on May 2nd. Really like this course.... first of all, Gil in the pro shop is great. Very personable and accommodating. I agree with the OP that the members are a little snooty, but not bad. I left my wedge on the green and the foursome behind us, who were members, returned it and were very nice and courteous.

I'm comparing this course to Yucaipa and Sierra Lakes. Definitely a step up from Yucaipa, and not quite as good condition as Sierra Lakes. The Pro shop is pretty sparse.
Driving range is just OK, but a nice chipping green and putting green.
The course is in very good condition. It's long and flat. It seems that every hole is either 500 yd par 5 or 185 to 195 par 3. All in all, very enjoyable and reasonable price. Golf now has a hot deal during the noon hour, but after you pay the booking fee, it's not that great a deal.


We plan on playing again as it's very convenient and enjoyable.

No longer a private Country Club....very well maintained, love the bent grass greens... a fairly flat course with long par 3's. Old members still getting over the course becoming Semi-Private so as a Public player just remember you paid the green fee so the use of the course is just as much yours as theirs and ignore their attitudes. Well worth playing at least once, by far the best course out of the three in San Bernardino.
