Played Arrowhead CC early 10/17/20. The course is in alright condition, greens are for the most part alright, I saw a few areas of dead grass or dirt on the edges of the greens. The fairways have seen better days, as crabgrass has started to take over in parts, but not unplayable. The sand is dirt so it's 50/50 what you get, one hole soft, the next hardpack. Overall, the course is fun, long, and challenging at times yet not impossible. I would play here again without question. Actually, would love another crack at this one, because my game fits this style. Any deal under $50 is worth it. The par 3's are long.

Played here Sat 9/19 with my monthly mens club on a hot and somewhat smokey day. The staff was great and we got off without a hitch. Pace of play was right at 4 hours.The range and practice green are open with mats on the range and no flags on the green.
We played the whites and the tee boxes were good with some of the par three's a little beat up but nothing too bad. The fairways had good coverage but they were a mixture of different grasses. There are some brown/dry spots in the fairways and the rough. Errant shots here can end up in the surrounding streets of someones front yard as the course is in a residential neighborhood.
The bunkers are typical covid condition with no rakes and some foot prints to deal with. They did have ample sand.
The greens were in good condition with good coverage and very few old ball marks. Overall they were on the slow side. Most greens were small and had some slope back to front.
Typical covid precautions in place with masks required anound the clubhouse and no access inside. There was someone at the door providing drinks and snacks and we sat on the outside patio after the round for a short while. No ball washers or rakes and no water available out on the coruse. We did see the cart several times during the round.
All day long we watched the big tankers flying over on their way to refill with fire retardant.

Rode the Blues (6619/72.6/132) with FirstflightFX-101 in our GK Cup match in slightly less than 4.5H. The weather was sunny, windy and in the upper 60's. My first time here, very traditional, old school parkland style layout. Lots of mature trees, fairly tight in spots, there are few homes that border the holes but several holes border residential streets. Unless you are very straight, better have a solid go to punch shot on this course. Tees had okay coverage and were winter thin. Average at best. Fairways spotty, winter thin and firm, lots of roll made for some long drives. Rough spotty, winter thin, not much different than the fairways although because of the wind, leaves, twigs and broken tree limbs were everywhere. Often tough to find your ball. Sand mediocre. Not well maintained and too many rocks in them. Smallish greens very good. Firm, smooth and medium fast. Tree lined layout and older clubhouse reminded me of the course I grew up playing. Neither looks like they have been significantly updated in decades. No on course staff present, no really needed on a windy day with few players. Basic carts do not have GPS. Friendly and efficient check-in with the pro shop. Quick and attentive service in the restaurant after the round, food was good and priced reasonably for a golf course. Smallish driving range off mats. Recomended, decent layout, just know going in that the course is rough sround the edges from tee to green, but has nice greens.

The Brown thin fairways has clumps of grass throughout the course. If your playing ball down just hope your ball doesn't come to rest along side a patch of crab grass because that can cause some serious hurt to your wrist. Tee boxes were pretty much level, Sand bunkers had good sand in them and the greens were the best part of the course nice and pure, hard to read at times but nice. Customer Service at check in was friendly and good. The Restaurant at the course has good food and real good service (thank you Kathy).

Played today 12/27/2019 Was paired with a real friendly 3 some that play the course almost every week. Had a great time, played white tees and course was in very good condition..a couple long par 3's (five of them) were a little problem for the group but other wise everyone handled the course very well. Was told the course was up for sale again, came home and yes it is on loop net for just under 6 million. Playing games with the city to build housing is the bet...

Played squirrel hallow at 9am, paired up with Adriel and Mario for a 4 hour 15 min POP. Took a chance and it paid off, no wind or rain. Nice weather and nice staff. This was my my black Friday shopping for birdies and pars! Tees, in great shape, 8 out of 10. All par 3 tees had few divots needing fills, I took care of the ones that did. Fairways, winter is here. They were decent for this time of year and right after this last rain. They would easily give, but it is still best to choose to sweep the ball while they are somewhat dormant. 6 out of 10. Rough, the rough here isnt very generous for errant shots. It was longer/wetter than expected, in fact, I lost my tee shot in the left treeline on 12, because the rough is so long and soft. 2 out of 10. Traps, give easily about 3/4 of an inch, even though they were soaked to the bone after the rains. About a third of them had puddles of standing water, no deeper than the diameter of the ball. These look like they will dissipate on their own before the weekend is over...unless the the greenskeeper intervene. 4 out of 10. AARG(Areas ARound Greens), within 20 yards around greens, I was pleased that these were green, cut and soft enough to allow my short game to thrive. 7 out of 10. Greens, these were naturally soft after the rains, and rolled consistent and true for all 18. Spend at least 10 minutes on the practice green and your putting will thrive out there. There are no mushy or soft spots, and golfers are looking after their marks. 8 out of 10 There were only 5 cars in the parking lot when I arrived, and only about 20 when I left...booooya!

Haven't played the course for awhile. Not as nice as when it was private but OK considering there are not that many choices left in the Inland Empire. Pace of play was fine. 3 1/2 hours starting at 11:30 on Sunday.

Fairways going dormant but OK to hit on. In one bunker and the sand was fine. Greens were average speed and OK.

No real complaints except there were a few players bombing balls into the wrong fairway, not yelling fore, drinking too much.

Like I said it was better when it was a private club but I would still play it again.

Golfed the white tees alone, Monday 10/21, as there were still some empty slots allowing it. Weather was awesome.

Golfed the white tees alone, Monday 10/21, as there were still some empty slots allowing it. Weather was awesome.
I left my driver and 3 wood in the truck, but kept the 22 deg hybrid in the bag. My Ginty was the only wood in the bag, and I used it only twice from the deep rough(no lie is safe from my Ginty). Every club in the bag, got exercise today ;-)

Tee boxes have new seeded grass coming in nicely, not cut today, about an inch high. This was present, and you were mindful of it, mostly on those par 3's, but it did not affect tee shots. Golfers are not repairing/filling their tee box divots, so I did it.

The fairways are doing good, especially for late October. However, golfers are not repairing their fairway divots! So I did all those near mine. Maybe golfing alone makes this more obvious? ;-)

The traps are better than a month ago, and play exactly the way they appear, barely acceptable. I successfully got out of and on, 3 out of 4 greens because they were in better shape. They are still denser than they should be, but they do give way,  more than an inch of depth if you need it. All appeared raked after watering.

Greens were in good shape and accepted all my decent attempts at them...they made me look like I know what I'm doing. That nasty trough, that was on the lower right quadrant of green #4 a month ago, is completely gone.

This course is continually improving and now more worthy of the $35 morning weekday rate. I used all my cart sand, and had to refill from the sand bin at the hole 16 tee box. Now we golfer's need to up our game...and look out for each other, by looking after the courses we play!

*found two nice sand wedges on green #1, suspected I would encounter the owners backtracking to find them...sure enough, they were re-united with their lost clubs by hole#3 :-) I have a long way to go, to pay it forward by re-uniting lost clubs to their owners...as it was done for me about a dozen times over all these years.

Played arrowhead today had tee boxes closed due to overseeding. Played around 5000 yards or less. A lot of fun hitting half wedged into greens. No cart restrictions in play. Course was in good shape. Was a joy to play. Greens alittle slow but rolling nicely. Worth the hot deal time.
