Took advantage of the Golf Moose Promo of only $109 to play on Sept 8, 2024. The course is 18 holes since they combined the 3 nine holes. The layout is good. Honestly, we don't expect great conditions here. However the course is in much better shape than I remember. The greens were very decent for Baja Mar standards. The fairways were playable and the rough was a hit and miss. The sand traps were nearly unplayable but some were ok. However the views were splendid and only $86 during Mon to Thurs and $109 Fri to Sun with coupon. It's a great value. Amazing views. Cool ocean breeze. Make sure you get a medical pass from one of the approved vendors like Las Rocas Hotel.....otherwise it's a long wait to cross back. Hope you get a chance to play the much better condition Baja Mar. Well worth the drive and make sure to get your lobsters in Puerto Nuevo. Muy Delicioso !!!

Played on Oct30-2022. A beautiful Sunday with the course completely empty except for me and the golf Marshall and his buddy. It has been more than 15 years since I last played here. The course and surrounding community has changed a lot. Thankfully, the Marshall was helpful in directing me where to aim on each hole. There are many blind shots and the layout has changed from 3 nines to a combined 18 hole course. There are some long distances between some greens and the next tee box. I'm going to be easy on this review and take into consideration that the course might be under normal Fall maintenance conditions. Overall the course was in rough shape, but it is still worth a visit because of the last five holes along the ocean. The Par 3, 173 yd over the water (Hole #15) by itself is worth playing here. Spectacular views. Staff is very friendly and very accommodating to non-spanish speaking patrons. The restaurant is good, but ask for take out if you have less than 40 minutes before teeing off.

Went down to bajamar with some friends for a Friday morning round. Drive down is very easy and about 1:15 from the border. I haven’t played here in more then 5 years but really enjoyed the course. As mentioned before it has gone from 3 - 9 hole course to straight 18.

Clubhouse has gone under some renovation and looked really nice. Grab some food before the round. They have a great restaurant. All Covid rules are enforced.

The course was in good shape. The tees were level and had good coverage. Fairways were brownish green, kinda like most SD fairways in the late summer. Sand was good but no rakes. Greens were above average and firm. Saw some large bounces with well struck balls. First 3-4 greens showed signs of punching about 2-3 weeks old. A little bumpy but played ok.

The real reason to play this course is the back nine. Last 4 holes are on the water. Most holes have Ocean views but 15-18 are literally next to the cliffs. I would say they are as nice as spyglass front 9. Except spyglass conditions are a 10.

If you get the chance I would at least play it once.

A little bit late, played on Friday, 11/30. Was a little skeptical after reading the archived reviews from a couple of years ago but wow was I impressed. The course used to have 3 nines but is now only 2: the Vista and the Oceana. Every single hole has ocean views and the Oceana has the most spectacular views on a course I've ever played. The conditions were great with above average versus your typical muni. There are definitely some challenging holes but there are some scoring holes as well. The customer service was great and we didn't wait on a single hole. And with my parents now residing in Rosarito, I'll definitely be back. Well worth the $100 green fee.

Played 10/01 and 10/2. Drove down to one of my favorite golf destinations to Rosarito Beach for a golf weekend. We were a able to buy for $5 a 2 for 1 on-line for Baja Mar making our green fees only $50 each for each day on Monday and Tuesday for golf (slightly more for weekends). Much like the last review. Love going down to Baja Mar. The ocean Views are amazing and it’s a really well designed course. Course conditions never get above a 6 and that’s to be expected. Greens were green and super slow and a few bare spots. Fairways were thin in places but playable. Rough was tough when the grass grabs your clubs. The views really are spectacular on Vista 9 and Oceano 9. Signature hole is the 180 yard Par 3 all carry over water on Oceano Course. White Tees play 165 on this hole. Lagos has a great par 5 especially when played from the tips , which we do on some holes for added fun. So here is the biggest tip for going down to Mexico. The last review mentioned the long border wait times and that is normally true. However Baja Mar gives you a FASTPASS for border crossings when you spend $100. FASTPASS is like the medical pass. The last Tuesday we crossed in 19 min and were amazed. Expect with the fastpass a 45 min wait or so depending on day and time of crossing. We also found plenty of AIRBNB options. Finally settled on a 2 bed - 2 bath on the beach for $105 per night. Just a great midweek trip to beautiful Baja Mar and Rosarito Beach. Don’t forget to try out the lobster dinners in Puerto Nuevo.

13 of us headed south of the border over the Presidents weekend. This place never disappoints me and holds a special place in my heart. The conditions here are never above a 6 or 7 out of 10 for the most part but i have never seen it below average. The tee boxes need some attention since many were a little unleveled and beat up. The greens were the best part however a little slow. They rolled smooth, held shots, and had only a few ball marks. We would go here much more often if it wasn't for that LONG BORDER WAIT on the return. This was the first and last time we try crossing during a holiday weekend since it took us over 4 hours!!!

Found a great deal, so headed down to Bajamar last Friday. Check in was a breeze as always. Was scheduled to play Vista/Oceano, but when we headed over to Oceano, there was a 3 group wait. We decided to just jump over to Lagos, so we wouldn't have a 3 hour 9. Condition on Vista was generally good, although not quite as good as my last trip down. A handful of tees were shaggy, and some of the fairways were a little burned out. Greens were solid, just slow as normal. Heading over to Lagos, the conditions only got worse. Most tees needed to be cut, several fairways were thin, and a few greens were wet and shaggy. The worst part on Lagos were the bunkers (thin with large rocks). Overall, it was still a fun day. It sucked not to be able to play Oceano, and I would be upset to pay the rack rate for the current conditions. All that being said, it's a fun time down there, and I'll be back soon.

Found an awesome hot deal on 5-20 and made the journey down to Bajamar. First time here and really enjoyed everything about the place. Decent enough range with NXT tour practice balls, a little chipping green, and putting green. There is also a fun little 9 hole chipping course, although the condition of that was poor.

Played the Vista and Oceano 9's and thought both layouts were fun. Both have some links style characteristics, with great views all around.

Condition wise, everything was really solid. Almost more than I would have expected. Tees and fairways were green and not thin. Rough certainly had some thickness, but nothing to worry too much about. Very happy to find sand in all of the bunkers. Granted it was fairly course with a few rocks, but very playable. Only minor critique was the greens, which could stand to be cut a little lower. Although they are pretty smooth, they were quite slow. Cannot wait to make another trip down.

Played Sunday, teed off at 7am, first off, Ocean-Vista. Great day, customer service was excellent. Rack rate is $108, condition wise not really worth it, but just love the course and the layout. Plus they are real friendly and the hotel was busy and parking lot had a lot of cars, which is nice to see.

Greens were very soft and receptive and in pretty good shape, rolled smooth, some had some diseased spots , but for the most part in good shape. Teeboxes on Ocean were very nice, but they hadn't mown the black tees on the Vista for a while, so they were real shaggy. Not much rough to speak of, just maybe an inch longer than the fairway. Bunkers were horrible, hard pan and rocky.

Great time, really enjoy playing here, make sure you get a fast pass after you pay your green fee. Pay your green fee and go to hotel front desk with your drivers license and license plate number of your car, saved us about 3 hours at the border wait.
