Snuck out around lunch time on Monday, Feb 10, and put my name on the wait list. Waited about 45mins and teed off at 1:10pm. Walking twilight rate $33 is a great value!!! Totally scored a great deal for a perfect teetime. We finished right around dark at 5:30pm, not bad POP overall at almost 4.5hrs. The front nine was a little slow and then the group in front of us dropped off, so the back played a little faster. Pretty much same conditions as a couple of weeks ago when I played. Fairways were awesome. Beautifully mown with adequate rollout and perfect cushion. Greens were a little bumpy, but they were still fairly quick and held shots very well. Teeboxes were decent and level, not much of a problem. They weren't perfect, but no big complaints. Rough was not very penal, just an inch longer than the fairways. I didn't find any bunkers but they all looked good. Customer service was great, the starter did an amazing job working me in. Really appreciate it. Easy recommend.

PLayed Sunday, 1/25. Called the starter around 10am and he said there's a tourney going off until 11, but come on out and put my name on the list. I got there around 10:40 and got right out at 11:22. POP was the usual slow pace, finished in 5hrs. Typical as this course just gets a ton of play. Customer service is always great here.

Conditions were above average to very good. Teeboxes were a little chewed up on a couple of the par 3s, but they had the blues tees set all the way back for most of the holes and they were level and good.

Fairways were dialed in. Very good condition!! Mowed perfectly with good cushion and proper amount of roll. Quite a few divots, but I never had a bad lie all day. They looked great, too.

I found one greenside bunker on 15 and it was nice. Fluffy sand, no complaints.

I missed two fairways by a couple of feet both times, but the rough wasn't any problem, just about an inch longer than the fairways.

Greens were good to very good. They held shots perfectly. 5iron into hole 8 stuck in its own pitchmark to give you an idea. 8irons and any club shorter tended to back up a few feet. They putted smooth, no complaints. The recent rain the night before and morning of I'm sure contributed to this.

$61 to walk is a little steep, but I guess it's a great value compared to most other course in the area.

Highly recommend.

Yesterday’s afternoon round was at Coronado. In two words LOVED IT! I’ve had this course on my to Play list for a few years now and I finally got out yesterday afternoon. The course did not disappoint. The views are awesome. Starting off on the first few holes with the Coronado Bridge in the background as well as the Naval ships. From there you continue through the flat, easily walkable parkland style layout that has some water hazards mixed in to keep the aesthetics flying while navigating mostly straight forward holes until you get to the back nine which has a couple of strategic holes including the horseshoe par 5 which even though I took the long way around on the outside, I nearly claimed the OGBC back from Long4par!! But not to be this time. From there you circle back to the bay and follow the water (as in the water is 10’ from the edge of the fairway) back in to the clubhouse. Views of the marina are plenty full. Condition wise, the course is in excellent shape tee to green. Greens are modest in size and undulations. Enough to keep things from being boring, but mild enough to let beginners have a fair shot at a two putt. They rolled very smooth at a medium to medium fast pace. Fairways were great. Lush and green throughout along with offering good roll out on drives. Bunkers had plenty of sand in them and tee boxes were nice and level. Price was very reasonable especially given the location, views, and playing conditions. I will definitely play this course again!! I took plenty of pictures which I will upload in a day or two!!

Walked on yesterday, Memorial Day, around 12:40pm and got right out at 1:10pm. I seem to have good luck on holidays and Sundays walking out and getting off the first tee fairly quickly. Played with 3 high school kids on the Coronado golf team. Good bunch of young men.

Everything is in good shape right now. No complaints on any aspect of the course. Greens held shots well and were a good speed with no bumpiness. Teeboxes were fairly level with minimal divot damage, no problems finding a spot for the peg. Fairways were excellent. Provided some decent roll and nice cushion. I didn't have a bad lie all day. Rough seemed to be up more than usual. Had a couple of thick lies in some spots. I didn't find any bunkers, so can't comment on those, but they looked ok from what I could tell. Service was just fine all around. Bev. cart was out and about. POP was right at 5hrs. which is fairly common. Lots of waiting as usual. $59 non-resident rate to walk is getting a little steep, but it's still worth it. Always recommend.

Snuck out to Nado yesterday as a single, Sunday, April 21. Called the starter around 2:30 and he said come on out and I got right out when I arrived at 3:15. Got paired up with three really nice guys, as usual. $36 to walk twilight rate, non-resident. $30 resident rate.

Blue Tees were all pretty nice, no complaints. Fairly level and not too much divot damage.

Fairways were in great shape. Never had a bad lie all day and they provided good cushion with proper roll out on drives.

Rough wasn't very long, but it was "patchy", some low bare/thin areas next to some higher clumps of grass that could cause some issues.

Traps were in good shape, found one greenside bunker and it had nice fluffy sand. Found one fairway bunker and it was just fine. No problems.

Greens were about as slow as I've ever seen them. They're still recovering from aeration a couple weeks ago, so they were slow and bumpy. They did hold shots well, but putting was difficult.

POP wasn't too bad, finished 18 just in time before darkness set in. Total POP was 4.5hrs, which is acceptable at this course. (often times it can go 5 - 5.5 hrs). Customer service is always good. The starters are always great. Didn't see the beverage cart for some reason, but not a big deal, didn't need anything. Always recommend.

Played yesterday, Sunday, Jan 13. Walked on around 11:30 and they got me out by 12:15. Remarkable!! POP was awesome, 4hrs 15mins. They seem to be getting better at keeping things moving. Men's club was in front of us, so they might tend to play faster than tourists/visitors? Quite the shame that none of the Men's club can fix a ball mark on the greens, they were loaded with unrepaired ball marks.

Customer service excellent. Starters are always awesome!!! Proshop check in was easy and credit to the guy working the desk to give me a rundown on the new resident policy. I used to live on Coronado and showed them my ID a few years ago and they'd always give me a couple bucks off for the resident rate. Not any more! $59 to walk on weekends, now. New policy: go get a resident card at the Rec Center, show proof of 6month lease or home ownership. Bummer, we couldn't afford to buy in Coronado, we were renters previously when we lived there. Had to move to IB to buy a house 5yrs ago, so there goes my "resident status" lol. Resident rate saves you $10 now. Oh well. Onto course conditions.

Blue tees were set back today, at or well behind the blue markers. All were fairly level and pretty nice. Everything played long today.

Fairways were in great shape, I only missed one fairway on number 14, and had a nice lie just right of the bunker and it was easy to hit from. The rough wasn't very penal along the fairways.

Rough around the greens was playable, but a couple of thick spots making you think a little bit harder about the shot.

Found one bunker on 15 greenside left and it was just fine, no complaints, nice fluffy sand.

Greens were good, not great. A little bumpy later in the day. They held well struck shots very well. Slightly poorly struck shots seemed to give a little more roll out than normal. They were medium to fast speed, seemed a little quicker than normal. Downhillers were slick! Lots of ball marks on the front part of all greens, unrepaired.

Beverage cart came around several times, but I'm on dry January, so didn't partake. Just kept filling my water bottle at the drinking fountains.

Beautiful day and easy recommend.

Played Sunday, 12/10/23 with an 11:22 tee time. Teed off right on schedule on a perfectly clear, sunny December day. Course is in very good condition, lots of green all around.

Tees were in good shape, fairly level and plenty of area for a clean lie to tee it up. Fairways were green with a few bare spots but nothing notable. Rough was low, almost none to speak of, not enough to truly affect any lies at least. More bare spots as you venture away from the fairway but as to be expected in the shadier areas. Didn't find any bunkers but they didn't look too bad.

Greens are big and in great shape, had good pace but not overly fast, just enough to make you think on down hillers. A few unfixed ballmarks but as to be expected at a muni. I played 2 weeks ago and oddly enough the pins today were in almost the same locations as they were then.

POP on the front felt awful but didn't end up being too bad - around 2:30 to get through 9. A group of 4 younger guys ahead of us in carts were very deliberate on every shot and on the green. The back 9 was much quicker, probably right around 2 hrs so that made up for the slow front. Was able to finish 18 with the sun still up.

I always enjoy playing here, the course is typically in great shape and the price to walk ($49) is tough to beat with the condition and the views.

Snuck out of the house yesterday afternoon, Sunday, March 12. Walked on and put my name on the waitlist around 1:15, starter got me out at 2:50 with three other singles. Pretty long wait, but they were busy, so the starter did the best he could.

Overall the course is in good to better than good condition. Blue tees were pushed all the way back on most every hole, good coverage and level. Fairways were very nice, I found a lot of them and never had a bad lie. Good cushion and good rollout, course drains very well. Greens held shots very well, but had quite a few ball marks. They were pretty smooth, though, and putted at an above average pace for sure. Downhillers were faster than expected. I found one bunker and it was fine, no issues whatsoever. Rough was not long at all, but it did have pockets of poor lies with some higher green patches and barren dead patches. Customer service was just fine all around. Saw the bev cart a few times and everyone in the proshop was fine. Starters are always awesome here, very friendly, but I just can't hear the darn speaker very well as they play music at the restaurant and the starter speaker doesn't seem to be very loud. That's always been the case here, though.

$26 to walk twilight is the best deal in town. POP on the front was slow at 3hrs, but the back picked up and we got in 16 holes, but 15 and 16 were pretty much in the dark. Then we took a beautiful pitch black walk back to the clubhouse, walked along 17 and 18 in the dark and enjoyed the beautiful views of the bridge and bay. Get out there if you can!!

Got a late last minute hall pass from the wife to go play yesterday, Sunday, Jan 8, so I called the course at 10am and the starter said he had a slot for a single at 12:15, lucky me. $43 to walk is very fair. POP as usual a little slow, but we finished with a little daylight to spare right at 5pm.

Played the blues and most tee boxes were in good shape and fairly level. There were a few you had to take a minute to find a good spot, but no major issues for the most part.

Fairways were in very good shape. Found one sand filled divot, but wasn't a problem. Other than that, I had great lies all day and I only missed two fairways all day, and the rough was no problem, only slightly longer than the fairway. They weren't overly wet even after all the rain and provided a decent roll out as well.

Found two bunkers (one fairway bunker and one greenside) and they were just fine, no problems.

Greens were difficult to read today for some reason, but they held shots perfectly and putted just fine with medium to quick pace. No issues, just quite a few ball marks, but most had been repaired. Hit all fairways and greens in regulation on the back nine, but 20putts added up to a 38 on the back, ugh!

Service all great. Starter is always great here, Peter was working today. Bev cart came around a lot, but I wasn't drinking today for a little clean change to start the year's first round.

Just a beautiful day, hardly any wind and perfect sunshine. Highly recommend if you can get out there.
