A 5 hour and 40 minute round! We started at 10:23 AM. We contacted the Pro Shop on the 2nd tee when there was a three group back-up already. Then again on the 17th tee when there were three groups on the fairway and green ahead of us. Both times we were told someone would come out and no one did.

We had an UnderPar coupon that took us 4 weeks to try to exercise on a Saturday. We couldn't get a reasonable tee time so had to accept Sunday! We have decided not to patronize San Vicente/UnderPar any more. If you try to redeem an UnderPar coupon you will probably need to expect to use it during the week and not on a weekend.

The course was in good condition but having to play an almost 6 hour round just isn't enjoyable at all!!!

"Carts on paths only"!. Overseeded. At 3:30 PM a bunch of locals disregarded this and their round was probably sub three hours. Our round, sticking to the "COPO", was five hours. I lost three balls in the fairway because I couln't use the cart to see the ball on the opposite side from the cart path.

I realized, on a dog right, that having the cart path on the right is wrong. Every dogleg had the cart path on the wrong side. Dog leg left? Cart part is on left. Fascinating.

I wish I had knew about COP only, I would have brought my trolley and walked.

Have not played here since 1990. I have always liked this course, but it's a long way from home. The course was every bit a good as I remember, However the conditioning is nothing like I recall. What Happened?

The greens were decent, although they were already beginning to punch them (small holes) despite the greenskeeper warning that would not begin for a couple of weeks. The greens and bunkers are the best part of the course. The fairways are thin at best and much of the rough area is totally devoid of grass. Lots of areas adjacent to the greens (aprons) were in very poor shape as well. Too bad because this is a nice track!

In spite of the condition, enjoyed the round and hope that it won't be 24 more years until I return. No, check that, I would love to return in 24 years and play it when I am 90+ (maybe then I can finally shoot my age (LOL)

Summer is taking a bite out of SV., But it's still in pretty good shape. Visually on the dry side but it plays fine.
There are numerous brown and a even a few dead areas in the fairway's that can present a good possibility of your ball finding, but mostly they are green and full with decent cushion and good roll out.
Greens ran about medium fast (me likey) which is very fast compared to their normal speed of SLOW.
There are dry and an occasional burnt area on most greens along the perimeters, but the majority of the greens are in good to great shape, receptive, have good speed & fair roll.
Rough is a mix of thin & thick, bunkers the same.

Played 7/13 w/an Underpar coupon same day replay for two w/cart, lunch, and small bucket of range balls per player. Tee time of 10:48, because the course was PACKED!!! They do have a driving range area but off matts. Located over by the pool/end of the parking lot. Beautiful Pro Shop. Nice upper 19th hole patio style seating. Typical browned out conditions mainly due to lack of rain and the heat of Summer; but still fairways rolled out nicely and most fairway shots would result in a decent lie for subsequent shots to the green. Tee boxes were in great condition, greens could've used mowing as they were inconsistent from one to the next with slow to medium roll on some and medium semi-fast on others. Bunkers were equipped with sufficient sand to get a nice wedge shot out of. Course was in pretty good condition for this time of year and the drought conditions. Pace of play was somewhat slow and we did not opt for a 2nd round. This course has an interesting layout, and will challenge even the seasoned golfer. Truly enjoy everything about this course and the clubhouse. Driving range could use a little work, and the chipping area (down behind the 1st tee box), could use a trim as well. We enjoy this course and for the price of the coupon -- it can't be beat. just this novice golfin gal's point of view.

This review is confirming "bryanq" review of 5/3. Played here in a Senior outing on 5/5 at 8 AM. Greens: smooth, medium to fast and firm. Fairways: lush, very nice after all the winter "thin" lies. Rough: 1 to 3" high Traps: OK Customer Service: they did a great job handling our outing of 120+ seniors. POP: 5 hours but it was an outing, normally POP is much better. Long drive from O'side (82 miles R/T) otherwise I would play here more often. Oh BTW, our 4some took 1st Place ! :-)

My wife & I played Saturday May 3rd at 12:45. It was a hot day!! We got a great rate through Golfnow, $28 per person! The course was in very good shape overall. The greens were dry & hard and didn't stick at all. Very few divots because they just bounced and ran. We were only in a few sand traps & the few we were in was in good shape, not hard as cement like some courses we've played. I've always liked San Vicente but don't consider it worth playing for $42+ too many other courses in the area for that price!

Rough was full and thicker then normal for San V.
Green have not completly healed yet. Most had punch holes still present that caused lots of bouncing.
San V. Greens are always on the slow side. Today even slower.
In another week or so the course will be in full spring golf glory
