4/3 using customer appreciation voucher(free round after purchase of $45 green fee last December--net 22,50 per round) on a nice balmy am occasional 1 club breeze from the whites 6160 69.4 122 par 70.
Fairways have good cover overall a little on the longish side but still generally giving decent roll with some random thin areas and rarely a bare spot none of which came into play for me--did find a couple of mostly healed divots but other wise good lies. Rough cut down but thick and wirery impeding roll and being tough to play from as making ball 1st contact was a challenge.
Tees level with wide set markers--par 3s have a lot of divot damage mostly filled and repaired--other tees have good cover.
Bunkers are well placed often leaving a longer shot--with consistent well groomed sand that has a nice firm quality--that should have provided a good base for execution--however I could not adjust and came in too shallow resulting flyers to the back of the green.
Greens were medium fast rolling smoothly and quite consistent hole to hole. Front 9 layout is generally flat and the greens reflect the terrain having less slope and contour--though some pin placements can sneak up on you. The back has more elevation changes and many of the greens are above fairway level--greens tend to have more slope and breaks. POP just under 4 with only a little waiting.
Staff members are cheerful golfer oriented and are very motivated to provide really good customer service. Mark at the desk made check in a breeze and John the starter was very helpful to plug us into a slot with another 2some to get out 30 minutes early.
Also according to Mark the scheduled maintenance been cancelled

Played Vineyard on 3/29/17. Greens are in good shape, although ball marks are in abundance. Fairways are in good shape. Rough is hit and miss - sometimes plush, sometimes clumpy. Sand is good. Tee boxes are generally above average, and it helped that the guy setting the tee markers set them as wide as humanly possible, plenty of room to find a good spot.

In all, this is a fun course to play. Challenging without being too tough. It's not going to WOW you, but you get a good course at an affordable price.

12/15(customer appreciation promo $45 with free round before 6/30) had a 900 tee time that some how didnt get logged in but staff got us in and starter paired us up quite quickly starting at 830 for a POP of 4 hrs with brief waits early then falling back having to deal with a few errant shots by 1 or more of our 4some. Fairways generally in good shape some a little thin but soft--fair amount of early am moisture and a few scattered wet spot(#9 has a very wet area which is roped off--must be a broken pipe). Overall good lies. Rough along most fairways thick enough to slow the ball and juicy enough to be a challenge--little longer around the greens and sometimes a little clumpy. Some tees rather thin but easy enough to find an adequate place to tee up---markers often set really wide. Bunkers have good sand recently groomed and mostly raked with a few exceptions even with the rake adjacent to the footprints. Large greens many with 2-3 club difference from front to back. Fair amount of slope with varying breaks--some pin placements at top of slope so the ball almost stops at the hole before sliding 4 feet past. Front pins especially a challenge. Generally consistent medium fast smooth rolling well--fun to read needing to judge speed and break taking nothing for granted. Really good customer service--golfer oriented and friendly.

had some things to do in escondido so i figured i'd try a course i hadn't played while i was down there. the course is a par 70 with only two par 5s, started off at the blues but moved up to the whites after about 6 holes when i joined an older threesome. course was in fair condition, with teeboxes level and divots filled with sand. fairways are narrow and thin but green, though i had a bad driving today i wasn't in the fairway much. the rough was hit or miss, some patchy with the ball sitting down, some thin. the greenside bunkers were not in good condition though, they often had little sand and many were wet making them very heavy and difficult to play out of. greens were soft and held shots well, weren't running very fast. the layout has water in play on a third of holes, but in the end feels like too many par 4s, most of which weren't that memorable. POP right at 4 hours which wasn't bad for an american golf course.

I used TeeOff.com's "Monday After the Majors" promo to get an 11:15 Deal time out here yesterday for just $18+$2 fee. It had been a long time since I played here. How long, exactly? Well, I remember discussing a brand new, hot NBC sitcom called "Friends" with my buddy the last time I was here. I hadn't returned because I didn't remember liking the course much. Either it matured, or I did, because I really enjoyed it yesterday. They got me started a bit early and POP was great, as we finished in 3:55 on a very hot, muggy day. I played the 6,531-yard blue tees.

Conditions are pretty good. Greens are very nice, accepting of full shots and running medium fast. Fairways are a little on the thin side and somewhat inconsistent, but acceptable overall. The rough was only a couple inches deep and in relatively good condition, although the farther you strayed from the fairway, the more likely you were to find browned out spots. I think I was in one bunker and it was nice; not compacted. No complaints on tee boxes.

Some of the greens out here have a surprising amount of slope. No. 10 comes to mind. I like how much of the back nine lays out before you over the hill and seemingly in a little valley. It definitely won't be 22 years before I return here again. I'm ready to go back now!

Played 3/9 using the customer appreciation free round CPO due to the rain in about 4-30 on a really nice day 70* a light breeze about 1/2 club. Fairways are about 20% dormant with green grass covering the rest, still get good roll off the tee with good lies with the ball sitting up nicely and plenty of cushion. Only a few wet spots with casual water. Rough coming into play a little more along about half the fairways. Most of the tees are level unless the markers are put way forward then slope comes into play. Quite lush overall. Sand was consistently deep and thick rather heavy in green side traps and more firm for fairway bunkers. Good condition and freshly groomed after the rain. Greens were receptive but still medium fast rolling smoothly and true. Large greens often could be two club difference from front to back. Good customer service starter tried to move us up but could not find a space or a pairing with another 2some but did appreciate the effort.

Played New Years Day for $39.99. I’ve played this course several times. It’s one of my favorites when going out single. The weather was beautiful, sunny and brisk. The staff in the pro shop is always very friendly and accommodating. I was paired with a threesome of very nice, friendly guys. They warned us before starting that it may be slow as it was quite crowded. The carts have basic GPS’s which I like. The course was in pretty good shape considering winter/drought etc. The fairways were mostly green with good coverage, though firm enough to get lots of roll. The rough was more brown and patchy but still overall in decent shape. The greens were soft, neither very fast or slow. One of the bunkers I was in was kind of damp and heavy, the other two were clean and soft. I was thrilled to have missed the huge trap in front of the green on #13 as I have been in it every time I’ve played there. Both of the par 3’s on the front psych me out every time but I had my best showing to date on #6. That made me quite happy. We finished in about 4.75 hours. I was a very fun day, a great way to start the new year.

this courses has exceptional customer service and a high golfer friendly attitude had a 907 time but starter let us know there were openings so after a quick 5 min warm up we were off at 830 caught a 4some after 2 holes but they waved us up on 6 and didnt see anyone the rest of the day

Got out on first tee time on a Monday morning. Bitter cold but worth the pain. Nobody else braved the coldness so played as a lone single. Expected some brown grass due to cold morning but course was in nice green grass condition. Tee boxes were level and lush. Greens held well and rolled true. Definitely worth the $$ and will return here as the other courses in this price range are browned out.
