The Crossings is an enjoyable golf course to play. There are no parallel fairways but most holes provide ample room off the tee. The course has many elevation changes. This is not a good course to walk. There is a nice variety of holes in design and length. There is a nice mat driving range, putting green, and chipping green. Overall the conditions were very nice. The fairways are good with a few minor spots. The rough is good with some bare spots along the outer edges (expected when the outer edge is the bush). The tee boxes are good. The bunkers were a little damp but good. The greens are between fair and good. The greens were a little bumpy at times but very puttable. The speed was to the slow side of medium. I would imagine due to the undulating greens. I would prefer the greens a little faster but I would play the course again. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a play.

Played the Crossings at the end of August, but just getting around to the review. I thought it was great. Kind of reminded me of some of the Simi Valley courses like Tierra Rejada with the big elevation shifts. Some truly gorgeous holes, and very challenging to a new player like myself. A good amount of blind shots and a rather quirky back 9, but really nice all in all. At around $85 the day we played, it's well worth it, just not somewhere I can play every week at that price. But once a month or two it's nice to treat one's self to a place like the Crossings.

It's been about 18 months since I last played here. Always enjoyed this course because it has some very interesting holes. The overall condition was very good, with a few bare spots here and there, but nothing really bad. Greens rolled well and the fairways were for the most part very nice.

Staff was excellent. My only complaint was that they sent people out on the back nine, so after making the turn in about 1hour, I got hung up on #12, so had to skip that holes becauseit had two groups on it. Otherwise, very enjoyable

Played The Crossings this morning and can now check it off my list. Two words came to mind as I walked to my truck, funky and weird. This course seems overly tricked out (besides the bizarro layout). On and around the greens there are strange, non-sensical contours that, with the firmness of this course, make it virtually impossible to get approach shots in the area of the flag.

Tee boxes: Ok, a bit chewed up in some spots, but playable.
Fairways: Fair to middling, divots everywhere (and some pointed in strange directions), most had sand in them. Running fast and producing some unusual bounces.
Bunkers: probably the bright spot, well manicured, plenty of sand, very nice.
Rough: long enough to cause a bit of bother in most places and a bit thicker in others.
Hazards: blue staked "environmentally sensitive" areas surround every hole, good bye ball.
Greens: besides being overly tricked out these were easily the most ball marked greens I have EVER seen! Does anyone fix their ball marks at that place?
Service: Everyone was overly nice (borderline Disneyland/Truman Show/Stepford Wives nice), never saw a snack cart, the guy who runs the pro shop was late so no balls until 10 minutes until my tee time (so I hurriedly hit about 12 shots). A marshall of some sort at one point started circling us even though we were waiting on most shots(not long, but still, we were waiting) and at one point showed up in front of us on the side of the fairway in plain site. I don't know about you but that is quite distracting to me!
POP: 4 1/2 hours.
Price: Got a deal for $67, wouldn't pay anymore than that . . . and would never pay their rack rate.
Beautiful club house as well as some of the views . . . with the exception of the high power lines and planes taking off from Palomar Airport.
Will I go back? Only if someone makes me.

Played Tuesday 5/28, 6am, first off; $69 everyone pays senior rate special ($95 weekday rack); join their eclub for access to various specials they run. Played by myself, in a leisurely 2:50. Very nice holes in a funky layout. Green to tee on many hole were a 30-60 sec cart ride, with hole #13 taking like 2 minutes.. the cart path takes you from the 13 green to the 13 tee... like they only had 17 holes, and needed one more hole and decided, hey let's just put it here... but regardless, course in great shape, I had a blast. greens are in great shape, 11 on the stimp, staff friendly enough. carts had a touch screen gps... would play here anytime.

What a great little course in Carlsbad...The Crossings has it all...a good array of fun to challenging holes with great views...Course was in PERFECT shape..Practice facility was top notch...and I recommend the breakfast burrito....A perfect family getaway location due to Lego Land right next door (a place to sneak out from the family and get a round in)

I played midday on Easter Sunday and found the course in good condition overall. I got a $52 rate which was a great value. Although the course gives you the feeling of a higher end venue, I would be hard pressed to justify paying the rack rate. I might be nitpicking but I walked away feeling that the course conditions should've been better. The tee boxes were level and fairly lush. The fairways had many rolls, often leading to uneven lies which added to the challenge. The conditions of the fairways were decent but I found my ball resting in old divots several times. The greens were pretty good overall but some were a little bumpy. They were fairly firm and had tricky undulations making some putts very difficult to read. The greenside bunkers that I was in had good coverage with soft sand. I always get a love/hate feeling when I play this course. Part of this is due to the blow up holes that I always have on the back 9. While the front 9 is forgiving with ample opportunities to score, danger lurks on the back 9. Watch your approach shots! The cart girl came around several times and we made it around in about 5 hours. I'd recommend playing this course....especially if you want to test your game.

Played on Wednesday the 13th in the morning and the conditions were pretty good. Course is 3 weeks out of punching their greens and they are still a little bumpy and slow but healing nicely and should be pretty good in another week or two but there is more grass on the greens and they look a lot healthier than they did before they punched. The fairways were nice and had no bare spots, a couple of areas with heavy divots but that is to be expected on a few of the holes like 8 and 10 because everyone lays up to the same spots. Sand was excellent in all of the bunkers I was in. Customer service was great, saw the cart girl plenty and the before and after treatment was top notch. Great day of golf even if my score did not reflect it.

played 2/12, greens kind of inconsistent. some putt really true, some are very patchy, a few were way overwatered, otherwise, a nice, course to play, be ready to get some funny bounces, but, that is golf, bunkers were improved from my last visit, tees, also in better shape, course knowledge is key, especially where to aim to play your tee shots, always a challenge to play, join the Crossings Club if you play here , will save you some nice dollars on green fees, Thanks, CGG...
