Played 11-15-19 first out as a single for $34(players club rate) walking, finishing in 2 hours and 20 minutes. Tee boxes were in good shape, nice coverage on most of them with some divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in very nice condition, mostly lush with decent rool out and some small bare spots but I never had a bad lie. Rough was about 2 inches long along the fairways and a little bit longer around the greens, very lush and mostly in good condition with some bare spots the farther you get from the fairway.Was in one greenside bunker right of 4 that had a very thin layer of sand over hardpan. Greens were in great shape, semi-soft, rolling medium/fast and smooth, just real nice to putt on. Overall conditions are real good right now. Great course in a wonderful setting that is always great to play.

Played 9-23-19 early morning as a single walking in about 2 1/2 hours for $34. Tee boxes are in okay shape, some needed a little leveling and some on the thin side but still all playable. Fairways were mostly in good shape, I would say about 75% real nice with great lies and about 25% needing a little help. Rough is mostly okay along fairways and around greens with some bare and thin spots mixed in. Was in one greenside bunker that had a thin layer of almost sand, but it was still okay to hit from. Greens were in great shape rolling smooth at medium pace and semi-soft. They have filled in the greenside bunker to the left of hole five. They had there pump go down last month and had to water a lot by hand which equates to the condition of the fairways. With the pump back up and working they should get better. Great course with a great layout and wonderful setting, a must play.

Played today under foggy skies. Having not played here in many years, stopped by on my way home from Morro Bay. The two previous reviews are spot on (especially GDR23's). Even his tips from 2006 are still helpful. I had forgotten much of the course since my last visit, but reading their reviews, prepared me for a great experience. Course is in wonderful condition (IMO) and had a wonderful time playing a great layout. I have always been a fan favorite of Robert Muir Graves designed courses. I do not think he gets or has received as much acclaim as he deserves? I always say I am going to stop and play here, when returning from N CA or Monterey and so glad I did this time. A must play (IMO) for the golf purist. I don't think this course will disappoint any golfer?

Played 5-14-19 early morning walking on a special players club price for $24 finishing in a little under 2 1/2 hours. Everything is in really good shape right now. Tee boxes had good coverage and mostly level with some divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in really good shape with great lies and decent roll out, with some minor bare spots. Rough was very lush and thick but not to long so not to difficult to hit from. They have added some sand to the greenside bunkers so they now have a good layer of heavy brown sand and are in really nice condition. Greens were a little slower than normal this morning, rolling smooth and playing semi-soft. Customer service here is always great and friendly. Tough challenging course with a nice variety of holes. Recommend playing when ever you can.

Played 36 holes of wonderful golf with my buddy RGM2525 at my favorite golf course. We walked the Blues for the 1st 18 holes(POP 4 hrs 15 min) and then replayed the next 18 holes riding the blacks(POP 3 hrs). Weather was perfect in the low 70's with a slight breeze on the 2nd 18 holes. Staff friendly, separate chipping green, large putting green, decent sized range and very good food in the restaurant(had the tri-tip sandwich which was excellent). This property is in an amazing area that has rolling hills surrounded by wildlife and beautiful views for miles. You only get minor civilization noise on the last couple holes from the 246 hwy. This course is so peaceful. Saw multiple deer today on number 8. One of if not the toughest test in California its design has dogleg rights, lefts, some blind shots, holes to let the driver rip, uphill holes, target holes, etc. One of the many things that challenges players here is a well struck shot can hit an undulating fairway and still barely kick you into rough. Conditions were really good today. The fairways were as lush as I have seen them this early in the year! Great padding, lush. Rated an 8.5 The tees were lush and mainly all level. Some divot damage on some of the 3 par's but still in great shape. Rated 8/10. The rough was lush, green and penal but mowed down some which I believe they want in most cases to improve POP. Rated 8.5/10 The greens were very soft and super receptive. They were rolling true without any bumps or issues. Almost looked like they underwent a small minor verticut. Rated 7.5/10 Was only in 2 bunkers for 36 holes--they look firm but contained a nice a layer of sand underneath them. Rated 7/10. The fairways, rough, tees and greens are in very nice shape. It was a very score able day today with no wind and soft greens. If the wind picks up here it can be a different story. We had a great time as always at La P. Highly Recommended.

Played 4-1-19 early morning for 36 holes finishing in about 4 1/2 hours. Tee boxes were in good shape, mostly level with descent coverage. Fairways were in really nice shape, some had a few bare spots but mostly great lies and good coverage. Number 1 fairway had a small area that was under repair, looked like a pipe broke. Rough was 2-3 inches and thick, ball would sit down a little making for some tough shots. Was in a few greenside bunkers all of which had heavy brown sand that was a little on the thin side. Greens were in really good shape, medium/fast pace and smooth and semi-soft. The course is in the greenest shape I have seen it in a long time, just in really good shape and well worth a trip to play.

Played LaP 9/11/18 second off on a foggy morning. The first four holes were virtually blind due to the fog, which really adds to the abundant challenge!

Course was in excellent condition overall. Greens rolled well, though not especially fast. Fairways were well covered, rough was lush and relatively thick, but not especially long. Tees were generally well covered but several lacked areas where they were very level.

As the second group off, POP was not an issue and the fog eventually lifted and gave way to a beautiful day. This is a gorgeous course but a difficult one.

Played 8-28-18 first out as a single and playing 36 in 4 1/2 hours on a non crowded day. Tee boxes were in good shape with good coverage and mostly level. Fairways were mostly lush with a few bare and thin spots with descent roll out and good lies. Rough was 2-3 inches and in good shape, a bit of a club grabber in some areas. Was in a few greenside bunkers, some that are still thin and firm and others that had a good layer of soft sand. Greens were rolling smooth at medium pace and holding well struck shots. Great layout of holes in a prefect golf setting. Highly recommend playing here.

Played 7-21-18 mid morning as a foursome and finished in about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Tee boxes were in descent shape, mostly level and semi-lush with minimal divot damage on par threes. Fairways were very lush and green with minimal roll out and the ball sitting up very nice. Rough was in good shape along fairways and around greens about 2-3 inches and thick. Was not in any bunkers but some looked to be in a little better shape than normal, while others still looked thin and hard. Greens were in really nice shape, rolling fast smooth and semi-soft ( #2 still has some issues but it is starting to look better). Overall course is in really nice shape and very green.
