Overall the course is in it's usual excellent shape. Only noticeable difference was the thick, juicy, sticky, three inch rough around the greens. If you don't accelerate through the shot you become unhappy. As a twosome we breezed through in under four hours & got a killer deal on GolfNow for $44 teeing off at noon.

Played super-twilight for 45 @ 4pm. Hands-down the best deal around. I moseyed around in about 3 hours taking my time and only waiting once or twice - or, to put it another way, very easy to get in 18 before dark.

Course is in good shape but looks a little more like late summer conditions, reflecting the warmer weather of last week. Tees lush with a few slightly crowned around the edges - 9/10. Fairways are mainly lush with plenty of pad under the ball. There are some dry spots and burnt areas here and there, but plenty of roll and mostly great lies 8.5 or 9/10. Rough is really juicy - 3 inches on average and 4 or more in spots. The ball really can sit down in it making it hard to find your ball in broad daylight - I picked up a few balls given up as lost in the primary cut. 9.5/10. Sand was good in the one trap I entered - 10.

Greens: I played Creekside/Ridge and was a little concerned on hole 1 of Creek as it had a bit of fungus, and signs of some emergency remedy here and there. The hole was cut away from this problem, but if you had a long putt through it then it was especially bumpy. After that, all the surfaces were fine and consistent with thicker coverage, soft and nappy. I suspect they let them grow shaggy during 90 plus temps last week and they are still that way. They did not have much in the way of pace either 8.5/10.

I would give it a solid 9/10 overall. I think it is one of the most varied, visually appealing courses around. For less than 50 bucks it can't be beat.

I have played Moorpark several times since it opened. I was a member for a few years before I started commuting in a different direction. I am a big fan of the course especially its design and conditioning. In years past, the conditioning has been the best in the area in my opinion.

I played the course last weekend and was really bummed to see the conditions of the fairways. The greens and tee boxes seem to be in typically good shape, but the fairways were bare in many areas. The year has been difficult with the lack of rain and the course is still coming out of winter, but they do not seem to have overseeded the fairways or rough for the winter and it shows.

I am hoping the fairways are back to their excellent shape by summer, but worry that this has done some lasting damage. I play Oak Creek in Irvine and they had a similar issue when they did not overseed. Their fairways took a few years to get playable again.

I will still play Moorpark and their range / practice facility continues to be the best in the area. Hoping they get things back to their old self soon.

Returned to Moorpark after about a year. Last time I played here, the wind was CRAZY. Golf balls would get blown off the greens after manually placing it for a putt. Today was a different story. Overcast, 60s, and NO wind!

Played Canyon and Ridgeline. Tee boxes were flat and undamaged. Very lush. Fairways were mostly nice with brown spots that were very playable. The spots were not appealing to the eyes, but they were definitely not thin. I played shots from them without issue. There were large areas that were under repair on a few holes, but that didn't affect play either. Bunkers and rough areas were consistent throughout. The greens were great! They were rolling true, without damage, and on the quicker side.

I highly recommend this course. Great layout and they're usually in very good shape. Restaurant, ProShop, and practice facilities are all top notch.

Played 1/27/14 as a twosome. Tee'd off at around 1:50, played in 2:55 on the Creekside and Canyon Crest courses. Would've finished quicker except there was a single in front of us on the Creekside 9. Basing this review off how little rain we've gotten in the last year (a tad over 3 inches).

-Teeboxes were excellent. Very lush and green, with minimal divot marks.

-Fairways were good as well. Lush in most places, although a tad dry due to the minimal rain. Good roll and only had a couple bad lies.

-Rough was nice and green. Patchy in a few spots, but some of the best rough in the area.

-Bunkers were the way I liked them. Not a ton of sand, but certainly not thin. I like to be able to nip the ball out of the bunkers.

-Green were the star of the show. Very receptive, and rolled true. Very smooth, running about 10 on the stimp. Only bad green is #8 on the Canyon Crest nine, have no clue what is going on with that green, but there is fertilizer and punch marks on it.

Overall an excellent experience as expected from Moorpark CC. Certainly one of the best to play in the area.

Played here on Tuesday, 12/24 mid morning. It was an enjoyable round. However, winter conditions have set in. The fairways, usually very lush and green, were thin and blotchy. Most of the grass is light brown with spotty clumps of green grass dispersed throughout the fairways. Although visually unattractive, the fairways are quite playable. Not so thin that it was hard pan. Tee boxes were fine. The greens were medium fast and held shots very well. Not much rough at this time of year. The one negative for me was the bunkers. Usually very nice, they are hard packed and more dirt than sand. Most of them were wet and heavy, making it difficult to get under the ball and splash it out. Other than that it was enjoyable.

it was cold 1st round but it warm up after 4 holes and it was a beautiful day the rest of the way. overall, the conditions of the 3 Nine-holes were excellent. Tee boxes were leveled. Fairways were lush and green thru out. Traps were bluffy and consistent. around the greens were well manicured. Greens were amazingly well kept. it was firm, fast and very smooth. this course is always top notch. would love to play here again. customer service was great as well

The approach shots are key; the angle and portion of the green are critical. A 600+yard hole is all down hill-be accurate/safe on the tee shot, then let loose.
Great mountain, ocean, creek views to the West. Elevation changes with housing, mountains, ravines, creeks, and views make every hole pleasant. I played with the SCGA Member Day for $63. Rating 9.0

Played the Canyon Crest first, then Creekside, just after 9:00AM.

I loved both nines. Creekside had more of a narrower fairways and definitely a tougher nine that the other, I felt.

Some of the greens on both nines were aerated with small holes, it was also sanded and hosed down, but it wasn't bad, it played pretty good. It rolled well and true in a 10 or 11 speed.

Many roped areas on some fairways as they care for what's gone through a longer summer heat- not a big deal. The fairways rolled and played pretty good, too.

It looked like there were sand on all bunkers. I was in one on the 18th, it was alright.

This was my first time to play here. I'm really impressed at how they've kept it up through the summer- it could only get even better now. Will definitely recommend and be back for more fun!
