Course is in great condition. Played on 05/09 and flew through the round in just under 4 hours. Played Canyon and Ridgeline. Tee boxes, fairways, sand traps are all great. The rough is actually pretty long and penile in some areas of the course. The greens look great and are rolling excellent. They're not as fast as I've seen but they are definitely not slow. Always great conditions here.

Played Moorpark Country Club Friday afternoon with GK'ers longball23, kviser and GolfMusician. We teed off at 2:45pm on the Creekside 9 which was a little slow but once we got to the Ridgeline 9, many groups had left and we flew around it about 2 hours. I’ve seen Moorpark CC in better condition but overall I thought it was in great shape. Greens were not up the Moorpark CC standards IMO but still mostly smooth and a little slower than I’m used too. I think due to the extra play the course has been getting lately that come late Friday afternoon, foot traffic contributed to most of the bumps. I could see a morning round out there being smooth and fast. Fairways were very lush, as was the rough. Rough was cut low so not much of a penalty for going in it. Sand in the bunker was firmer than I normally experience here but still in good shape. Tee boxes were lush and level.

Moorpark CC is a hilly tight beautifully designed challenging golf course. It’s my favorite course in Ventura County. The views on the course of the surrounding mountains, valleys and at times vineyards are gorgeous. The clubhouse is grand and beyond most “privates” I’ve played. The service is high end as is the practice facilities. I have never been disappointed with this course in the 8 years I’ve been playing it.

Good times with fellow GKers Johnny, Longball23, and Golfmusician. The course and facilities are fantastic. A real country club experience. Everything was lush from tee to green with great views of the area from many tees. Tee boxes were level with a few very minor exceptions; and in those cases it would be hard to complain because a level stance could easily be found. Fairways and rough were very lush and your ball will almost always sit up nicely. Greens were in great shape; however, they rolled a little slower than I would like, probably due to the very lush conditions. We golfed late afternoon and you could see some footprints and some spike marks around a couple of holes. I am sure they can easily make it quicker with a tighter cut. I was in a couple of bunkers and the sand was soft and light, but they did seem a little on the thin side. It was not bad by any means. Excellent customer service from the pro shop to the starter, to the cart barn. I look forward to coming back here soon.

Played 4/26/13 with JohnnyGK, Longball23 and Kviser. Fantastic weather! Pace of play was great, especially on the 2nd nine. Moorpark is always such a great place to play. Staff is friendly and helpful, and a great practice facility. We played Creekside/Ridgeline – a combo not the faint of heart. The course was in really great shape, coming out of the winter. Fairways were a little tight, but lush enough to hit good shots. Rough was about 3 inches, and not too penal. The tee boxes are always nice and level here. For the most part in pretty good shape. I wasn’t in any bunkers today, but they looked pretty good. I didn’t hear any complaints from my playing partners, though. Now for the greens: since we played later in the afternoon, footprints were definitely an issue. I’ve played here quite a bit, and the greens are typically fast. Today they looked fast, but were not. For the most part, in pretty good shape, though. All in all a fantastic day of golf. I hope to be back soon!

Weather: Mid 70's with starting out a 10-15mph breeze that backed off some on the 2nd nine holes.

Fairways 8.5/10...Lush, green and soft. Not much roll and just in great shape. Ball sitting up with almost perfect lies

Tees 8/10...Lush and all level for the most part, just minimal divots on par 3's..very nice tees

Rough: 8/10...Healthy, green and lush anywhere from 2-4 inches depending on the hole. For sure want to stay out of it if you can on this course as recovery shots need to be handled with care so your next shot is not in a ravine.

Greens: 7/10...Green, bent grass greens that I usually love. I usually putt the best here out of all the courses that I play but I will only rate them a 7 today as they were a little slow and bumpy. By no means were they in bad shape but just a little slow for my taste.

Bunkers 7.5/10..Was in one bunker that contained just enough sand and was raked.

Layout 8.5/10...Creekside/Ridgeline combo for sure the toughest combo especially in the afternoon. I love creekside but am not a fan favorite of several holes on Ridgeline.

Overall 8.5/10...Recommended for sure, course is in great shape and the practice facilities are nice. The starters here are friendly as well as the cart barn guys.

played 4-25 early afternoon ridgeline/creekside. found a great deal for $32 on golfnow. tee boxes in good shape mostly level with good grass. fairways lush ball sits nicely. rough between 1 and 3 inches and in good shape. was in one sand trap that had plenty of sand, playing partners where in a couple that they said where a little thin. greens are a little slow and bumpy and a little on the soft side. overall course is in good shape.

Pros- The course is lush as can be. Gorgeous weather, gorgeous views, awesome layout. I have loved this course for a long time and the Creekside/Ridgeline is my least favorite combo but it still ranks high for me.
Cons- I just can't wrap $80 out on this course too often. I love it, but the greens were super slow and bumpy. It is amazing how everything except the greens are perfect and I just don't ever find the greens fast here. I enjoy it a ton, but the money is a tough shell out for the course.
Overall- I will play here 6 times a year, hopefully at a discount, and hopefully with better greens.

Finally made it out to Moorpark for the first time on Sat. 2/23/13 with Alaksana and a couple of buddies of ours. Played Ridgeline/Canyon Crest Combo. Not much to add that hasn't been said before. Course is in good shape for winter.

Tees- Ridgeline was more beat up but still plenty of grass to be found and flat. Canyon Crest was more lush.
Fairways- Same as the tees in regards to Ridgeline/Canyon Crest
Rough- Lush throughout but not too penal. Consistent 2" almost everywhere I saw
Greens- Just about perfect. Firm, fast, and true but will hold well struck shots
Bunkers- Was in 2 today. First had beautiful fluffy sand. Second was thin layer on top of concrete.
Misc- Weather was absolutely perfect. Little breeze to speak of. Views are majestic and I can't wait to get out there again (too bad it's so far for me). Customer service was adequate. After finishing our round we asked the starter if it would be possible to play the Creekside 9 to experience all 27 holes and he happily sent us to the tee with no hesitation...only to come to us a few minutes later as we're on the 1st green and advise us that we had to check in the pro shop? Went to the pro shop and they said the replay rate for the 9 holes would be $35. That was odd, in any case we decided to just call it day. Go play now as they're about to begin aeration next week!
