Tee time: 12:03pm Monday 11/26- let out 10 minutes early by nice staff- 26 bucks to walk(great deal)
Weather: Low 60's slight breeze, cold air coursde played a little longer today
Tees: Tips-played as a twosome with my buddy Mack...POP walking 4 hours
Fairways: Green and lush in many spots with good turf- thin with good turf in others
Greens: A big improvement from the last several months, still holding irons with spin softly and receptive. Still some ballmarks on greens but only about as half as many since the last time I played here. Probably putting around a 9 on the stimp...an improvement
Bunkers: Not in any but contained white soft sand according to playing partner
Rough: Less than an inch right off the fairways, outside the cart paths =lost ball
Layout: Back nine awesome challenge...was stoked to shoot even par on the back nine this afternoon

Great practice facilities-get there early to take advantage of them....will be back for sure

Played Olivas this morning with JohnnyGK, rgm2525, and jimw224 and had an awesome time. The conditions were really quite nice in all respects, even managed to get most of the round in before the heavy clouds rolled in. Greens were at a medium speed, and pretty consistent throughout the whole course. Fairways, tee boxes, rough and traps were all very good as well. This layout is really nice, lots of opportunity to score, but you can get bit pretty quickly if you fall asleep. That 1st cut of rough isn't too bad, but if you get in the thick stuff good luck. I've made a point of playing here every time I'm down, and today certainly didn't disappoint. This place is always more than worth it.

Played 36 holes today at Olivas Links. First tee time at 7:24am (w/rgm2525, jamesph99. jimw224) and teed off for the second round close to 11:45am. Both rounds took just over 4 hours to play. The condition of the course was very good and I’m impressed the paspalum turf in the fairways and on the tee boxes has not yet gone dormant. In fact a lot of it is still hanging around. Overall the course was much more moist and soft than any of my previous rounds here. Typically when you play Olivas Links you get lots of roll in the fairways and need to putt or bump the ball around the greens; today more pitch shots were required and the greens held shots very well. Personally I prefer a firmer Olivas Links but I do enjoy seeing the course hold on to its lushness this deep into fall and am not complaining. The greens, with exception to the first few greens which have always been a challenge for Olivas to keep smooth, were mostly smooth at a medium speed. Being we were playing on a Sunday after a very busy Thursday, Friday and Saturday holiday weekend, I was impressed that there was only moderate ball mark damage. As many reviews have noted and I must too, the secondary rough that is generally a foot long and thick comes into play throughout the course. If you’re driving the ball erratically, be prepared to lose balls. It’s very difficult to find your ball or someone else’s for that matter in the heavy stuff…even if you do, good luck trying to play out of it. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a low cut or bare area but most of time the ball is gone. Lastly, regarding the bunkers, they were in excellent condition and well groomed with soft high quality sand.

After playing 36 holes in one day at Olivas Links I have to say this is a layout you will never get bored on. A great challenge while at the same time very interesting. The par 5’s create many risk reward opportunities and there is an excellent variety of short/long par 4’s. The par 3’s are your scoring holes at Olivas IMO but hole 13 is a killer. Looking forward to my next round at Olivas Links. I recommend playing here.

played 11-25 with johnnygk, jimw224, and jamesph99 from redmond, wa. tee boxes are level with good grass with a little divot damage on three pars. fairways are semi lush except for a few areas where it looks like they re-sodded. sand is soft and fluffy. greens are pretty soft but rolling good with medium fast speed. overall course is in good shape, just stay out of the tall rough if you go in most likely your ball is lost.

Great course, definitely a favorite, and one that I don't mind driving over an hour for. I love the easy to walk layout. Course is almost always if good condition. Yesterday though there were some soggy areas of fairway, although most of it was fine. Tee boxes were great, and bunkers were nice, soft, and fluffy. Rough is tough. Either a decent lie just off the fairway, or a few steps more in and it is mad thickness that you have to chop out of, and a bit beyond that in a few places are bare areas on dried wild grass, which isn't bad. Greens were a bit tough on pins today, as there always seemed to be just less break or just more break than appears.
On a Sunday at 11:30, finished in 4 hours, and only waited a handful of times on the group in front of us. I've had my best round at this course in the past, and one of my worst in years yesterday, but love it here and will be back for sure.

Played Saturday 11/3 in a LAGG League event with 19 golfers. The course was very accommodating to our group. The staff here is outstanding in all aspects and know how to make golfers happy. This course is a no frills pure golf experience with great practice facilities, a well maintained challenging course and a great attitude. Pace of play was fantastic with 5 groups in a tourney in the middle of the day on a Saturday, we finished in about 4 hours. The course in great shape with lush fairways, smooth greens and level tee boxes. Love the layout with some easy opening holes that builds in difficulty as the round progresses. No two holes are the same and the challenges are varied with undulated greens, forced caries and well placed hazards.

Played out here this afternoon with our LA Golf Group (congrats to kviser for taking down the 2012 season crown). The weather here was absolutely gorgeous today. The course was in pretty good shape overall. Greens were very nice, running at medium speeds. They had some really tough pin placements today, with most being just a few paces from the edges. With the large, undulating greens here it made for some tough putts and delicate approach shots. Fairways were nice for the most part, though there were some overly soggy/saturated areas scattered throughout the course. Tee boxes nice and level. Bunkers nice. Fun course, good times with the LAGG guys, perfect weather—nothing to complain about here!

Went out with my buddy longball23 on Monday afternoon 10/15. Fairways were excellent in my opinion. I really enjoyed the course being my second time there. The greens were running smooth with not to many bumps. Some bunkers were soft but one bunker I was in did not have that much sand in it. If you are off the fairways over the cartpath you are in trouble with some of the rough they have here. Price was excellent for twilight. I want to come back soon. Oh yes staff was nice in pro-shop as I signed up for their eagle card which is a free card. Could not believe longball23's 70...sick round.
