Played the tips on 12/31/2009....cold weather..light winds to start and then they picked up on back nine. Course is in very good shape. They overseeded tees and fringes and they are very LUSH and green right now. The greens are not still up to Olivas standards but are still in better than average shape. We fixed many ballmarks on the greens today that were old and new. Fairways are doormant brown and for the most part provide some cushion underneath your club. The rough is starting to grow up in certain spots around some fairways and if you find it it is for certain a lost shot. Pace of play was 5 hours due to the holiday. Friendly staff, great practice area and only $25.00 to walk at twilight......must play.

Played early on 12/31. Courteous, friendly service from the Starter as well as the Marshall at #1. The fairways have gone dormant for the most part but the lies are still adequate. Overseeded tee boxes are green, lush, and in good condition. the greens and aprons were also overseeded and are in great shape -- rolling true at medium speed. It rained the day before we played, which made the greens forgiving on chips and almost sticky with a wedge. The pace of play was terrific, virtually no waiting on any tee or fairway, even though we were a three-some. We took our time and still finished in exactly four hours. Our group had a really great experience at Olivas Links and we will be back again -- if the drive from the South Bay were shorter, we'd play here a lot.

Played yesterday 18 holes TW with some fellow GK’ers at Olivas Links. Took about 4 hours and 30 minutes with many holiday golfers (that includes me) playing. For the winter, I was impressed with the fairways. They were mostly thin and almost entirely yellow but you still had a decent amount of grass underneath the ball. The greens had more ball marks then I’m used to at Olivas but they still ran really nice. Moderately fast, mostly smooth and firm. What was a pleasant surprise in that it was warmer at Olivas Links (Ventura) then it was in Westlake Village. Normally you play Olivas to escape the heat of Summer and now, interestingly, you can also somewhat escape the cold in the winter. One of the best attributes about this demanding interesting track is it’s a walkers paradise. All the holes are flat and the tee boxes close to the previous hole greens. It’s a peaceful place to play that I always enjoy.

Out at Olivas Links at noon today. Course is in good shape considering it is winter conditions. Brown dormant grass in the fairways but enough grass to get some cushion underneath your clubface. The greens are not perfect and pristine but are in very good shape. They are rolling medium speed for Olivas's standards....I saw more divots today than normal so people really need to take care of these greens...they are the thing that rocks about this course. The sand and tees were in fine condition. Overall the course is playing beautiful. We played a 4 hour 45 minute round. Great practice facility and for $25 bucks walking at twilight this is a great deal.

The course is in great shape. The putts were rolling true. Luckily the rough is dying off and you can find your ball. Our 4some of 4 walkers played the front 9 in 2 hours and got yelled at by the starter to pick it up. We finished our round in 4 hours 15minutes. The course expects you to finish 4 hours 38 minutes. Really like the course but that starter was rude!

Played Olivas Links 11/23/2009 twilight. Fairways still have some nice grass underneath your ball but are loosing that green color. Greens are in good shape and are putting medium fast for Olivas's standards and holding iron shots very well. Bunkers are in great shape and some would say too soft as there are many "fried egg" lies to be had. Rough is still hit and miss depending on the hole...u can either be dead meat with knee length rough or be OK. Pace of play today was 4 hours 30 minutes walking. For the money a great walk and nice challenge.....staff always very friendly in the pro-shop.

Played the tips this afternoon at Olivas Links 11/16. The course is still in very good shape despite it getting cold. Fairways still in good shape and the greens were rolling quick but were holding iron shots very well. Alot of sand in the bunkers and the bunkers are in good shape. Tees perfect and level and customer service great inside the pro-shop. Good times.

The greens rolled and putted well, very consistent from green to green. The fairways and tee boxes were lush and well maintained, very few divot marks not maintained and healing. The sand traps were in excellent shape, well maintained with fine sand. Unfortunately, I had more experience there than I needed to write this review. The pro shop always does a fine job of getting a large amount of players through quickly and efficiently. The only negative was a Skins Tournament that was running behind schedule and bogged down the course, resulting in a 5 hour round where we barely finished before dark despite teeing off (at) barely after noon.

Played Olivas Links behind skins game with Nickesquire1. Olivas greens are in great shape right now rolling true and medium-fast. Fairways are in good shape, lush in most places ...dry in a few spots. Traps are in great shape, tees level and in great shape. I would consider playing this course early in the week for pace of play concerns. Staff are always wonderful in the pro-shop and Olivas has a great practice area. If you join their rewards card club they send you some good e-mail twilight and sunset specials. Def a place to play.
