Played this morning joining up with a couple other guys as the first group out. The course is in wonderful condition. The ground is very hard but there wa a nice grass covering where the grass should be. Greens were excellent as were tee boxes. As a threesome and the first group out we finished 18 in 3.5 hours which seemed good. The next group behind us was 7 holes back.

First time played here on Sunday morning, walked, and the pace was great. The course is certainly not your everyday SOCAL golf course. The layout is very challenging and there're generous amount of well maintained fairways if you trust your driver. The greens here require you to have your top wedge game if you miss your approach shots. This is where the bounce on your wedges really come in handy. The overall condition of the course is great and I can't wait to come back again.

Played Rustic Canyon from the blues. The fairways are in excellent shape right now. They are lush, green and thick. Perfect lies for the most part. The tee boxes are green and lush and the rough is thick and up around some of the fairways and is in good shape. The greens are slower for Rustic's standards but are in good shape and are holding shots very nice. Pace of play was excllent as was the pro-shop staff and grill staff. Food is great here. Must play.

This is a fantastic golf course. Great service, great layout, great greens (at present). I only can make a couple points which may further help the gk community. First, I would suggest that you should either carry your bag or ride. I like to walk and use a speed cart, but the way that the course routes walkers had me pushing my cart through many sandy areas. Second, if you play with expensive, newer wedges, I might suggest that you bring an old "beater" to play out of greenside bunkers or waste areas. There are many rocks in these areas, and its sad to see a grown golfer cry. Otherwise, I would rate my day at Rustic Canyon as one of my best golf experiences ever ... and I'm pretty old.

Played Rustic Canyon from the blues....greens are in great shape and are receptive to iron shots and chips and are rolling well. The tee boxes are in very good shape. The fairways are dry in spots and you are getting a ton of roll on your drives. Sand is firm, rough is nice length. Back nine layout is a GREAT layout...one of the best in VC county...staff are always friendly and pace of play was great. A must play.

I'm addicted to this course. I play it every time I visit California. Every hole is unique. Short game requires a lot of imagination and find yourself hitting some really fun shots. Tee boxes were great, greens were very good, fairway need to fill in quite a bit. Found myself in the fairway a couple times without much grass underneath. Great, great course.
Fantastic value.

Just awesome....although for ungulation of the grees they need to be slowed up a touch.

Played twilight this afternoon 3/9/2009. Course still has a lot of roll on drives, fairways are dry but still in pretty good shape. Greens have slowed down over the last two weeks or so...seems like they are thicker. Still rolling true. Rough is up and thicker around the fairways. Sand is in decent shape. Pace of play was good today on the front, had to wait some on the back nine.
