Played this morning teeing off at 6:10AM. The greens are doing nicely since the plugging. The first few holes were real slow due to the plugging and the wetness on the greens. After the 4th hole the greens were just slow from the plugging. Although plugged the greens were looking real nice, in a couple of weeks they should be back to normal. Pace of play was good (4h15m), never saw the group in front, never had a group behind. Aside from the greens, the course was in fine shape. Oh, and walk this course, the walk down the 13th in the morning is glorious, and cannot be replicated in a cart.

8 of us played Memorial Day. We were the first two groups out. It was the first time we played the course and heard all about its links style and glowing reviews. We were not disappointed. Fantastic course. There was no wind. You cannot walk this course. You must ride a cart. If you walk, you will walk through dirt and sand and your shoes and push cart will be ruined. Anyways, an all around great experience. We will be back.

Played on Memorial Day Holiday. The course was in pretty good shape all around, but I can tell why the course is punching the greens tomorrow; it's time for it. Pace of play was outstanding (we playd pretty early in the morning). Overall, another enjoyable round at Rustic.

Played on 5/23/09 with an 8:20 tee time. Course was in good shape, although there are lots of dry brown patches in the fairway, and some animal holes where I hadn't seen them before. Green were fine... Continue »

Played on 5/23/09 with an 8:20 tee time. Course was in good shape, although there are lots of dry brown patches in the fairway, and some animal holes where I hadn't seen them before. Green were fine but not as quick as I was expecting.

The wind kicked up on the back 9, making the tee shots on 14 and 16 pretty challenging. Pace of play was fine for a weekend.

Played midday today 5/11. The fairways are in beautiful shape. The tee boxes are all level and in good shape. I am worried about the greens and some portions of the course due to the hot and dry weath... Continue »

Played midday today 5/11. The fairways are in beautiful shape. The tee boxes are all level and in good shape. I am worried about the greens and some portions of the course due to the hot and dry weather coming up. The greens were slow for Rustic's standards and had some fungus on some of them. The rough was in good shape. Pace of play was great as we walked the blue tees in 4 hours. Rustic at midday or twilight rates is the best value around VC county.

Played mid-day rates today and walked from the blue tees. Fairways are in excellent shape and looked like they had just been cut recently. Greens were slow for Rustic standards and held iron shots very nicely. The tee boxes were in good shape, the sand is on the thinner side. The pace of play was great today..we walked in just over 4 hours. The wind swirled for most of the day and is a great part of the Rustic experience...grill staff nice as well as the guys in the pro-shop. Rustic's rates are a great value and I would recommend this course to anyone.

It's my first time playing on this course. Great course for high handicap such as myself. Fairways are pretty open and wide. The view is also not bad at all. I had a relaxing experience.
