Course is very green after all the rain. Tee boxes are in good shape, but had to search for a level stance on many of them. Fairways are in good shape, not much roll out with recent rains. Rough was in good shape with some real long nasty areas of 5- 6 inches and thick. They hadnt groom many of the sand traps after the rain but the ones the had looked real nice. Greens where a little bumpy and on the slow side. Overall course held up real good after the rains.

Played today in 3.5 hours. Course is in great shape. Greens the best I played all year. We had some wind but it was ok. Great customer service. Go play you won't regret it.

Played my birthday round this morning 9/15/2014 playing the blue tees with my buddy Matt(Barkydog1). We teed off first group at 6:30am to beat the heat. Played in 3 hrs 25 minutes riding which is mandatory here. The greens were punched and sanded on 9/2 and 9/3 and have not completely healed. We knew this going in so putts were slower and had some bumpiness to them. I would give them at least 2 more weeks of healing before you can expect a true roll. The fairways had decent coverage. Some thin areas of hardpan here and there with the drought conditions. The tees were semi-lush with some divot damage on the 3 pars. The one bunker I was in greenside on #15 contained thick beach sand and was well raked in good shape. The rough here along the fairways is a mixed bag of thickness and some hardpan areas depending on the hole you are on. I usually don't play that well here but had a surprisingly good front nine. If you play here often you know that the front has some tricky shots like your lay-up shot on #1, tee shot on #3 and the tee shot on #8 can be tricky depending on how much you chew off. For just the cart fee today of $15.00 it was worth it but would have been disappointed to pay the full rack rate. Staff was friendly in the shop and a nice place to practice your short game including a grass driving range.

First time playing here in almost 15 years in spite of living just down the road for all but 2 of those years. Played the blues (70.6/129/6557) in 3H, 45M on a prepaid GolfNow deal for $28 including a cart. Carts were good, GPS to the front, middle & back of the green with yardage markers to fairway traps on some holes. However, they could have used more yardage information on the forced carry holes. And EVERY time you started the cart, you had to scroll through the pace you were actually on and the expected pace. When you are 15 to 30 minutes ahead of the expected pace, it is REALLY annoying to have to forward through this on EVERY SHOT to get distance information. GK showed that the greens were recently aerated, so I inquired beforehand and was told they were "lightly sanded". However, this appeared to be a full blown aeration with medium to large holes & heavy sanding to me. I love a layout that has five par 5's and five par 3's, which Tierra Rejada has. However, this layout is somewhat quirky. Hole 3 is a par 4 with a blind tee shot over a hill that has OB left and is red staked right with maybe 35 yards in between including rough on each side. Hole 8 is a severely downhill par 4 with a forced carry to a diagonal fairway that could be anywhere from a mid iron to a driver depending on how much real estate you decide to try and go over on your tee shot... but it's strictly a guess on what club to hit. And if you guess wrong, both sides of the fairway are red staked. Hole 17 is a severely downhill 75 yard par 3 that wouldn't be a good golf hole on a mediocre par 3 course. However, there ARE many good golf holes on this course as well. Several of the par 5's are potentially reachable for longer hitters, creating good risk/reward possibilities and there were several really good, challenging par 4's and par 3's. Several holes have nice, decorative and well placed water features that really come into play, and the front 9 in particular has several holes with spectacular views. The greens putted poorly, slow and bumpy. At least they held approach shots well. I was in 3 green side traps, they looked good but were all very wet from specific spot daytime watering. Both the fairways and rough were OK, ranging from lush to thin with no noticeable bare spots. However, many had some areas that had severe divot damage. The tees were downright poor, many needed divot repair and the turf was worn thin in many spots. Regular, daily divot maintenance was NOT happening on these tees. The turf was not well maintained, and many tees were as much weeds as good turf. Very poor condition for a course that is at least middle of the road if not above average on price. For a course that has about 10 holes that have drop zones, these were almost an afterthought. Mowing down an unlevel place in the rough once a week, putting a small circle around it and hardly ever repairing divots is poor considering how often the average golfer is likely to utilize a drop zone on this course. If you actually did a proper drop, it was roughly 50-50 that you would be playing out of an old, unfixed divot no matter where you dropped in the small drop circle. The drop zones were like the tees, poor. Customer service was super for checking me in and getting me right out on the 1st tee. However, not as good @ accurately reporting the condition of the greens beforehand. This course is not worth nearly the normal green fee rate with so many cheaper and better options nearby. You should stay away from this course for a minimum of 10 days to let the greens heal, it is not even worth a severely discounted green fee to play on the greens I putted on today.

first time and i loved it. very challenging and difficult and i wouldn't have it any other way. conditions were great even though California is in water shortage stage. tee boxes were nicely leveled. fairways were dry but still GREEN. Traps were good. Greens were med/fast and some were firm due to being latter part of the day. otherwise, this is a MUST play course if you're up to the challenge

Not a fan of mountain courses, but if it didn't take so long to get there, I would probably play here 2x a month. A pretty nice and fun layout, and I will definitely be back.

The good: Basically empty, played in 3 hours, fun track (except for #17), worth the $25 on Golfnow. The bad: greens super bumpy, do not hold line, major bummer.

I love the Super Bowl. When else can you get a great course like Tierra Rejada done in less than 4 hours at an amazing $30 online rate? Played as a single and was paired up with another and away we went around 12:20pm. Being Super Bowl Sunday we more or less had the course to ourselves until the back 9 when we ran into a rather slow group of gals, but we had blazed so fast on the front 9 that it was just fine. Course is always in good condition - this was my third visit. First off, the greens are terrific, maybe a little slower than I remember, but always some very challenging pin placements. TR is great because the design really allows for good golf - plenty of bowl-shaped green areas that allow what seems to be a poor ball actually turn into a good one. This is not to say the course is easy - at all. The front 9 is loaded with canyons and ravines to cross and a lack of accuracy is punished. I was playing a darn good round up until the 7th and then my tee shots started going a bit wayward and I often found myself hitting on 3 which sucked. With the SoCal drought the course is still in quite good condition - no complaints on the fairways whatsoever. The rough is just that - rough! You can find yourself in a mess of a thicket quite easily so it's better to be accurate than long here, unless you can do both. Tee boxes were in fine shape as well. Staff was great - very accommodating and the starter even gave me a token for free to hit balls and got us off early. Finished the round around 4:00 so less than four hours is great. Tierra Rejada - if you haven't played here, do it - you won't regret it one bit. And one tip - for most of the holes it's better to be long than short. Most will deposit your ball right onto the green. Be back here just as soon as I can make the trip.
