Buenos Dias from Coral Canyon! You are one fun and challenging course!


Coral Canyon is another hybrid Desert / Mountain Championship Course that features elevation changes, strategic bunkering, limited water hazards, beautiful nature, canyons, along with beautiful views.


The course was very challenging and required precision off the tee and on approach shots. Grateful my game was on, otherwise this course can really beat up players who are not precise. Not saying the place was too tight or unreasonable, but it is visually intimidating at times and surroundings are always penal with lost ball being a high possibility.


The course played its yardage, fairways offered moderate roll out on drives and greens held approach shots well. The course was well manicured and in really good condition. The overall course layout is rated a 4.5 out of 5 and conditions are rated a 4.4 out of 5 for this time of year. I note the following:


Tee Boxes: Level and green, no damage. Condition above-average.


Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Condition above-average.


Greens: Green, medium-fast in speed, with firmness. Noted to be undulating and hard to read at times. Speed about a 11. Condition above-average.


Sand: very well maintained, and heavy. Condition above-average.


Rough: very well maintained and defined, about 3 – 5 inches. Condition above-average.


Water Hazards: limited and well maintained. Noted people fishing in one of the lakes after the course closed.


Waste Areas: Waste areas were maintained with manicured nature that offered little to no recovery potential. Condition excellent.


Driving Range and Practice Areas: The range was nice and off grass that was in good of shape. Range included various markers from 75 - 250 yards. Range balls were quality Yellow-Ranger golf balls that were well maintained. I also noted a very nice chipping.


Practice Putting Greens: Two were noted. Medium and in very nice condition. Speed was consistent with course.


POP: 4.23 hours – no wait was encountered but there were plenty of golfers playing.


Pro Shop: High quality and beautifully stocked. Service received was excellent.


Food: Nice restaurant and very good food!


Customer Service: Perfect!


I really enjoyed this course and note such as a good test of golf for even a low handicap golfer. This is a course where you do not want to lose your focus, or it will get you!


Another great course in Southern Utah, that is strongly recommended. The design is outstanding, just make sure you bring your Game. Would play here again, anytime!


Grade A for CCGC. Do not pass this one up on your St. George Golf Trip!

This was the last course we played for our golf group outing. Rack rate was $125 but given a discount because tee boxes were being aerated. It was a windy day when we played.

This course has a lot of up and down elevation. Some target golf as some fairways had some cervices that separated the fairways. Greens were in good condition and did hold shots when landed properly. Fairways were nice and lush and rough was cut higher but not penalizing. The greenside bunkers were compacted red sand. Cart GPS was very hard to read as it had a very small screen and only read distance to pin.

Overall I would rate this course at a $75 rack rate not $125. Staff were very friendly. For those who play the Inland Empire, I would compare this course to the likes of Hidden Valley.

First time Here. Pleasantly surprised. New ownership has put a lot of $ into the course.

Course is under new ownership/management. They are rebuilding the tee boxes and fixing the greens and some of the course features. Fairways were in very good shape and the greens were a tad spongy but in good shape. Pace of play was normal. It seems like this place was neglected for a long time but the new regime has things pointed in the right direction.

Played here 1st time on Saturday 6/6. Overall conditions were below average to poor, especially on the greens. Check in was easy, very friendly staff inside proshop, however, did find water and an unopened can of red bull in with warm water in the onboard cooler, prior to heading down to driving range. Range was open but grass was quite long although very green and lush. Encountered a fairway bunker on 1st fairway, which had some standing water on small pebbles, Very thick stick red clay in this bunker. Other bunkers which I found greenside had softer white sand, however, again lots a small pebbles and even dime sized small rocks. Tee boxes were chewed up with many unfilled divots, especially bad on the par 3 tees. Fairways in general were good to very good..in spots, but brown and dormant in others. Greens were biggest disappointment. While rolled surprisingly smooth in some spot, the amount of dead areas or brown spots (fungus?) meant you were almost certain to navigate small hazards on the actual green surface. Some of the worst conditioned greens I've ever played on. Can't imagine they are going to improve as temperature goes up. Layout was interesting, but given the conditions, difficult to appreciate. As first time on any St. George course, I was also a little underwhelmed with the scenic value as well. I only played the front 9 due in part to conditions and by the time I reached the 6th hole, the pace of play slowed to a crawl.

Terrific layout, but it feels like it’s falling apart at the seams. Tee boxes are not level, several parts of the course are “under repair” (without any obvious work being done), cart paths have fallen apart in places with temporary and random trails through the dirt and brush. Some of the fairways and greens have large bare spots. If you ignore all the rough edges, the course is still fun, and the scenery still spectacular. It’s a shame that the conditioning and maintenance of the course lags so far behind the course design/layout.

Played here on a Thursday morning...for the first time ever. This course has a fun layout. Back to back par 5s then a par 3 make for an interesting way to start the day. Hole 1 is reachable so that always helps, hole 2 is a very long par 5. Then, a few holes later you have almost a 500 yard par 4 (from the tips). Everyone in the pro shop , outside services department and the snack shop are SUPER nice...definitely good on a golf course.

Tees - some were hard to find a flat part to hit from, but all were blessed with good grass coverage. Would give these a 7 out of 10 here.

Fairways - some had some visible signs where it was still recovering from a big flood last year (apparently some of the holes were completely under water), but most were in good enough condition to play from any day of the week. Would give these a 7 out of 10 as well.

Rough - same as the fairways...I guess that's to be expected though. 7 out of 10 rating for me.

Sand - there was a big rain the night before, so most had a lot of standing water our first time around. We just played as GUR and pulled and placed. no rating on these since I didn't actually play out of them.

Greens - few had visible bumps, fungus spots, etc...but it didn't really affect play at all. Ran a little slow though...maybe a 7 on the stimp.

Pace of play - this part was awesome. We were behind a 4 some who told us they were within one shot of the group in front of them....but we could see the next 3 holes and there was no one on them. After the marshal came around and realized what was happening, he stayed with the group in front of us until they caught back up. Then, on 11 they fell behind again...waived us up and told us they were within one shot of the group in front of them again. When we passed them, we didn't catch anyone until hole 15, so I guess we have very different interpretations of "within 1 shot of the group in front". Regardless though - the marshal was awesome here to keep things moving. When we played our second round, there was no one out there and we flew around in just under 3 hours.

Will definitely be back to this course...fun layout, nice people, well worth the trip.

Off on a UT/CO golf trip. First stop was here, to see an old friend (Memorial Day). We had to play in the afternoon, due to my arrival schedule. Got out around 4 and we finished in 3 hours and had the course to ourselves (fasted golf carts I have ever been in). Had not played here in many years and had forgotten how nice the layout through the canyon is. I found the course just coming into it's spring arising? The tee boxes did not have full coverage, but that did not effect anything. Fairways were just filling in nicely (did find some brown areas) but they provided good lies and good roll. Bunkers were "crispy" but I have found that many of the courses here in this area are like that (but they were not soft). Rough was about 1/2 inch and it was tough. Greens, though they did not look "pristene" were suprising fast and quick all round and fun to play. Customer service was excellent at all levels. While this may not be the best time to play here, I would not hesitate to play in June/July/Aug/Sept (if I can stand the heat). Bet Sept/Oct are just great though?

Played here 4-3 on a warm sunny windless day . You couldn't ask for better weather.
Tee time was 8:00 am and got out right on time. Booked on the phone and paid $75 which I think is a very fair price for this course in the high season for St George.
The course has a good mix of holes with par 3's from 110 yards to 190 yards( from the whites)
Some of the holes had tee shots that required a good carry to reach the fairway but nothing extreme.
The fairways were lush and left you with very good lies. The rough was around 2" and made you work to get out. If you strayed too far your ball ended up in desert and rocks.
Bunkers here were red heavy sand but ok to hit from in the one I found.
Greens were excellent and had very few ball marks.
This course while not as scenic as Sand Hollow it was still quite pleasant. There are homes around the course but most are back and really do not detract from the views.
The staff from the very friendly and cute cart girls that meet you at your car to the marshal who was around several times were top notch and very pleasant. There was no cart this day. Not sure if this is the norm here.
I would play here again next time I make the trip to St George.
