John_T and I joined the Pisarski crew for an early Friday (7/9) morning unofficial GK meet up. Thanks to Matt for snagging the first 2 tee times. Paid $100, which I thought was a bit high until after I played, then I thought it was correctly priced.

Easy pro shop check in and a large selection of merchandise. I indulged myself with a Wolf Creek wolf head ball marker and a new hat. Prices are as expected for a pro shop. Enjoyed an excellent preround Bloody Mary (adding the pickle is incredible) and had lunch after the round. It was a bit busy for lunch, but service was fast once they caught up. Outside services was great. They took the cart to fill a tire while we checked in after noticing it was a little low.

Course was in better than expected shape for the middle of a very dry summer (until this week). They were doing some tee box repairs on the middle tee grounds, so tees were moved up or back. Fairways (outside of 10) were lush. Rough was about 1-2 inches and pretty even across the course. Bunkers were excellent with white sand now in all the bunkers. Greens were good, a bit slow due to the need to keep them long in the heat. Unrepaired ballparks became a theme of the weekend.

I try to never pass up the chance to play Wolf Creek. I find it a very fun course and it has incredible views. With the fact it's a destination course, expect some slower rounds, but we around the front in 2 hours but hit the split tee groups on the back. Highly recommend.

First Round of the Gk Plays weekend was out here at Wolf Creek. We scored the first two tee times out on the front nine as they do split tee starts. Weather was 98° at 6:30AM! on the first day of the major heatwave to hit the south west. Staff provided a bunch of waters in the coolers and told us to grab as much as we can. There is also a snack shack after holes 5 and 14 to load up on paid beverages. The Starter warned us not to go too fast because we would either run into maintenance or run into the last groups teeing off on the back nine. We did not have any issues with the maintenance but did have to wait about 10 mins for the 10th tee to clear and also slowed down the back nine a bit. Total POP was around 4:30 but I would imagine 5+ for the rest of the groups.

This was probably my 6 or 7th time playing the course usually in the summer and I dont think I have seen the course in better summer shape. Tee boxes were fine all though they have one box closed at each tee for renovation but it was always a different tee so no real affect to the lengths. Fairways are lush and I would say 95 percent dark lush green. Rough was decent within 5-10 yards of the fairway turning brown and into waste the farther offline you go. Greens were a bit slower today than I can remember in the past probably because of the 120° heat that hit this last weekend. They rolled at a medium pace but I notice a lot of un repaired ball marks from the previous days play and that was a let down. Sand was decent in the one trap I was in so no issue there.

I do have to point out that something is wrong with their lakes as the smell was not pleasant and hole 8 is a real let down when on the green surrounded by water that smells almost sewer like. They really need to figure out what is wrong because its flat out disgusting. The water looked clear too so not sure what is going on.

This course is a must play as most of the younger generation have played it on the tiger woods video games over the last 20 years. It is the disneyland of golf and I highly suggest taking a trip to check it out. Also the rack rate was only $100 for a Friday Morning at 6:30. Thats a steal in my book.

Played Wolf Creek Sunday with an 8:10 start time. Staff greeted us at the truck with our carts, gave us a lot of helpful information and super friendly. Checked in and the staff again super friendly efficient and we went to the all grass driving range and putting/chipping green, were well maintained and supplied with range balls. Started right on time the starter took our picture, very friendly guy who told us about maintenance going on and to take our time and enjoy the round. The heavy use this course gets and the high temps weighed heavy on the tee boxes though you could tell they work hard to keep them in good shape. Fairways and rough were lush with a few thin areas, sand traps were firm but with a solid stroke definitely playable. The greens were in great shape considering the heavy use and high temperatures. They were smooth with a few bumpy areas on one or two and rolled fast to medium fast with a lot of undulations. The layout was spectacular with amazing views water features and of course the bluffs and red rock. Very fun and enjoyable course with many challenging holes. Would recommend playing this course. Plan on playing it again! The price was $110, dropping to $100 in a week. Well worth the price. Played Sunbrook later in the afternoon after returning to St George. drove out to mesquite on a weekend trip to vegas. horrid traffic btw. definitely a vacation 'fun' type of golf course, with lots of views, vistas, and fun tee shots. excellent customer service with quick check-in and friendly starter. water provided and you could ask for more. gas carts here because of the elevation. tee boxes flat and fairways had good coverage but you could notice just the brown creeping in both on fairways and tee boxes. definitely not as green as the website. they will be starting maintenance may 31 including pulling cores and verticutting. very minimal rough to speak of. bunkers were in fair condition and good to hit out of with a moderate layer of sand. greens were running smooth and moderate speed but i had a difficult time judging breaks for some reason. pop was an excellent 4.25h for this course. definitely a destination course to visit when out in the area. this course gets a lot of 9.9s and 10s here and though i agree the experience is there i don't believe the conditions necessarily warrant that in the two times i've been here.

Finally made it out to Vegas again. I always like to get a few rounds of golf in. It was difficult to get a tee time at Wolf Creek they were full on a couple days but eventually I was able to secure a tee time on a Thursday. The other courses were easier to get times on. Wolf Creek is one of my top 5 courses of all time. Not so much for the difficulty but the views never get old and are incredible. I read a few reviews about conditioning since no overseed this year and had some concern. After talking to the golf shop and getting their take and standing on the first tee I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about. obviously they are bitter about something other than the golf. The superintendent has done a fantastic job with the course and the views are just as stunning as I remember. Greens are smooth and if I hit a good putt I made it. I travel alot and have had a chance to play the who's who of golf courses and I would put Wolf Creek at the top. Its so unique and unforgettable. I see why the video games want to use Wolf Creek. Its a blast!!

Rode the Blues (6377/71.8/144) in 5H, 20M. Partly cloudy, around 70 and a consistent 15-25 mph wind did not assist the POP. Played with Terry, Larry and Bob. Lots of elevation changes, spectacular surroundings and a bunch of very tough golf holes describe this layout. Very impressive course with a great variety of holes. Tees very nice, mowed tight with few unfixed divots. Fairways lush and mowed low for lots of roll. Rough was mostly dormant Bermuda, mowed down low. Get off the beaten path into the native area and it's a penalty, unlikely you are playing out of that stuff. Sand traps were nicely maintained with very nice fine sand. And my rating comes with plenty of experience. I think I set a personal record with twelve, count them, 12 greenside bunker shots today. Tough greens, undulating and large. Firm and in the wind, nothing was holding. They were smooth and putted deceptively fast. If you were down hill and down wind, good luck! This is one of the most unforgiving courses I have ever played. Two specific examples. #9 I had 75 yards in for my approach shot, and hit a sand wedge on the front of the green... for about 5 seconds. 45 seconds later, I was preparing to hit my 3rd shot, another sand wedge, from 85 yards away after it ran Augusta like past where I started from. But #13 was the best. Had a downhill, downwind putt for birdie that I just tapped. It was rolling faster and faster, finally, I had a 62 YARD par putt back up the hill according to my GPS watch. Only because it barely stopped on a plateau, otherwise it would have been over 100 yards. These are not criticisms, because I found the course to be thoroughly enjoyable. If I have ever played a tougher course under 6500 yards, not sure what it was? I had a very good ball striking day and the course still stole my lunch $$$. I hit what I initially thought were quite a few good golf shots before the wind and the terrain proved that presumption incorrect. Customer Service what you would expect @ a high end club, everyone was great. Open snack stand on the course. Pro Shop well stocked. All grass range with complementary Pro V practice balls. Only negative was gas powered golf carts with no GPS. Highly recommended, fantastic course!

Played Wolf Creek on 11/16 on a 50th birthday golf trip. Played it once before and it makes my top 3 golf courses I've played so the expectations were very high.

The layout was nothing less than outstanding, the greens just about perfect. The whole experience was incredible. Not only is the course awesome but the staff do such a great job at making you maximize your experience.

If I did have one complaint and it could be just this time of year, is that the fairways were awfully thin. Last time I played there, I recall how nice the ball would sit on the fairways, almost as if they were teed up. Not this time but I'll give them a pass this time.

I had an amazing time at Wolf Creek. The course was in perfect shape, service was good and the golf shop was great. It is hard to beat that first tee shot. Standing way above the fairway and watching the ball in the air what seemed like forever. The range is small so having a huge landing area on number 1 is a bonus. Every hole had something unique and fun about it. It presented a number of risk reward opportunities. I pulled off a couple of them and was penalized a few times when I didn't. It is nothing like any course I have played and I consider that a good thing. Bring a few golf balls and enjoy the views and your day. It is truly out of this world.

Played on Friday, 7/10, with Rob and Matt. Slightly over an hour north of Vegas for an 8am tee time. A steal at $90.

Absolutely love this course. It’s my favorite. After playing the course once or twice, you’ll be able to visualize every hole. Views are amazing.

We started on 10, which is a little disappointing because the 1st hole is a spectacular par 5 with elevated tee box to large fairway and then back uphill to the green. On the plus side, I like the 9th hole better than 18 for the finishing hole.

Course conditions were good. Considering the heat, I’d expect the grass to be struggling but it wasn’t. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were all well maintained. Bunkers were good, although some were just a little bit crusty, the single negative I have.

Single rider carts, with two water bottles at the start. There’s no drink cart, but a strategically placed snack shack is passed twice, once front and once back. We also saw the marshal driving around offering more water.

Definitely will be back to play.
