You know how many courses give names to their holes, like "The Road Hole"? I think you can name all of the par 3's at Quintero "Holy Cr*p". The most amazing set of par 3s I've ever seen, and all the other holes are pretty spectacular as well.

I can echo prior sentiments - this is an amazing course in great condition. I highly recommend it if you have the chance.

One warning - the on-cart GPS gives you front/mid/back distances only, and there is no course layout on the scorecard. That is, you have no idea where the hole goes, or distances to any hazard. I lost many strokes because I was playing to the wrong location. So....be sure to take any GPS/laser/yardage book you can get, you'll need it.

Played on a very, very, windy day. Loved the course, despite the extreme cold and wind.

Course was in perfect condition, staff nicer than most any place I've played recently, pace of play was lightning quick. Greens held well, fairways were, literally, perfect, traps well placed and cut well.

This is likely not a good choice for new or weaker golfers. It is a tough test, and tighter than most courses.

Played today right before a huge monson storm. The best course in the area by far. Its a little bit of a drive but ever aspect is great here. The cumstomer service is the best you will find the ameneties other than the unfinished clubhouse are the best. In mid summer the conditions are probably one of the best. Challenging but fair layout that has an amazing variety of holes. If you dont mind a little of a drive I 100% recomend this course.

Played Wed. 06/25 I had been wanting to play this course since reading great reviews from GK. Course is out in the middle of nowhere. Course is about a 5 minute cart ride from the parking lot to the course/practice range. I had such high expectations so my review may seem a little negative. Tee Boxes are very good. The fairways seemed very hard and thin, like I was hitting off hardpan all day and the greens still had quite a bit of sand on them. They did putt fast and true though. POP was 5 hours also

Unbelievably gorgeous, one of the finest courses in the country.

Unbelievably gorgeous, one of the finest courses in the country.

Played Dec. 24 about 9am. Upon arrival, seeing the greens being hand-mowed (props to the management) instantly upped my expectations for the 18 holes my brothers, dad, and I were about to enjoy.

Tee Box: Silver/Gold Combo - Slope 140; Rating 72.1

This course was pristine, from tee to green. Manicured to host a tour event.

Every tee box was level and green with minimal divot damage on par-3s. Multiple tees per hole allowed for several tee combinations, awesome for playing the par-3s varying by 40+ yards.

Fairways were near perfect, and displayed a beautiful checkerboard pattern throughout the course.

Greens... Wow, smooth and true in every way. The starter valued the stimp at about 13, claiming some areas downslope with the grain hit 15-17. He was right, luckily I only found one for a three putt, ha.

Bunkers were great, the best I've played in years. It's hard to find quality sand at courses these days, and this "once-a-year" high-end gem delivered.

This golf course is pristine. Every single aspect was spectacular.
Course conditions ranked up there with the best I had ever played (LACC north, tpc stadium, coyote moon gc, headwaters at Teton springs). The greens rolled a 13 by the starters knowledge, and boy was he right. Greens were lightning fast, firm, and true. The fairways were perfect, all checkerboard mowed and visually stunningly. All bunkers were outlined with dormant summer grass and it looked awesome.

Quintero presents a tough challenge and it certainly got the better of my score but I can't wait to return and play again during peak season. If you are in Phoenix/Scottsdale area DO NOT hesitate to play. Golfnow for 100$ a round and it will be worth every penny.

I have played this course a few times. It was - again - in excellent shape. Greens firm, fast and true. My only concern was that this time it took us 5 hours to play. That is totally unacceptable for any course. We mentioned it to the marshall on the 6th hole, however his comment was "well the spacing is very good"....I'm still not sure what that meant! and never saw a marshall after that. I did speak to the Head Pro/Manager, Mike when we were finished, he apologized for the slow round. They are getting new carts with GPS system which will tell them where everyone is on the course and identify problem areas/groups so they can address it immediately . It is becoming a very popular course and therefore play may be a bit slower....nevertheless it is very good, and somewhat challenging track.

Went back to play Quintero Feb. 13th. The course was in great shape. When we arrived for our 1130 time, we were advised there had been a 40 minute frost delay. We had coffee and went up to the practice area which now has a putting green, spoke to the starter who told us they had made up most of the delay, and were pretty close to on time. We did tee off just about right on time, 2 of our 4some played from the 3rd set of tees, and 2 of us played from the 2nd set, the tips (1st set) are too long for us- well over 7K yards ! The course is very enjoyable, but it can be a very difficult course to play, so select you tee's wisely. As mentioned in great shape. The group in front of us was a bit slow and had to be prodded several times by the marshal. I do like the course and will play it again, however the "rack rate" is too high for regular play, so check around the various sites to get better/good deals. The girl at the check in desk told us they couldn't come near the rate we paid, well under half price. The customer service is very good. Still temp. pro-shop and grill (very small) but this time there was a cart girl. Enjoy it.

Played Quintero Golf Club on 1/2/13 as part of my now annual vacation in the Phoenix area around New Year's week. First of all, Quintero is about a 45 minute drive NW of Phoenix, outside of Peoria. The course is quite worth the drive, but be prepared for a challenge.

Upon pulling in to the facility, the first impression was that the golf course was well-hidden from the highway. About a quarter mile later, we started seeing signs of the golf course. My two playing partners and I arrived about an hour early for 1:00 PM tee time (the first twilight time of the day) which we booked on the course's website as a $56 special. Normal price for twilight was $85. Checked in to a well stocked pro shop as the staff setup our carts immediately. Unfortunately, we were informed that the course had a 90 minute frost delay earlier in the morning, which was going to put us behind. This was no fault of the course, but made us a little concerned as we really wanted to finish before dark as we had never played the course before.

When we got to the practice area, which was about a five minute cart ride, we notice that playing in the group directly in front of us was PGA Pro Aaron Baddeley. My first thought was hopefully I didn't hit into his group since we were the tee time right behind them.

The pace of play was not bad considering that the course was jam packed from the earlier frost delay. Keeping up with Baddeley's group in front of us, we managed to finish just before dark, altough at much higher scores.

The course itself was in immaculate shape. The fairways were completely manicured, with very few divots. The greens were lightning fast and very firm. I felt like I was putting at a major championship. As for the difficulty of the course, it is one of the toughest I have ever played. For a hilly desert layout, the course was very tight. Errant tee shots found either deep fairway bunkers, desert scrub, or water hazards. Greens were well guarded by deep bunkers. The slope of 137 was well earned from the silver (middle tees).

I would highly recommend playing this course if you are in the Phoenix area. The only qualifier that I would add is that you really must bring your "A" game with you!
