Played Grandview GC for the first time in a couple of years. The new desert landscape was done very professionally. It really doesn't come into play unless your golf ball is heading towards the white stakes. Fairways are in GREAT shape as well as the greens. The bunkers are the best conditioned bunkers around. Still a value at the $72 green fee for those who have discriminating tastes in golf courses. Pace of play was at 4 hours for 18 holes and we played behind a threesome of walkers. Pro-shop staff was helpful and friendly at check-in, while the driving range tee and range balls continue to be the best around! Please don't play here as I want to keep it as my little secret. :)

Played on a cold Sunday morning with a friendly resident of the community and flew around in less than 3 hours.

Everything was in excellent condition. Fairways lush, bunker sand great, typical dormant bermuda rough but not down to hardpan at this point in the year like you see on other courses. Didn't really run into any heavily watered/soggy spots except maybe one in a greenside depression that gets runoff. Greens were very smooth and healthy, you would have had to try hard to find a ball mark or any blemishes. Speed was typical for the Sun City West courses.

The restaurant in the clubhouse (Crooked Putter) was open for breakfast/lunch but I didn't partake.

Since the last time I played here, they have added a "white/gold" combo tee at 6077 yards, 69.0/120, which I tried this time and really enjoyed, especially in the colder temperatures. It isn't on the paper scorecards yet but they have an image of it posted at the clubhouse.

Great value as always for $55 to walk on a weekend morning.

Greens too slow for my taste but very consistent.

A well kept and fair test of golf for your beginner / senior / few rounds a year player.

Joined up with the GK Family last weekend at Grandview. Thanks to Johnny and the staff at Grandview for setting up this fun event. To be brutally honest I was not expecting the greatest conditions or course layout going into this round. Boy was I wrong. This Course has a fun layout and the conditions far exceeded my expectations.

Everything was in fantastic summer shape. Lush tee's, fairways, rough, and greens. I don't know what type of grass they have but the ball sat up nicely in fairways and rough was not over penalizing. Greens were perfect and have some crazy designs on a few holes. It would take a few round to learn the breaks on these greens. I must have missed 15 putts by misidentifying the break. The greens were receptive and rolled smooth all day.

Overall if you are in the area it is a great place to play and a wonderful value especially the snack bar.

Played in the 8/25 GK outing. I can pretty much cut & paste my review from 5 years ago. I concur with others from the outing about the nice conditions and the great value you get at Grandview. Thanks to JohnnyGK & Seve B for being great hosts. I enjoyed meeting some new, seeing some old & playing with fellow GKers.

Conditions all around were very good. We teed off earlier than in years past. The course held its moisture and played pretty soft. Not much roll out in the fairways. The greens held shots next to your ball mark. They were slower than I remember. Around 9 -9.5. The renovation of the sand traps came out excellent. It's a finer softer sand now.

Grandview is one of seven courses in the Sun City West retirement community. They don't have outside service or an on course beverage cart. They don't need them since it's not supported by the retirees. Stock up on food & beverages pre round and at the turn. Prices are very reasonable. It has a nice practice range. ($2 for a bucket of 30 balls) A very good chipping & putting area. POP was 4 hrs. Grandview & its sister courses are consistently your best year round golf value in the Phoenix area.

We had a fun time on Grandview for the GK Plays. We had a really good turnout with a number of AZ GK'ers in attendance and a lot of new faces, as well. Good to see the Arizona GK crew growing each year. I was in the 9:30 group and it was a good overall pace of play around 4 hours total. As others have already noted, the course was in good overall condition. For good value courses, they sure do a great job keeping these in really nice shape throughout the summer season. Tee boxes, fairways and rough were all good and consistent. The newly remodeled bunkers had really nice new sand. The greens were firm. Rolling way too slow for my tastes, but consistently conditioned and obviously kept longer to survive the heat. This was my second time playing Grandview. It's a solid course and will give you your money's worth every time. Not a destination course in an area loaded with spectacular and dramatic layouts, but a good value pick. Always friendly people in this community and just a positive overall vibe.

For $20 you couldn’t do any better than this course. As others have said it’s not a trophy course but man is it fun and in great condition. Really nothing to complain about on the course. A fair mix of varying lengths and hole set up. Really enjoy the chance to score well even if every shot isn’t perfect.
Definitely a course to play now given the awesome conditions and great customer service.

Real fun day running and playing at Sun City West Golf Grandview Course in what originally was intended to be a casual golf get together with AZ GK’ers, transformed into a full blown GK Plays outing.

The course was in great summer shape. Lush bermunda tees, fairways and rough. Greens were lush as well, running smooth, holding shots and typical bermunda greens speed this time of year on the slow side. Sand traps were perfect being they were recently renovated. The golf course was a treat to play.

The layout is parkland style in a retirement community although no pushover. The back tees measure over 6700 yards and there is plenty of trouble you can get in if you are wild with your driver or not striking your irons well. The greens are well protected by bunkers on most holes and there is an occasional water hazard to deal with. It’s not a desert layout that will “wow” you but during season the peak rates are under $50 (good luck finding a better value). In fact everything about the price structure of the golf course is value driven to cater to fixed income golfers. Shocks you when you order food and the Gatorade you normally pay 4 or 5 bucks for at other courses is 2 bucks. Or the delicious breakfast sandwich with large OJ I got only being $5.50. Bucket of balls, just $2. All this on course with a fast pace of play and friendly staff.
