Played Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Considering the Tri-County fair was going on and holiday weekend, the course was relatively uncrowded. I walked on at about 8:15 am and was immediately sent to the tee riding as a solo single. Quite a few twosomes and threesomes out there, and one foursome with three cheerful toddlers hanging out in the golf carts, but I was able to play through three groups not counting the one that stopped at the coffee shop after nine as I drove by. Loved the easy going etiquette of the other players. Got around in a shade under 2.5 hours.

The course is a mixed bag. There is a sign at the entrance to the pro shop apologizing that they had overseeded the course. I was told it was because of burned out areas from the summer heat. The rough was not as lush as I have seen it in the past and there were some thin burned out areas in some fairways, but overall it was better than expected after seeing the sign. Very playable. The tee boxes were just okay. They seem to become more crowned each year so one has to search for a flat lie.

The greens were excellent. I was told on the first tee by a guy walking off the course that the greens were slower than they looked. I found them to be slower than normal, medium speed or faster as they dried out. They rolled really well although I left a few downhill putts short.

Great service as always from the pro shop. Friendly and professional. The coffee shop was packed as I left with late breakfast/early lunch crowd. I think the deck outside has really helped business there.

Highly recommended if in the area. Do try to use bug repellent though. While it was not as bad as I have seen it in the past, I forgot the spray and I have some mosquito bites to show for it.

The course was in nice shape. Fairway and rough were lush and in good shape. The bunkers were decent. The tees were okay with some I had to search for a level lie. The greens were the highlight. They were as fast as any greens I have played this year. One of my playing partners said they must have rolled them as they were faster than normal. They rolled great also. Really fun putting day.

Most of the water features did not have water. I played out of the one on the second hole and had a par putt (that I missed).

Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed the round. I’ll be back.

First time back in almost 6 years and this course is still awesome. I was planning on playing Sierra Star but they closed the monday before my arrival. Bishop is always a good choice for off season golf near mammoth lakes. When arriving I noticed the course was very green all around. I guess they have had a lot of thunderstorms this summer and the extra water has made this place extra nice.

Greens were by far the highlight of the course. Smooth fast and receptive just the way I like them. I found reading the green was a lot tougher but that may have been the 2+ month layoff from golf. Fairways were very nice with at least 1/2 of them in super lush shape. A few areas you could tell were getting less water at the end of the season but still had full coverage. One of the lakes on the front nine was empty but it looked like they might be working on the pump. Sand traps were adequate as well as the tee boxes.

Staff here was very friendly and generally seemed pleased to be there. The carts are starting to show their age with ripped cushions but they did have a sub plug so that is a plus. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was very busy for noon on a Friday. For $65 riding I thought the price was fair. You could save $10 by walking or wait until 1pm where they drop to 45/35. I would recommend playing while driving up US395.

Played early today as a single. Ended up backed up behind a female twosome and a foursome who were in no hurry. Seemed to take forever but actually took about 4:10. As usual, the service was top notch. The guy in the pro shop is great. I ordered food from the eighth tee and it was waiting at the turn. They have ongoing construction around the restaurant.

The course was in really nice shape. The greens were very, very nice. Quite firm so that nothing from the rough held, but they rolled beautifully. Fast but not too fast. The rough was long enough that I did not find a tee shot I did not see in flight(the perils of playing alone) and was definitely a factor in club choice. I was in two bunkers. The first needed more sand and the second was good. There were some coming out of winter spots in the fairways but generally it was a good hitting surface.

I enjoy the course and today was no exception. Worth a round if you are in the area.

Family takes an annual Thanksgiving trip up to Mammoth Lakes. This year, weather was too warm to ski/snowboard, so the golfers in the family made the trek down to Bishop CC to play.

Played Saturday, 11/27/21, teeing off at 8:30am and was pleasantly surprised! It was in the 40's at tee time but quickly warmed up and was eventually low 70's when the round ended. The Pro Shop attendant was awesome (wish I got his name) and gave us the local rate and 2 free buckets of balls. $55/person including carts and balls seemed more than fair for a holiday weekend.

The course exceeded my expectations conditions wise this late in the year. I don't think I can remember having a bad lie in the fairway, the rough was not too penal (with the exception of the fallen leaves, but the Pro Shop attendant made sure to inform us of the local rule that allowed for a free drop if your ball was lost in the leaves).

Sand was a little firm and wet, but I chalked that up to the temperature.

Greens were VERY firm to start (again, likely due to the temperature and overnight lows creeping below freezing) but rolled great. There are definitely some putts that seemed to break uphill on me, so they presented a nice challenge. Once the sun was fully out and warmed the course, well hit shots held well. In fact, my wife had her VERY FIRST birdie on 14 here. I had expected the ball to roll out a little more and had her club down, but the ball hit into the up slope and stopped pretty much on a dime. Gave her the nice satisfaction of having to fix a pitch mark before sinking her putt.

All in all, would definitely play here again on a future trip if the weather allows! Nice little hidden gem if you are travelling up 395.

Played Sunday August 8, around 7:00 am., black tees. Was able to walk up and get out immediately, paying the public rate of $65 with cart. Always pleasant and professional staff, this time was no exception. Pace of play was outstanding. I was told to join the twosome on the tee but it was obvious they had no interest in my joining them or waiting for me. They were off the tee before I had my bag strapped on the cart. I waited on almost every shot behind them but played in about 3 hours exactly. I was going to see about joining the threesome behind me but they never caught up to the extent I could talk to them.

The course is in very good shape considering the hot weather. The fairways were consistently good. The rough was long enough that I had to look a while to find my ball at times. The greens looked great and rolled well. I thought they were only medium speed and were grown out because of the weather, but as the day heated up the greens sped up. The black tees consistently had some crowning and were not easy to find a flat lie on several.

Some notes - No mosquitoes! The sand traps looked good and were pre-raked (no rakes available on course), but the sand layer was not very thick. I used more loft once I figured that out. The black tees were generally all the way back on their tee boxes and the course played relatively long from back there even with the altitude. There were some tough pin positions. The par five 10th was back left on a slope that bent more than it looked to me. Both one of the players in the group in front and I missed five foot birdie putts at it.

Highly recommended.

Pace of play was quick, the course was in great shape and the personnel are super helpful and friendly. Well worth the money!

Sand traps are dried out and hard. Snack bar and restaurant are open with outside seating only. They do have a fleet of new carts with coolers on them. Course can play long in the afternoon when the wind usually picks up

Played on May 27, Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Great service. They were busy but the starter came and got me to get me out as a single before several 5s and 4s started. Worked because I played the front in about 1:10. I hit groups on the back but still ended in about 3:00.

The course is in pretty good shape. The rough is down right now. Still a factor but not as long as I have seen it. There were some drier spots in the fairways but that is relative. Still much better than SoCal. I was in one sand trap and it played great. The tee boxes were not necessarily level but I was always able to find a flat area. The tee boxes had been punched so they were very soft for the tee.

I was worried about the greens because the practice green showed signs of aeration almost healed and was a little shaggy. The greens on the course were better. Some showed faint signs of aeration but I did not see it affect putts. They looked like they had been rolled and were medium speed.

I like the course. The big issue I had was distance control; the ball seemed to carry even more than usual. I was clubbing down two clubs at one point and still hitting over the greens on the par 3s. I have in past found some help from the altitude but not this much.

The coffee shop was rocking from the Mules Days crowd. Absolutely packed so I did not try any food. There were quite a few golfers out on the course too. It is well worth the visit if you are in the area.
