played 9/5. greens are in great shape right now for callippe - good roll, running pretty fast but not too fast (amount of break on the greens starts to get ridonkulous if they are too slick). get it while it's hot!

played 9/7. they had "needle" aerated (~1/8" holes) on tuesday, so greens were not in great shape relative to usual at wente. rolled pretty fast (1 green was 10 on the stimp at 7am, saw the greenskeeper measure it) but bumpy and sandy. I'd give it another a week or two to heal up completely.

i realize i was also the most recent review from a few months ago, but worth the encore, and well worth the rates one can get on golfnow. beautiful course, great shot values, though I will add #16 to the 'fail' list (crossing ravine @ 100yds out that you can't see from the tee. leave driver in the bag. grrr...) conditions were superb - greens were immaculate, very firm and rolling great despite the very wet weather we have had in the last few weeks. they have started punching the teeboxes, which is a modest nuisance at best. wind was down the day I played, which helped enjoyment factor.

played 2/24. howling wind (i'd guess 20+ mph), which made things interesting. disappointed by the greens, shaggy, slow and often bumpy compared to usual. visited a number of bunkers unfortunately, but they were consistent (nice, fine sand). pace was ok. solid value even for an out of towner, $45 walking on friday.

played 1/26, so it has been a few weeks. but took advantage of the winter special ($55 w cart Mon-Thu; I have yet to see a golfnow time for $39!!)
I haven't been here in a while, so it was a good refresher. Quality course, only one hole that is sort of kloogy (#6, short par 4 with elevated tee, approach is straight up a hill), #13 is also an odd one. The closing 2 holes are a beast! Looong from the gold tees, par in would be a great score (didn't come close).
Conditions were great, greens are firm and true, fairways in good shape, rough was cut down, and wind wasn't too bad to boot.

played 2/3, based on hsiebert's review. course was in pretty good shape, as far as the greens i guess the day of rain earlier that week had softened/slowed the greens somewhat as they were rolling fine but not speedy. tall rough is cut down so course is pretty forgiving off the tee. i gotta second the bunker comment though, they are consistently awful at this point. in one case (after i caught it thin and flew the green from greenside bunker), I looked down and saw the gravel base in the bunker, ie NO sand to speak of. boo...
hate to say it but there is better value for the $ around the bay area right now.

played old course black friday 11/25/11. worried when i saw the small practice green had been aerated recently, but relieved to find that the greens were not. greens were VERY soft and receptive, presumably due to rain earlier in the week, it was also cart path only that day. Fixing pitchmarks was like pushing mashed potatoes around. Yeesh. As a result greens were slower than usual, and a little bumpy to boot. Conditions otherwise very good, no drainage issues in fairways etc. Decent value via e-club, a nice layout with good shot variety but a bit on the pricey side relative to other options around the bay.

played weekend of 9/10. early time on lake/mountain, got around quickly as a 3 some (under 4 hrs). course is playing great - greens are rolling true, decently fast but still pretty receptive. noticing crowning on the tees (back tees this time) which is a minor annoyance. great value as always via golfnow, and not having to play canyon 9 is a bonus!

played 8/12. great pace for harding, for some reason no groups ahead of us off the tee (0730 start). course is in ok shape, though greens are still healing in. no real evidence of punch marks but still very sandy and slow. as usual, I'm impressed by the back 9, really great holes. too bad conditioning is a B at best most times. Not the greatest value ($100 walking for norcal resident).

played weekend of 7/30. ~7am time, wind was up which made it interesting. played as 4some, pace was ok, waited on most holes until 15, but finished in ~4.5 hrs. course in solid shape, enjoyed it as usual. rough is low, pretty easy. greens are receptive, rolling true if a little slow. one bunker i was in (8 greenside) sand was wet and heavy. saw drink cart once on 14, but that's not a big deal for me. great value even for a non resident, just have to grin and bear the not so great holes (imo 11, 18)

played weekend of 5/28, chard/zin. course is in fine shape, greens are rolling well. got stuck behind several slow groups, so much so that the two guys I paired up with ended up bailing (one at hole 9, other at 12). that always takes some of the enjoyment out of it. but solid value as usual.

played weekend of 6/4/11, lake/canyon. early time, got around pretty quickly. course is in great shape as usual. guy in the shop said they didn't punch this spring because of the rain, the greens are firm (but manageable), didn't leave much in the way of pitchmarks. not as fast as they can be during the summer, but rolling great. some of the teeboxes are getting crowned, minor annoyance. always a great golf experience here!
