First and foremost...don't ever play here on the weekends. We played yesterday in a team play event, but had to follow a large tournament. Our tee time was 8:24 but didn't start until 9:10 and finished at 3:10. Six grueling hours in 100 degree weather without one marshal on the course to keep the pace going. Our 10:00 tee time didn't start until 11:25...inexcusable. Obviously the G.M. doesn't care about the quality of the golfers experience, only just packing as many sardines into the can as he can. And on a Sunday, just one poor guy in the pro shop checking everyone in...long line. Now to the course...decent conditions for the boxes and greens. The fairways were over saturated with water making muddy areas in the middle of fairways. The bunkers were just plain mud...every one wetter than the fairways. I love the layout of this course, but won't be back again on a weekend.

Played here on 4-10. Started thirty minutes late, but I guess not bad for a Saturday. Front nine took 2 1/2 hours, but back nine was 3 1/2 hours....why does it take 6 hours to play this place? I realize this is a muni course, but I remember it always being in better shape than it is now. Fairways have tons of big weed/crabgrass mounds all over the place. With all the play LV gets, one would think the revenue stream would allow for a better maintainence budget. Whenever I play here, I come knowing that I will be a minority at this course...so why do the majority of who plays here have to play six hour rounds? But I guess that is a rhetorical question.

For years, this course has always been in excellent condition....but not any longer! It is quickly becoming a cow pasture. The greens used to be pristine, now they look like crap.....yesterday guys were saying it was like they had to putt through a sand trap on some greens, others look like a war zone. Fairways are thin with many bare spots. While they are remodeling some traps on the course (working very slowly), the rest has deteriated over the past two months. I have played here every Wednesday for the past twenty weeks....I'm done and not coming back. Don't waste your money here.

I held a thirty player tournament here on Aug. 1st and had a great time. Terry the G.M., has done well with putting together a great staff. Everyone was friendly and professional, from the clubhouse(Matt) to the marshals. The course had some spots throughout that were had some problems, but at least it was obvious that they were working on those areas. The greens were smooth and had a good roll to them. This course has a lot more personality then what you see from the freeway. Now, if the owner would only step up and build a driving range on that large empty piece of land next to the course.....and maybe a real clubhouse. All in all,we had a fun dayand we will be back again.

We held our yearly tournament yesterday(10-25), and once again we had a great time. The staff made a easy check-in for our group, got us out on time and made us feel appreciated. There is not a better maintained public golf course in So. California. Fairways perfect, rough thick but fluffy and the greens were fast and smooth. Our thanks to Ben and his entire staff....great job!!

We teed off today at 11am and were done by 2:15pm.....great pace after we passed a group on the fourth hole. The course has definately survived the summer heat and is in pretty good shape. The greens were great....fast and smooth.
Now the downside, not one water station on the entire course had water buckets in them. Considering the temperature today was 100....inexcusable. They had quite a few workers throughout the course keeping things looking good. But these guys must think they work in a park, not a golf couse. There were countless times we would be addressing our shots or putts and they would dive by just 15-20 feet away. One guy actually laughed at me when I gave him a look. I know at Sierra Lakes, the maitanance people get the game of golf and will stop when they see someone is near.

I held a tournament here on Feb. 23 with great results. First the good: The course has really come back into shape from a year ago, but greens were still a bit slow. Scott, the head pro and Charley at the front desk were great to work with to make a successful event. As my group tavels around quite a bit, I have found Scott to be the best.
Now the bad: Trilogy has just been bought from Shea Homes, and the cutbacks by the new owner are very obvious. The staff has been decimated....one cart person, no starter at the first tee and no marshals to monitor play. Also the restaurant staff, while very nice, seemed under staffed for a Saturday. The only visable right thing this new owner has done is to keep Scott in charge, but if that changes. this course will spiral downwards quickly.

As I have mentioned before, I live on the course but do not work here. I held my annual tournament here on 10/27 with a 8am shotgun for 80 players. It couldn't have been any better. SL tournament director Josh was there in the dark getting everything ready, so our event would be smooth and easy. The course is in great shape....good job Hector. Even with the public going ahead of us, it was a 4.5 hour round. Afterwards, banquet manager Guillermo provided great food and drinks to all. It's no wonder that so many groups bring their events here, this entire staff is commited to providing great service.

Cheeseburger..I feel your pain. I live on the course, played on Tuesday and teed off at 3pm. It was 5:45 when I finished #9 and decided to quit. The course is in great shape except for all the un-repaired ball marks on the greens. I have to agree about the people who should be playing at the pitch and putts being out here, but what is worse to me....charging what they do and allowing t-shirts and even tank tops. Even El Rancho Verde requires a collared shirt.

I played on 7/19, but I hadn't been back here since hosting a tournament in Febuary. Still great service by all involved. Tees and fairways were in pretty good shape. But the one thing that is still the same as in Febuary....the greens are terrible. Slow, very fuzzy and very eratic rolls on every green on the course. I can't understand how the superintendant has kept his job. He has let a wonderful course become a frustrating experience. Without the discount e-mail coupons....I wouldn't waste the money on full rates.

I ran a small tournament here on 2-24 and had some mixed feelings on the day. First, the staff was exceptional as always....Scott the GM has done a great job in providing first rate service. Next the course, I found it to be in pretty good shape, although there were some thin spots in some fairways. The greens, only one word can describe them....TERRIBLE!! I understand that we have had some bad weather this year that has affected the conditions of golf courses...but it seems their superintendent has failed in maintaing these greens. Fuzzy, bumpy and very inconsistent rolls on every hole. For a "who cares day of golf"...they would still be bad, but for tournament golf, it was miserable. I wish I would have checked with GK before I booked ours...lesson learned.
