Reality is somewhere between Walter and the ones who believe he is an employee. I live on the course, but do not work for them. I always believe the overall condition of this course is always very good, with the exception of the greens. It appears they do NOTHING to help these problems. Too many tournament players don't fix their ballmarks because they are here for just one day, and this course survives on tournaments and the profits from the Men's Club fees(700-800 members). I agree with Hate3putts that if they had their Marshals helping out by fixing ballmarks on their rounds, the greens would be in better condtion. For the most part, they have a great staff who really do try to please the playing public, it's just that they sometimes have their hands tied.

I played on 7-5 and had mixed reactions. I was here on opening day and continued to play here quite often for the first few years. Then they started having alot of drainage problems, leaving many bare fairway lies and other problems. For what they charged...it wasn't worth half the price. Skip to now...the fairways have improved, although the back side still had some bad areas. I did remember two major problems with playing here, very few yardage markers and no snack bar on the course. Since you never come back to the clubhouse at the turn, you better have plenty to eat and drink to take along. It was 102 degrees on Wed. and over half of the holes were cart path only, a bad combination!! Also, how about marking the cart paths with the 200,150 and 100 yard markers so you can judge what club you have to take with you. All in all, there are better courses for the value.

I hosted a tournament here on 10-16, the day they removed the cart path restrictions, great timing!! After the six weeks of cart path only, the overseeding and punching the greens, Sierra Lakes has once again returned to it's pristine condition. Living on the course I may be a little biased, but this staff runs the best operation around. Hector, the superintendent, deserves high marks for maintaing a lush environment. It's no wonder this course is host to a large number of tournaments, with Drew and Jeremy making everything smooth and easy for a tournament director. We had 50 players ranging from scratch to thirty handicappers...all had a great day.

I already knew that this wasn't a good place to hold a tournament...but it now appears to be a bad place to crash a stolen car into the clubhouse....especially when the police are holding a tournament.

Played on Thursday, Aug. 19th at 3:20 pm and was done by 7pm...that's how golf should be. The more I play Trilogy, the more I love it. I live on Sierra Lakes, but the short drive is always rewarded by the beauty of this course. Although right now they are having problems with a few fairways and greens. They had a malfunction with their sprinkler system lately and almost lost a couple of greens. They are currently using a temporary green on #11, probably for another week or so I was told. A couple of the fairways need some help, but nothing to serious.

I just ran a tournament here on Sat. 7-17. What a beautiful course and surroundings to spend a day.
On the golf side, plenty of people to take care of you from the moment you arrive, with very friendly attitudes. They tried to help in all ways to make sure our event was a success...which it was. Nice restaraunt and bar....but service was quite slow in the morning, so allow some extra time for breakfast.
The course itself was full of personality, beutiful scenes and challenging situations. Loved the layout!!
We had players with single digit indexes to 30 somethings....all had a great experience. The back nine is definately a harder play when the winds are blowing. Greens putt very true, but getting approach shots to stick was not easy....best to land short and let it run up to the pin.
I had read about there being no ball washers....get over it and bring a towel. I did have two complaints...it seemed that every trap resembled the La Brea Tar Pits, it should be sand not mud. Second, what happened to cart girls knowing when to drive up to you and when to wait. Beautiful and very friendly, but too many times they would drive right up to someone addressig the ball or even swinging. The course really does need a snack bar out at the turn, since you don't return near the clubhouse until the 17th hole.
All in all, go play this course, and soon. This will be a popular track in th O.C. until the Donovan Brothers over price it like they have the other courses they manage.

I don't know what cspan is talking about. Since this course opened a little more than four years ago, it is still the best maintained course for the $ in the LA, OC, and Inland Empire. I played on June 11th, the fairways were perfect, not soggy. While the greens have been less than great for the past couple of months, they are starting to come back. People just need to FIX their ballmarks!! I played a course in Las Vegas that had Pine trees, didn't make it wierd.

Played there last week on a Donavan Daily coupon...which was great. Spectacular views, great personality and in wonderful shape. The greens are quite a bit slower than they appear, but still were alot of fun. Will definately go back again!!!

I just read the last three reports about their tournament being great...good thing there wasn't a wedding scheduled for that day....otherwise they would have been treated like the red headed step-child. Sounds like they had fun....WE DID NOT!!
