Decided to play in spite of poor last comments about course due to the $32.50 Saturday rate I found. Definitely a disappointment due to thin, hard packed fairways and greens. Rough was non-existent and appeared to be almost the same as the fairway. If you like to hit off of hardpan then this course is for you.... if you like your ball to sit up when you are in the fairway then steer clear of this course. The sand (lots of traps everywhere), tee boxes and time to complete the round were nice but they paled to the poor fairways and greens. It was cold and windy but I knew that when I signed up for the tee time. Even at the discounted rate I would stay away from this course unless you can hit off of hard packed fairways and greens that don't hold your approach shots. Good Luck!

Course conditions have improved so get out there before they aerate the greens. Very well groomed fairways and course plays much shorter than the yardage markers due to downhill slopes toward greens as well as the most of the holes play downwind. There appears to be some sand on a few of the greens but they are deceivingly fast. Played Friday morning at 8am before a tourney and finished in 4 hours 15 mins. If you can't hit the ball straight then bring extra balls as the fairways are rather narrow and surrounded by "environmentally sensitive" areas throughout entire course.

They have raised their prices & now charge $55 for weekdays. Course is in similar shape as last time although there were less overwatered areas. Sand traps generally had puddles in them or were hardpacked and unplayable. It almost seems like the sandtraps are being used to drain the water??? Finished in 4.5 hours due to jerk in front of us who looked for balls on every hole. Marshall came by on the 16th hole and told us to speed up but we were being delayed by the fool in front of us. Now that the rates are higher I may go elsewhere.

Greens were aerated 1 week ago and should be better in another week. They were very bumpy but still held approach shots exceptionally well. Round took well over 5 hours on Sat. afternoon and backed up on many holes... yawn. Otherwise, course is in same shape as last time and all tee boxes have recovered from overseeding 2 weeks ago.

Similar conditions to last time except all tee boxes are being reseeded and allow to play only from women's tees???? Course plays even shorter as a result. Marshall helped to keep things going on this Friday so we could finish in 4 hours. Aside from the tee boxes course is in superb condition --especially for the $28 (w/cart) green fees. A must play for the $$$.

For starters, we were supposed to tee off at 12:20 and we were able to tee off 45 minutes early thanks to the starter (and asking if we could tee off earlier). We teed off as a 2some and were able to finish in just over 5 hours but we skipped the group ahead of us at the turn.

For the first time playing this course, I was impressed with the conditions and the varying hole designs/layout. If I had to say what the worst part was about the course that would have to be a couple of the fairways were patchy or muddy but nothing that really inhibited play. The greens were VERY receptive and held my approach shots well. They also rolled very true. There are many hills and undulations/tight fairways but the course was designed that if you hit a decent drive you will be rewarded with a fairly flat lie. I had no problem with the condition of the sand and the tee boxes were normal for a muni type of course (at least none of them were uneven.

I will definitely play this course again due to the price and overall conditions/layout. I was able to shoot in the mid 80's for my first time out (13 handicapper).

Huh, course is in much better shape than the last 2 guys allude to although I feel sorry for the guy who teed off early in the am w/o flags/poop on the greens? Anywho, played yesterday at 9:20 (Sat.) and yes, there are a few unleveled tee boxes and the par 5 tee box on the back 9 is the worst but other than that, they are pretty decent. The worst part about the course was the condition of the sand (if you could call it that???). This course has GREAT conditioned/soft greens with very few ball marks. The greens rolled very true as well. Decent fairways to hit out of and definitely tight fairways as well. This course is NOT as bad as the last 2 guys said and definitely works in a pinch (just stay out of the sand).

This was my 2nd time out to this course in a tourney and I figured I'd score better due to course knowledge but that went by the wayside after the first 9 holes. Course was in impecabble condition throughout although the fairways were a tad thin to my liking although they were very green. It felt better to be hitting out of the rough as it let your ball sit up more (suits my game better). Beautiful scenery throughout the course and deers to boot as well although there was quite a foul smell almost the entire round of rotten eggs or something blowing in off the ocean. It was rather cold as well and windy yesterday which also added to the overall challenge.

Course is challenging on most holes as there are narrow fairways that are surrounded by environmentally protected areas. Great sand and well protected, ultra fast, very undulated greens that did hold pretty well on approach shots. Make sure you club up 1 on your shots as the thick air tends to lessen the distance on your shots.

Overall, a must play course that will definitely humble you. I didn't have to pay for this round but those who can afford it should play it for the overall "feeling" that you get from the Clubhouse til the 18th hole. The Pebble Bch car show was also rather nice with plenty of Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Aston Martins etc... rolling around the 17 mile drive.

Well, I should have known after reading all the comments but I had to see for myself. I also wanted to check out the views & layout of this course but, aside from the beautiful views the course has MUCH to be desired and they should be ashamed to charge the green fees that they do during normal rates. I paid $40 for a sweltering hot (100+ degrees) twilight rate and I found the following conditions. First off, there are numerous ball marks that people don't fix on greens that were rather firm and dry due to the heat. We also found some missing turf on a few greens as well. If you look at the fairways they appear rather burnt out due to the heat but there are also quite a few mushy/overwatered areas in the fairways which allow your ball to plug and stop rolling rather quickly. The sand quality was like hitting off of concrete and you could not blast out of them so you had to clip the ball out. The best part of the conditions is the tee boxes are near perfection.

As far as the layout goes... the course offers many blind shots to quite a few elevated greens combined with narrow fairways and some forced carries over canyons. Definitely challenging but it also does not require you to bust out your driver on many holes due to the short length on the majority of the holes.

This course needs an overall makeover and the groundskeepers need to get busy... It may be too much to ask for though but at the rates they charge you'd think they could afford to get things back in more playable shape??

Played yesterday in 4 hours basically going at our own pace. Course was rather empty... The course scores high marks in almost all categories except the sand was very poor. Not sure if it was due to a dumping of rain or overwatering but it was hard on every hole that I looked at (or was in...). Other than that, the 9th fairway has some bare spots and it appears they are trying to fix it as it was rather wet. I found myself admiring the quality of the grass in the fairways many times... it's the kind you get a nice fluffy lie off of and you can make a really good connection w/the ball cuz your not hitting off of clay like the low end courses that are out there. Amazingly receptive greens that hold exceptionally. If you can drop your ball on the green on your approach shots it generally won't roll more than 1 - 2 feet. DO NOT let the practice putting green fool you as it was MUCH faster than the greens on the course although the greens do roll very true. Also, due to a tail wind on the last couple of holes the par 3 16th hole played about 4 clubs less than normal and it really shortened up hole #17 and 18. I was quite worried that the heat would be unbearable but it was rather comfortable and the winds help keep you cool.
Still love the views and the course IS scorable if you can keep it in the fairways. Bring a few extra sleeves if you are a hacker as the fairways are ultra narrooooooooow.

Course is in surprisingly great condition. Very receptive & fast greens and overall in tip top shape for a muni course. Played in 5.5 hours though which was the only drawback but we teed of at 11:30 on a Saturday. They also encourage 5somes. Layout is challenging due to the length and impending head winds that make the course even longer. Fairways have generous landing areas.

Played on Sat. 6/25 and greens had been aerated recently. Completed round in 4 hours going at our own pace while teeing off at 7am. Fairways have many bare spots and there are some bad tee boxes but overall conditions and layout is enjoyable. The course is rather narrow and makes you think prior to your tee shots. Marshall was on us to keep a move on but we had skipped the group in front of us at the turn so we weren't the ones who caused the slow down. We were never pushed by the group behind us even though they were a 3some after we had skipped ahead of them. Sand was wet on almost every hole as it appeared it had been saturated with water which made it unplayable. The rough also is very unforgiving as it is rather long. The greens were ok in spite of the recent aeration. I would play again in a pinch.
