it was a perfect day to start the 4th of July weekend. we teed off on Canyon Crest and Ridgeline. Moorpark CC has proven once again, you get what you paid for. conditions were superb. start off, customer service was great and so was the starter, Gary

tee boxes were leveled and fairways were well kept and green. 1st & 2nd cut were manicured as it should be. aprons pretty blended in with green areas that you could putt from if you so choose. greens were in perfect shape. speed were med/fast with a few holes a bit faster than others due to the fact that wind picked up a bit and they were getting dried. even though our scores did not reflect on these playable courses, we definitely enjoy it. to cap the day off with a few cold ones and enjoyed Moorpark's annual fireworks show, day before the 4th. will come back for sure

PLEASE PLEASE RAKE THE TRAPS after your shot. two times, my ball rest in someone's footprint!!!

Home of "Big Break Indian Wells"...this course truly beautiful and challenging. it was well worth the 4-hr drive, roundtrip.

conditions were nearly perfect considering the heat in palm springs area. customer service was top notch! state of the art GPS system, which was a bonus. tee boxes were level throughout. fairways were green and lush. can't remember if there was a bad spot. it was also undulating adding the uniqueness of this track. and of course, the views were very pleasant. roughs were 1-3" and not too much difficulty to get out from. traps were in good shape. aprons were nicely kept. greens were dried but can't blame the course for that. at least, they were green as green can be. pace was about medium, smooth and rolled very well. some of holes really test your skills as they are very challenging. no guts, no glory!!! it was humid and a slight breeze which really helped with the heat. beverage cart came by about 5 times, making sure we are well hydrated. most definitely will return some time in Sept and play Celebrity course

decided to give this course another try. well the front 9 were snail pace once again. don't know what it is and why the pace is so slow on the front. it's not difficult as the back 9. conditions were about the same as the first visit. some yellow patches here and there but it's the not course fault as California is in a drought stage. fairways were good and the rough is about 1-3", thick and it will "swallow" your ball (lost ball) and of course you really have to strike the ball to get out off. adding a bit more challenge to your game. tee boxes were leveled with exception of only a few there weren't. greens were soft, spongy, and slow. if i have to guess, it was about no more than 9.5 on the stim. after the turn, the pace picked up just like previous outing. however, i can't say enuf on the conditions of the green on the back 9. they were soft, spongy, lumpy and bumpy. it will make your ball verve off line even for a straight putt. i do understand our tee time was in the twilight hour and much foot traffic had gone thru but back 9 greens were in bad shape. i figured front 9 greens would be worst since most golfers play 9 holes during the twilight hour and mostly on the front 9. these were like "a tale of two cities", not the same up keep and conditions

not sure we are going to come back here again

it was a beautiful day on Friday the 13th for golf outing with great friends. the conditions of this track was perfect from start to finish. Tee Boxes were lush & leveled. fairways was mowed just like carpet and your tee shot will benefit from it. roughs were usual 1-3", thick and sticky. it will punish you so don't get in there. aprons were nicely kept as well. greens were smooth and rolled very well. it was medium to fast pace. the only inconsistency were the traps. maybe due to hot weather, wind and sprinklers made them some fluffy and some hard packed. the wind picked later in the day so it added some challenges to an already hard game. overall, we enjoyed it alot and it was a great time. definitely coming back here soon

apologize for the fact that this review is very much like Legends as we played both courses on the same day. the conditions were about the same in my opinion

it was a beautiful and slight breeze in late afternoon. couldn't have asked for more of a perfect weather. we walked the course and surprisingly, finished in 4 hours. this course has been known for slow play on weekends due to tons of walkers because of the easiness of course layout. tee boxes were level and with few divots. fairways well maintained and couldn't remember any bare spots. roughs were about 1-1.5in. traps were good but still, we all got to do our parts and rake them please. aprons were nicely kept. greens were medium pace and a bit soft and spongy. however, roll was true and kept the line. it was a perfect afternoon to end the weekend. We all enjoyed it and especially when one of my golf mates shot a blistering 77 and one of our female friend EAGLE on hole# 6

it was amazing to witness both...

when i checked-in, starter told me it was 20-30 mins delay due to so-called Holiday golfers. in other words, bunch of hackers. and he was right, we were behind a 5-some with guys hitting 10-15yds each shot. horrible front nine pace. luckily, they left on the turn. the overall conditions was just decent. first time here and will be the last time i golf here. LA county muni courses are just not my cup of tea. greens were bumpy and slow. for the price this course charges, it's totally not worth it

not to mention, we also got hit twice becuz the group from opposite did not know the meaning of "FORE" OR ANY MANNER

ONE of our FAV track in the PS area. weather was hot but nothing we can't bare. beautiful conditions from tee to green. POP was great considering on weekend, under 4.5/hr

tee boxes were lush and level. fairways were mowed and kept just like carpet. your tee shot will benefit from it. rough area were well kept (1-3in/avg). aprons were very nice as well. greens ran medium pace & held well in my opinion even though it was dry. traps were okay hearing from my golf mates. MOST definitely will return for future play

first time and i loved it. very challenging and difficult and i wouldn't have it any other way. conditions were great even though California is in water shortage stage. tee boxes were nicely leveled. fairways were dry but still GREEN. Traps were good. Greens were med/fast and some were firm due to being latter part of the day. otherwise, this is a MUST play course if you're up to the challenge

Will definitely return in the near future

Despite the distance, this course had always been one of our fav track. customer service is always great. tee boxes were level with exception of a few holes but nothing too severely unlevel. fairways were lush and green and not just those holes with view from freeway or streets. roughs were your normal 1-3in. traps were not fluffy but very playable from it. greens were punched on April 28-29 and recovered nicely. a few bumps here and there but didn't affect the roll or the line. overall, worth the drive from san gabriel valley and will return for future play

Tee Time: 08:07 & 14:05 on Sat, April 18

it was a gorgeous day and the weather couldn't have been any better. we played this track a few times and from what i remembered, the fairways are mostly hard-pan and thin. making it a bit more difficult to get under the ball since your club will bounce on point of impact. due this yr's dry weather conditions, it certainly didn't help either. although there are quite a few dirt patches on the fairways, the course is doing its best to keep the condition playable. the traps were a bit thin as well becuz you can see the "blue" underneath after you struck the ball. however, there are some decent traps as well. the greens in my opinion were in good conditions and firm. it was medium speed. by the way, the cart girl came around quite a few times as well

Tips:
since the fairways are firm, i would suggest leaving it a bit short so the ball will bounce and roll onto the greens. trying to stick it on the green will only make the ball roll a lot more than what you will want

Overall, we enjoyed it

first off, the staff and the starter were very well mannered.

the course itself was beautiful. Tee boxes were lush and level, all 18 of them. the fairways were flush, lush, green and medium to firm on some of them. if your tee shot finds the short grass, it will run. the 1st cut and the rough area are very well kept. majority of the traps are consistent with exception of 2 holes from what i remembered. the greens were in excellent shape. rolled true and smooth even though i know they were recently punched but filled in very nicely. i had 11 ONE putts, most ever!! POP was great, just a little over 4 hours on Sat. this course is worth every penny. Most definitely will return soon
