Played yesterday. Eagled the first hole! Par, then Drove the green on 3, missed the second eagle, got the bird! Oh by the way there was 20-40 mile an hour winds! LOL ;) Other than that, the course was in perfect shape! Greens were firm and held our initial approach shots, especially into the wind, but would roll some distance away which you really had to take into account. But if you check your weather reports, and get here with lighter breeze, this place is in really great shape. Tee boxes were perfect, fairways tight with some dormancy but fair, and the rough was fine. Of course I'm not going to talk about the 8 I took on 13! (going into the wind!) Still Just on the verge of not playable as on the turn we saw the flag on 18 laying on the green!

Played on a very busy twilight Tuesday. $39.00 Got a free cart (I usually walk this course) but the cart was free for your Birthday Month. $29 bucks. Also got a free bucket of balls by texting a promo code from the Olivas web site! If you don't have a range finder be sure to pick up the small laminated range yardage card at the pro shop as the range has been redone and has some target greens out there! Very nice! So the pace was very slow as I believe they had a "men's group"? playing ahead of us. Three groups waiting on most par threes. So if you go on Tues, expect a slow pace. That being said and having the whole day off, I was in the right frame of mind for the day. The course is in very good condition right now. I'm not ever sure how to score the course in the detailed review area as the Fairways are thin and not lush because it is a Link's style course like Rustic and the fairways are always on thin grass? The greens were just a delight to hit approach shots anywhere from inside 100yds, all the way to 190. They were holding shots, not much spin but held very well. They were not soft by any means, just perfect and with the coming rain this week, should remain in excellent shape for the rest of winter. They were working on the course in certain areas, please read the previous reviews. I was only in one greenside bunker on 17, and the sand was perfect! I live in the Westside of LA and it is a Drive to get too but well worth it! Highly recommended! Go Play ;)

Needed to get out of the house today so Woodley is always a good bet. Got out right away. I love to play this course when all you want to do is hit the ball without thinking to much! Not a super challenging course but good to air out a new Driver, or practice your approaches, as the greens are very large. POP was dismal but hey, it's Saturday. Greens are getting really good here as usual. Practice greens in the back of the starter office were perfect. Greens on the course were getting there. Most were smooth and fairly fast. Fairways were pretty dry and had some good roll out. :) Tee boxes are in decent shape and so was the rough. Some leaves on the sides of some of the fairways and a little dry but over all playable. I like the wide open feeling here and if you don't mind the POP it is very relaxing. Not bad! ;)

I play here once a year! I get the groupgolfer coupon for two days of unlimited golf and one night stay for two. Temecula has three nines, Creek, (fairly easy and flat) Oaks, (more interesting and challenging, hole 4 comes to mind!) and Stone house. Which is the hardest because of the elevation changes and carries. Very beautiful. Perfect for you and a golf buddy! You drive up early, T times start at 11:00 but I got a 10:30 and 10:00 the next day. Usually your room is ready although they say check in is at 4:00 pm. Drop your stuff off and go play! So close to Old Towne Temecula, go have a Steak at the Gambling Cowboy or head to Pechanga for a night of Luck? I usually ad an extra nights stay so you don't feel rushed but it's your call. Great for a romantic get away! Very peaceful. You can hear the 15 freeway but you really have to listen for it. The course is now done! Everything is in great condition except the consistency of the bunkers. Some are white fluffy sand and others seam to be just Dirt. :( But that's it. Some slow play...but take in the beauty and it's not so bad. Highly recommended. ;) Go play!

Got a 10 am tee time from Golf now. Done by 2:10! The greens are still healing. Rolling much faster than the practice greens! Still a little bumpy and some signs of the punching. The big news right now is the fairways. They have been Punched? Well sort of small rake marks on a lot of them. Enough to slow the roll of your drives! Tee boxes on the front 9 were aerated and have temps on some holes. Still it was a good day and I hade 8 one putts from all different places on the greens so they were not that bad. Still needs a few more weeks to really be good! FYI... ;)

The second course for the Boys weekend! The last time I played here was with GK outing after the Classic Club Event a few years ago. I did remember all of the Sand Traps! Must be over a hundred! The rakes no longer reside in the ground so you have a pretty good chance of staying out of them because there are so many rakes laying around them! ;) Just kidding, you cant see any of the rakes but you can see the bunkers everywhere! What a beautiful course! Greens were a little bumpy from walking, but were rolling true. Still very slow this time of year so be firm. Played from the Blues most of my guys could not reach in two. I never hit P-7 except on a couple of the par 3's which were so cool! Hole 6 and 17 were two of my favorite holes! The course is tough but fun! Very playable right now, just the greens were a little slow. ;)

The first of a two day "boys" weekend! Not many courses out in the desert that are ready to go as most have reseeded and aerated. The "player" as in Gary, was in great shape. Over all everything was perfect. The greens are rolling medium to slow because of this time of year. You really had to attack the holes and puts broke less than expected, so hit them firm.
I found the greens holding shots very well. The fairways were in great shape and the rough was not as long as it was in summer but balls still would nestle down in it. A very soft and at times light grass which would produce your usual flyer, so adjust accordingly. Very fun!
Go. Play! ;)

WOW! Played today with my Brother and this course is in super condition! Fairways are so green! Greens are in great shape, they are back! Big and Bad! They will be a bit slower through the Fall and Winter because they will probably only roll them on occasion and mow occasionally because the winter is coming with the early frost. In the am they are soft and moist. I saw a lot of foot prints (indentations) all over the green which were not from that day! We had a 8:30 tee time and you play 2 and 3 into the rising sun but other than that, c'mon! Those that got the group golfer deal for 32 or 36 bucks got a great deal! $56 is the rack rate with cart. There are afternoon winds as always and that's when this course gets tough! Today was pretty calm and they are taking very good care of the course. FYI a lot of koi fish were dead and floating on hole 8? Maybe the recent reseeding and fertilizing got into the water? If you do get up to Palmdale, This is a must! GO PLAY!!

Well Kaybee, obviously you didn't read the reviews of this place before you went. Glassjaw, Sngernz, Silverstrand, and mdames have all said the same thing since August! I played there this morning as well and I have to agree with all of you on most of the conditions. I knew what to expect and would have been very disappointed had I paid full price $53.00 I talked with the Manager about offering a discounted price while the course recovers from major maintenance and She would consider it. The fairways are in major repair, although I was able to play from them. A lot of them had roped off areas. The rough was at times just wild and uncut. I had a very difficult time finding a level area on T boxes, especially 12, I mean it was just a pitcher's mound. I played from the Whites today because my company is having an event there at the end of the month so I can't say for the other Tee areas but I'm sure they were not that different. The two bunkers I was in were in perfect condition! The greens are the only thing going here right now. Great shape. I hope the rest of the course catches up soon. This is a fun and challenging course but not for top dollar, no way. Unless you get a discounted rate of a deal somewhere, I would wait. At least Olivas is offering Twilight all week as they are dressing their greens. Go Play! (somewhere else for now) I let you know at the end of the Month after our event if things are improved! PS. The staff was very nice and courteous to me ;)

Got the Tues all day twilight rate and the Men's Club plays early. fyi. My tee time was 10:36 which worked out fine as it was very foggy early. This is in the best shape I have ever played this course. It was a pretty slow day as a lot of players took advantage of the rate. Front nine was "gettable" as there was little to know breeze but come the afternoon ,the back nine with the ocean breeze plays a major role in club selection! 12,13,14 plays directly into the sea breeze, which to my experience is always a little heavier than a inland breeze because I believe it has to do with the salinity in the air, you can smell, and feel the "stickiness" so I was taking 1.5 to 2 clubs more. Shot a 73 and used Game Golf for the first time to track my round. I will be reviewing this product here as well. Just so worth it now, I live in Santa Monica so there is a drive involved, especially on the way back but the course is worth it. Might be aerating next month? GO USA!!!! GO PLAY!!

I get up here (Palmdale) once in a while and drag my Dad away from "Desert Aire" 9 hole. We had a 6:45 tee time and it was crowded! Lucky no wind today! We played as a twosome and had to wait a lot for a foursome who just had to play from the Blue tees even though the could not reach any of the landing areas? Why??? Move up and have some fun people. These guys did not have a good day! Dad shot 80 (he's 76!) We played the Whites and I got away with a smooth 75! So much fun! Tee boxes were perfect and the fairways were very, very nice! Just enough grass to get a club on the ball! Get the yardage book and shoot for the 150 markers! Greens were firm enough to roll true, ( I left a few Birdies ) but held 140 and in shots perfectly. Very little roll out! ATTACK it!! If you have to play the Blue tee's please be a least a 15 hdc. ? They were working on the 17th greenside bunker which was out of play as the pin was tucked way back right side away from the work! smart! It's a little out of the way but recommended. ;) go play!

WOW!! Sorry it's been so long for a review from me! Been without a laptop for too long! I just think that Rustic Canyon is a good challenge for your game! Conditions are fair, greens are a little slower than usual. Be aware of where the sun is! Shiny means faster. The grain really follows the sun, and of course the canyon. (except 17, where it runs to the right?) Blue tees were in great shape, fairways.... well it's a "links style" course and the lies are tight. I have a harder time getting the club onto the ball and try not to sweep it. AKA...right! Last week I shot a 105! Today 84. Go early to play the front with little or no wind. This course is my second favorite next to Olivas. For me, The tee shot is pretty benign for most of the holes, but your second is the key, and usually your hitting off of, well.... thin fairways. Not the easiest, and then if you get a green in reg... you have undulating, tricky, fun? putts. If you miss the greens, you chips are a challenge. Bump and run? Such a challenge! I recommend it! Learn a little about yourself! Lush fairways are relaxing, but Rustic is, well.... tough. ;)
