Hate to say it.....Loved it so much went back today for seconds! It was epic! Just a beautiful day, clear with just enough wind to make it interesting! Greens were rolling 16.5

Played today, not much to add to the last review! Greens were amazing! 11.6 and holding shots. Slight breeze today, just the usual ocean breeze. Very playable. NO ONE was out there today, maybe because of the high wind warnings? Moorpark and Simi area were very windy I had heard, We just got lucky. There were some maintenance and a lot of "green" fertilizing on the fairways, and some of the bunkers were an eery light green but super fun and wide open! PS. Bought the $59 dollar special for, cart, range and free lunch at the grill. Our T time was 10:51 and the grill closes at 3:00 which they did not tell us and is not on the website but is in the small print on the voucher. FYI Go Play!

WOW...Played today as a walk on at 10:30...got out right away with a twosome. The course is....well, My favorite. It is a love-hate relationship. The course is in awesome shape. T boxes, fairways, greens....I wasn't in the sand or hazards but it looked dry enough to get a club on it. The fringes today were firm, so bump and run is the way to go. Go for the front of the green, never the pin and you will do fine. The greens are "a rolling"! There was a little wind to day and that's when this place can drive you crazy! I just hate, (love) it. It will test your game to no end. Club selections, putting, creativity... you name it, it's all there. Just a beautiful clear day with a slight wind 10mph or so...but it seamed into you the hole day, no mater which hole you were on! ;) This place plays a little different every-time I'm here. Just awesome. If you get the chance.....GO PLAY!

Okay guys, Get Ready!! This course will be in absolutely perfect shape for your event in Dec! Played with two groups and this was a super fun track! They have just finished over seeding so the bummer was it was cart path only which makes for very tricky club selection and finding balls that are hit away from the path. The course is in pristine shape, as are a lot of the courses in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage area. They will all get better as the rest of the year unfolds. Cart girl, every fourth hole! The greens were super slow right now and you really have to bang it to the hole. They break, and hold shots but are still in their infancy. When the temps cool and they get some frost, the Bermuda will kick in and it will be great. Thanks JK for the players tips which were spot on!

Played on Tues with a 20% off rack rate with lunch! What was bad? Well Creekside was closed..but Ridgeline and Canyon Crest were open! Not a deal breaker. When we arrived at 9:00 for our 10:00 tee time the Driving Range was closed for reseeding! (should have been told this when making the T time over the phone the night before?) Well, bummer. Looks like well get some chipping and putting in before the round. Oh ya, did I mention the "free lunch?" Well it included burger, hotdog or a breakfast burrito with fountain drink. Well, with an hour to kill we opted for the breakfast burrito and now I was glad the range was closed because we would have never discovered how good these were!
Starter let us out in front of a foursome and behind another. We were lucky as the pack behind up struggled all day and we really never saw them. The group in front made fairly good time so we had the course to ourselves.
Tee boxes still have signs from the aeration but were in decent shape. Fairways and rough were also in great shape, the bunker sand was soft but thick, maybe from watering. Some areas were very wet and did not release, particularly near the front of elevated greens. The greens are in great condition right now. Rolling out for putts and holding shots. We will be back before the end of the Month and I will re review the course again but for now, This course is always worth the effort and expense. Great breakfast burritos! ;)

I looked on their web site for T times and Mountain was available for a 9:30am t time. Rates on line are $59 Which they say is their "resident" rate. When I called to make the time They told me Mountain was Closed for Fairway reseeding! I said the web site is allowing people to make t times!? Very confusing. I made a time for Valley and if you call to make it make sure of the rate! $87 over the phone, $59 on line for Tues? I made sure they would charge me $59 a player with cart. Whew...after that the Valley course is in pretty fair to good shape. They aerated 9/16 9/18 and the greens show it by looking at them but they were holding shots and rolling out. There was the occasional unexpected turn but for the most part they were in good shape. The T boxes were a little fury and need to be cut, but it was Tues? The sand was great, as I was in the first THREE! green-side bunkers but made my "Sandy's"! It was a fairly good POP. 4.5 The fairways were ROLLING out and only hit driver on just a handful of holes. The secret here is to STAY IN PLAY! Just like Moorpark, Rustic, off the fairway is usually a lateral hazard or worse and you may not find "it" but will find lots of others! :) If you don't put a lot of pressure on yourself, Robinson Ranch is just Beautiful place to play and enjoy the scenery, although a Birdie or two helps or just a few pars! Service here is always great and on point! I can't wait for later this Month when everything comes together. I wish the rates were consistent, and the carts had GPS as there are a lot of blind T shots or even approach's. Go Play!

Could not figure out where to play yesterday with all the heat and humidity so I ended up at my home course which I haven't played since January. It's always a slow day at Rancho unless you are very lucky. The course was well watered almost to the point of over saturation. There were many area's under repair, both in the fairway and green side.
The 12th par three has a huge tree limb behind the green and in the back bunker. They have chopped it up but it's still laying there and the back bunker is unplayable. There was a lot of maintenance, mowing and shoveling muck from cart paths but no one addressing this problem. The greens were the best thing right now. They were soft and rolling fairly true. The 13th green had some sort of square patch/depression on it about the size of a magazine which is not so bad except the pin placement was very close to it? Fairways were typical late summer mix of perfect and bare spots. Tee boxes were a little chewed up. This course is considered a premium of all the City Courses and so they charge a little more to play. The Driving Range Balls are toast. If your lucky you'll get about 8-10 good ones from a large bucket. I wish they would improve the range. Now I will drive all the way to Westchester or Alondra park. For the most part it was worth it.

Played in our traditional Trader Joe's Tournament yesterday. We need to update the maintenance alert. Greens were perfect! Very receptive and rolled true. Fairways were in great shape for being late summer, just a few dry patches which were mostly on the slight mounds in the fairway, places were your ball would roll through anyway. We played from the White tees, and the boxes were in great shape as well. The sand looked well groomed and soft. If you want to play well here, your Tee shots must find the fairway, as there is a lot of trouble left and right, Hills, scrub brush, cliffs etc.. The staff and Rick are always professional and courteous. If you can get a deal or can afford the rack rate, it's worth it. We played Canyon Crest and Ridgeline as usual because it cuts out having to cross the street (we had 22 teams) and I think Creekside is a little more difficult with many forced carries. All the courses have their challenges and rewards! Check it out!

Haven't submitted in a while, not much to say but..Hunter Ranch was such a treat on my recent vacation I have to tell you about it. I was at the lake (Nacimento) for a week and decided to Play a round of golf early in the week so my arms would still work before Water Skiing. This place is first class all the way! CS was super from the Pro shop checking in to the waitress at the cafe. The greens people who were out on the course would actually stop and turn of what ever equipment they were using when you played through, something I wasn't use to at my local Muni's! I always play the White's when playing a new course for the first time and the tee boxes were in perfect shape. The fairways were usually pretty big and ez to hit but there is still enough challenge, elevated greens, Tee boxes, tough par three's, some tough club selections on some of the par 4's as well! Very enjoyable experience and well worth the money. Very scenic and peaceful. A couple of the bunkers had some crusty sand that my group was in but that would be the only complaint. It can get real hot so try and T off early. I got lucky with the weather as this day was overcast and cool. 9 am tee time was good. Have fun!!

Played here on Monday for my "Fathers Day". Got a great rate from Group Golfer!.. Got to the course at 9 for a 10 am T time. While waiting a guy walks up to the starter and asks if he and his buddy can get out. Starter asks him when and he says 10 and he tells him no problem??? Gave the guy my "coupons" to play. Four of em. He tells me he'll call us. I buy three range tokens and my foursome go to warm up a little.. then we putt.... then we wait....... It's 10:15. I see the twosome t off. I go to the "bathroom" and then to the starters desk...He's watching....the Golf Chanel! I say to him "hey! While were young!!" He laughs and says, "ya while were young" I say,,, are you going to call my group to the T box?? he asks what is your name? I say 10:00 o clock t time!.. He says Im good to go? Bad CS as far as Im concerned..."The home of the Players Club"?? After that it was smooth sailing.. 4 Birdies later, I'm calm down. No one in front of us and no one behind! What was really great for us was the weather. I have been so lucky that the wind was not howling!! This is a gem of a track if you can ever get out here. I only play here a few times a year and that's because my Dad live in Palmdale! This is the "Only" course out here besides the Palmdale CC and Crystal Air. Great course but the staff needs to be on point no matter what day of the week it is!

Played on Monday 11:26 tee time. The Starter got us out an hour earlier! They have on onsite repair center next to the driving range, grips and other repairs done in minutes! The course is in fair shape. The greens still need about two weeks to come back from aeration but rolled out pretty well. Just a little bumpy at times. Fairways had some patchy spots and is need of some attention, just some water would do it. I think this course will be prime for late spring, and summer golf. Looking forward to it.

Ended up here with three friends because Sterling Hills was punching greens and had closed the back nine! They did not tell me that half the course was going to be closed when I booked the t time! Bad. As luck would have it, we got on at Tierra Rejada and was very happy to play here. The course itself is....well, a little hokey? All the par three's are a forced carry over a ravine or some sever down hill. Some blind tee shots and some blind approach's as well. That being said, the greens were in perfect shape. Smooth and holding shots. Most have a lot of undulations. The fairways were very nice and in good shape. The T boxes were a little tore up and not level. Over all it was a very nice experience and after playing it for a second time, I know where not to hit my shots and where i would like to go. Nice grass driving range! Go Play! ;)
