Played here Sat 4/17. WOW! My first time here, I will be back.

Check in was seamless, & the crew were all very attentive. Usual Covid precautions, divot fixer is on the carts.

Tee boxes; Grass coverage good, but nearly every hole searching for a level spot.

Fairways; Great coverage, very lush with great roll out on well hit balls. I believe the divot mix on board the carts helps here. Wonderful fairways.

Rough; near perfect coverage, not killer high, but high enough to want to stay in fairway. Really, really nice.

Greens; Great! Med fast, well hit balls would stop, but still kind of hard. A pleasure to putt on (& I didn't putt great, that was me!)

GPS on comfortable carts.

Cart girl was around at least 3 times. The snack shop was closed by 1:30 when we finished.

POP: was good, we finished in 4 hours on a full course.

Overall, this is a great course. Water features, tight fairways at times & wide open at others, just nice! I'll be back. Challenging & well run & in beautiful condition. Pricey (I believe $129 even with buddies "owner" discount,) but worth it to me.

Played here on Thur 4/15. The course in my opinion is not as attractive as the sister course (The Palm.) I do have a beef with the management, they had recently "fertilized" the greens. This entailed heavy use of sand, similar to aeration. No mention of this at check in or when we made Res & no price break. $100 course? That's up to the individual, but with sandy greens defiantly not worth it, especially with so many other targets nearby.

Check in was easy, usual Covid precautions. Divot fixer is on carts & I believe it's doing wonders.

Tee Boxes; As good as they get!

Fairways: Excellent also. Like i said above seeded divot mix made for a near perfect carpet out there. Still good runout, just great.

Rough; It's a resort course, so nothing too tough, but coverage near perfect.

Greens: Dismal! Sand covered "Fertilized" greens slowed putts way down.

GPS on carts.

9*30 start time, POP seemed really slow, but finished in about 4:30. No cart girl, or never saw one. Snack shack & seemingly entire course was closing at 2*pm.
We chose to hit up the Yardhouse instead, a really good choice.

Overall, not a really challenging course was dumbed down considerable because of the poor condition of the Greens. If your playing it soon, check on Greens first. If not for the Greens, nice enough resortish style course.

Played Rancho Vista Sat 4/10, tournament. Service good. 8*16 start. 4:10 pace. Glad to say that the course itself is back to pre-covid. Rakes in traps & divot fixer on carts.

The course is in really good condition. Ted Robinson designed is resortish as it's not the toughest layout. That said it's a lot of fun.

The Tee boxes are great, level & plenty of grass cut down where it should be.
Fairways are lush, beautiful carpet to hit from.
Rough, slightly higher than fairway & many desert "waste areas" with desert growth that can swallow a ball.
Bunkers, bright white sand, easy to hit out of (unless like a couple of my pards you skull!)
Greens- Med speed, rolled nice except for the occasional ball mark like everywhere.

Most comfortable carts ever. Kinda strange, bluetooth speakers but no GPS.

I didn't see a cart girl. Restaurant open & doing booming biz outdoor & limited indoor. Indoor tables are probably 10 feet apart. Good grub, cold brews & fast service.

Highly recommend, drive to/from SFV isn't great, but everything else was.

Played DeBell on Sat. It was an unofficial tourney...Lol. Burbank won't allow tourneys yet, so no CTP or LD markers. Sidepots were in the parking lot.

8*30 Tee off, POP about 4:20. Tee boxes are kinda crooked on some, but I didn't have a problem. Coverage fine. Fairways are ok, some of the layup spots kinda chewed up. No divot mix on carts yet.
Bunkers pretty much hard dirt/sand. But, we were coming off a few days of rain.
Greens as usual were very nice. Rain had slowed them down a bit, but still challenging.
Usual Covid precautions. Pins have the plastic deal that you use your putter to flip the ball out, works well. Allowed double riders without any questions about same household OR single if requested.
The crew in the office & cart shack had everything down pat. Good Job!
Very good outside patio dining. Pick up at the snack shop near 10th tee after ordering on the 8th tee also smooth.

Overall for the play this short muni course gets, it was pretty good & I really enjoyed my 1st time out in a while (back issues.)
Muni Golf, lots of Dog legs around the mountain. But fun! Recommended.

Here goes; Terrible! First off, about the only Pro was senior rate (55 years old, $55) on weekend. Range, on mats, open. Not something I'm usually picky about, the Tee boxes are awful. Dips & slants, no level areas on most & torn up on the Par 3's. The fairways have lots of dirt patches, gopher holes & weeds. The Rough is a mix of dirt/high weeds & short weeds. Lakes are mostly empty sometimes with a swampy mixture in the middle. The Greens are the best thing about the course. They do need a roll, bumpy, thick & slower.
The Pro shop has poster sized prints of the "future Camarillo Springs" including housing development & a 12 hole Golf course. The staff is doing what they can, Owner has decided to not put $$ in. The plan is to close it in about a year & build. I won't be back to one of my favorite tracks unless desperate for a Sat time again. It's a shame!

Played River Ridge Lakes on Sat 8/1. The crew working the desk seem to all be holdovers from the previous Management team & for a good reason, they are good! The restaurant/grill is closed. They have drinks & snacks available.
The cart girl is good & comes around 2-3 times a round.
Range is open.

The Course: Tee boxes, good. Fairways, ok, thin not lush, some hardpan areas.
Very little rough, just slightly grown out Bermuda from the fairways.
Bunkers good for Covid times.
The greens are nice, receptive to iron shots & faster than the Vineyard side.

Overall I really like it, & it's IMHO one of the better muni layouts around.
Plus 78 degrees, on a 100 degree day in the Valley, was just spectacular! I'll be back.

Played River Ridge Vineyard on Sat 7/18. Check in seemless, usual Covid precautions. Mask inside & around other folks... Divot mix finally back on Carts!
9*30 Tee time, off on time. Tee boxes pretty good thru out.
Fairways were ok, thin, not lush, (typical for here) but coverage is good. Rough shorter, good coverage, but not very penal. The Greens med-slower. After American Golf takeover, they slowed the Greens for faster play. Seemed even slower now, but pretty good condition. Bunkers around the greens were nice. Fairway Bunks were hard packed & easy to play out of. Pace of play; we were a 3some. Front nine decent for a mid-morning Sat at 2:10, Back a slow 2:30. We didn't notice until 18th when 2 groups backed up behind a 5some what the issue was. That's American Golf for you. They also asked if we wanted to share a cart. I think that's wrong unless they mention people in the same household can share a cart. When we finished there was a line waiting for carts. Maybe invest in more? Doubtful Covid will end soon. Plus it speeds up play. I really like the course, especially in 72 degree temps rather than mid 90's at home. I Recommend.

I played The Stadium last Friday. One of my all time favorite courses! Not in the greatest condition at this point in the off-season, but still a fun test. Tee boxes were very good. Fairways were hit & miss (not just my drives.) The starter told us most folks were playing Ground Under Repair for bare spots in the fairways. We agreed to do the same & I think all 4 of us used it 2-3 times. Some bare Fairway areas were 20'x15'. Not on many holes, but a few. Most were plush.
The rough & grassy swales were in good shape, pretty tough, longer grass in swales.
The greens were summer crunchy, not impossible to stop a short iron but still pretty hard. They ran med fast.
Cart girl out on back 9 (we started at 7*30). The clubhouse restaurant (Earnies) was open for takeout & outdoor dining. Always good, we had lunch outside before the real heat came on.
Covid precautions: No ice chest on cart. We all brought our own ice/water/Gatorade. Single carts. Don't understand no divot bottle on carts. How hard to disinfect the bottle? We played in 4:10. Pretty decent pace for this monster.
Greens being punched this week, so I would stay away for a few weeks. I'm biased because I luv the course, but even not in tourney shape, still a blast!

I played Hansen Dam on Sunday 6/14, my first round since knee replacement in Feb. Needless to say, great to be back! Overall the course is in fine condition. We went off around 8am as a 3some (1 no-show wuss.) Due to Covid, single carts (we had 1 walker.) We played in 4 hours10 mins. The tee boxes are in good shape, the fairways as good as I've seen them over a 30 year period. Greens were really good, med speed, with a few too many pitch marks. No rakes in the bunkers, but they had been dragged, no issues there. Carts have GPS & speakers.

The Dam is an LA City muni. I think it's much more interesting than the other 3 SFV city courses with some elevation changes although uphill #10 is quirky.

A couple Covid notes, Reservations only, no wait list. I believe CC only. Many courses are not including divot fixer on the carts? WHY?? It ain't that hard to disinfect that little bottle when doing the rest of the cart! Recommended for a fun time.

Terrible!! I've ripped American Golf many times & here we are again. Start time 8*40ish, started just 10 minutes late. My buddy & I were put together with 3 others as a 5some. We waited on every hole, pretty much every shot. 3 hour front nine (shoulda bailed then,) 2hr 40 min back 9. No Marshall, no beverage cart. At the turn I asked why no drink cart & was told "only in the summer." It was 91 degrees!! The Course: Overall very dry. It's been hot & windy, but c'mon!. Tee boxes bad. Not level, torn up. Fairways some good areas, but many bad including some dirt & muddy areas, maybe leaking pipes? The rough is as bad as a course gets. Dead weeds, leaves, large branches, crap! Greens normally are good & fast, had some sanded areas, maybe a virus & were slow. Bunkers were decent, some nice sand over hard bottom. I played in a twilight summer league & the course was in good shape. The 5some thing ruins the course. If I ever play here again it will be in the first hour tee off. Don't waste your time!

Played TR on 10/3, 8am start. The service was good. The course is in great overall condition. If you haven't played it, it's a gem. Hilly with some really elevated tee shots & beautiful views. The tee boxes were fine. The fairways were mostly lush with a few odd small dirt patches. The rough was great, 3" or so, but the ball usually sat up. The greens were good, tad slow & showed some older punch marks, but they didn't effect putts much. The lone fail is the lack of sand in the bunkers. Hard packed, some wet & muddy. The cart girl came around on the back nine. This course is also a great value, for old guys like myself (over 55) M-F $39 including cart. Before 8*am same $$ for anyone. The 19th hole has good food & beer selection & bartender/server Holly is great!

Played here last Sat. Tee time just before 8am, finished in 4:20. Should be quicker that early, but the City won't pay for Marshall's... Now the course, really good overall shape, especially for end of summer. The tee boxes are fine. The fairways were great for a Muni course, good coverage mostly lush. The rough was mixed, some bare some overgrown, but mostly tough kikuya. The greens were medium speed, and rolled very well, except like seemingly all courses of late, ball marks were present. Hansen Dam is a great course to have some fun & smack it around. Some nice challenges (#9 is a great hole!) Easier to get on, due to the East Val location & usually better condition than the Encino/Balboa/Woodley courses. Play it & have some fun.
