Early morning four hour round with another good twosome. The staff is great and helpful and the practice facilities adequate for the traffic usually here. The tee boxes were all still a little damp with good coverage of grass and weeds. The rough was fairly long and damp as well. The rough is also a mixture of different grasses, weeds and lots of clover. Once found you could usually put a good swing on the ball. The fairways all had pretty good coverage with tight nearly dormant bermuda lies. The green side traps I found (four) were all in good condition with rakes and plenty of sand much to my surprise. My playing partners still said the fairway bunkers were sandless and hard. The greens have good coverage and about half were in really nice shape with few marks, rolling well and holding good shots. The other half of the greens were marked up from ?? and ball marks in need of repair. The overall course condition remains steady with the maintenance being performed. The location of this course is ideal for those living in the area. We're still waiting for the conditions to return to what they were many years ago. Who knows?

Played the Creek/Oaks nines on 8-5 as the Stone nine is still closed for over seeding. Staff is always great but the driving range was ALSO closed for over seeding! That was a bummer. Then we found out that the Oaks was cart path only! So much for a quick round. The carts are still some of the best around and nicely kept. The tee boxes on the Creek were somewhat thin and marred up on the par three holes. The Oaks tee boxes were thick and lush and long. The fairways on the Oaks had great coverage with good lies if you didn't find a divot in need of sand. The Oaks fairways were thick, green and LONG. The length of the turf on the Oak fairways was nearly as long as the rough on the Creek. The rough on the Creek was 3-5 inches long and very penal if and when you found your balls. There were numerous lost balls in the Creek rough as we looked for those from our group. The rough on the Oaks was ridiculously NOT fair for the golfers. It was nearly impossible to locate your ball in the Oaks rough let alone advance it. The traps were all in really good condition and most were raked or had rakes in them. The greens on the Creek always have the most traffic and it shows. Numerous ball marks and foot prints in the afternoon. The greens on the Oaks were in much nicer shape with few ball marks and rolled nicely once you were on deck. The cart path only really slowed down the pace as we finished in 5.25 hours. The Stone nine and driving range once reopened will take some play off of these two nines which will definitely speed things up.

Sunday morning round in 4.5 hours. We usually get out when the sun comes up because of the slow play you can encounter at this course. The staff is semi friendly and the carts and practice facilities and adequate. The tee boxes were all in need of a trim but had good shaggy coverage. The rough is thick in places and doesn't exist in others. The fairways ranged from thin and spotty to thick and fluffy. It really depends on where your drive off the tee ends up as to what type of lie you'll have. Even good shots can end up with a crappy lie in the middle of some fairways here at the Ranch. The traps are all well trimmed and MOST actually have pretty good sand in them. I had the chance to hit from several of them and they all have a good fluff and were well raked. The greens are really starting to slide with a few having bare spots and others shrinking as the other grasses are being allowed to take them over. The speed of the greens was slower than usual and some were a little bumpy with the bare sections and numerous ball marks. Other greens that are not hit often were in better condition but still not what you used to experience here. The green fees being charged are probably a little more than what is being offered nowadays. The facility is really starting to slip.

Early round this morning in a little over four hours. The staff is great and the carts are good but offer no gps. The tee boxes were all a little rough but had sufficient coverage with most needing of a trim. The rough has gotten pretty long again especially if you are not close to the fairways. Finding wayward drives can be an egg hunt and advancing your ball from it very discouraging. The fairways are better than average with almost all holes having no bare sections and provide fairly good lies. You will find a few thin places on some holes and damp/wet patches on others. The traps I found were in decent shape with actual sand in them. Most traps appeared to be in need of a little to a lot of new sand however. The greens which are usually great were a little disappointing today. Several greens had bare sections and numerous ball marks and the speed varied from average to slow. The rain the evening before may have had something to do with the inconsistent green speeds? The course looks to be slowly improving and always seems to be fairly busy. The green fees are better than some in the area and seem to be fair for the conditions.

Friday morning 4.5 hour round with a couple of locals at this course. The staff was efficient and friendly enough. The carts were pretty basic with no gps but plugs for the devices. The practice area was small but adequate. The course itself was still a little damp from recent rains in the area. The tee boxes were all level with thin sections but very large which gave you a choice in tee placement. The rough was fairly thick everywhere and pretty long. It was difficult to find shots that ended up in the rough on almost every hole. The fairways actually had decent coverage but a few holes had very thin places with sparse coverage and lots and lots of roll. The fairways lies ranged from nice with good turf to questionable with nearly little grass. The bunkers all were well maintained and all had rakes. They all had plenty of good sand and most had been recently fluffed up. The greens were very dry and looked thin but all were uniform in coverage and extremely slow. They generally held a line but even a well struck shot into them would run and sometimes all the way off the putting surface. The course is fairly long and has many forced carries with ob everywhere. Every hole is lined with trees and there are protected sections throughout the round. The rates are reasonable for the area and this course is usually busy.

Too early of an am round on the Creek/Stonehouse in 3.5 hours. The single paired with us disappeared into the darkness on the first hole. We had the first time at 6am, which is too early unless you can see in the dark. The staff is great and the carts are starting to show some abuse. The tee boxes on the Creek nine were mostly dry/thin/beat to death with broken tees everywhere. Many were so dry it was dangerous to place a tee into them. The Stone nine had very nice coverage on the tee boxes with not much liter. The rough for both nines was not very thick or long. You could hit a ball from it fairly easily. The fairways on the Creek were noticeably thin and patchy. Many sections were damp but the turf was not cooperating with the attempts to encourage growth. The Stone nine had excellent fairways with great turf and good lies. Most of the bunkers had enough sand but some lacked rakes and others that had rakes were in need of maintenance. The greens were all in nice shape with many more unrepaired ball marks on the Creek nine. The speed was still slower than usual but quicker than my last round here. There is quite a noticeable difference in the conditions between the Stone/Oaks nines and the Creek nine. It seems the Creek gets quite a bit more play and definitely sits a little lower on the property than the other two. They have raised their club membership rates again but it is still a fair deal if you enjoy the facility.

Early morning four hour Sunday round. The course is so busy but the conditions continue to slide. The tee boxes were pretty dry and fair to thin with a few in need a trim. The rough has almost dried up and disappeared on most of the holes, which can be a bummer on shots near the water hazards. The fairways are all sloped towards the ponds and with the dry conditions and lack of rough many end up wet. Many tee shots had to be moved from their resting places due to the lack of turf! The traps are mostly packed dirt/sand and those that aren't are filled with water. There are a couple of holes that have sand in the traps but those that hit from them usually do not rake their mess. The greens were in good condition but somewhat slower than usual. Most would hold good shots and rolled pretty smooth. Getting hard to recommend with the current conditions.

Early morning Sunday round in 4.5 hours. The new carts are now the highlight of the course. The staff is friendly and practice facilities are small but adequate. The tee boxes were mostly dry and shaggy from start to finish. The boxes on few holes had very little turf and others had thin six inch shag? The rough was fairly long on a a few holes but most had little and it was a very thin mix of grass with weeds. The fairways ranged from nice with good lies to mostly thin with little grass and lots of weeds. The sand traps were almost all littered with pebbles and rocks. Many of the fairway bunkers were hard pan dirt! The greens are still the best part of the course. The greens held good shots and rolled nicely with a few being a little on the bumpy side. They have removed sections of the fairways on a couple holes on the front nine which really doesn't affect play but looks pretty sad. The course is still treading water locally against the competition but offers reasonable rates.

Saturday afternoon Oaks/Creek five hour round on a hot day. Staff is great and practice facilities adequate. We thought it wouldn't be too busy but there were a few groups of young kids in five and six playing some sort of tournament. The tee boxes were all level but dry, thin and littered with broken tees. The rough is still around but thinner and shorter than in previous rounds. The Creek fairways have dried and are thin on a couple holes with cpo but I don't believe that will help much. The traps all have plenty of good sand and rakes but too many flakes do not know how to use them. The greens were all slow and most were peppered with ball marks. Many of the marks were fresh and I was hoping that they weren't from the kids in the tournament. The heat has taken its toll on sections of the course but none any place where your balls should be! Still recommended

Early Sunday morning round in slightly over four hours. Pro shop employee a light rude and confused at check in. No more senior rates offered and so busy they were out of carts when we finished the round. The tee boxes were mostly level with the exception of a couple holes. Most tee boxes were beat up and dry. The rough had receded quite a bit on most of the course but there is some left here and there. Where it exists it is pretty thin and dry. The fairways had fairly good coverage but there were several sections which were struggling to keep what turf there was alive. There were many unfilled divots on approach to just about every hole. The traps were all trimmed but the sand if any was concrete. The greens were slower than usual but did hold a line at times. Most greens were fairly bumpy and had ball marks in need of repair. The facility is almost always busy because there are not many courses nearby worth playing.

Early Sunday morning time with a fourth that was added to our group. Sadly he had to quit after his second shot on the first hole. Somehow he threw himself from his cart and ran over his leg? My partners witnessed it but all I saw was him fly from the cart! Ouch. The staff is good at their jobs and the carts are good but lack gps. The tee boxes range from level with good coverage to sloped with shaggy or little coverage. The rough has gotten pretty thick in places with lots of water and an abundance of clover. Lost balls are common in some sections on rough here. The fairways are still in fairly good condition with thin sections and tight lies on a few holes. The traps are in okay shape with many being damp and in need of a good raking. The greens are still in really nice condition. A few greens had numerous ball marks in need of repair but most had very few. The rates have not been increased as much as many of the local options which makes this course a fairly good deal considering the conditions.

Sunday morning 4.5 hour round on the Oaks/Creek nines. The warmer weather is starting to show in parts of the course. The tee boxes are all in good shape but a few wear a little worn out with play and littered with broken tees. The rough is not very thick and noticeably shorter than in my previous round with some sections on a few holes starting to brown out. The traps all have plenty of sand but the few I played from had small rocks in them which was something that I have not seen before. Most of the traps had actually been raked but some had not. The fairways are still in really nice condition with no browning anywhere and good lies. Most of the greens were quite a bit slower than ever before? Not sure what the reason was but made for many three putts in our group. Several of the greens had ball marks in need of repair. Probably the same people that leave their broken tees behind and fail to rake the traps! The warmer days have also reduced the number of golfers playing which makes finding a parking spot a lot easier.
