Played this AM. Tee boxes were set on the Black and the Red this morning. Still letting some of the tees grow in. By playing the black tees (yes they have them) you get a different feel for the course. Nice for a change. All boxes look great. Fairways lush and rolling. Rough down to 1/2 " and traps all playable. Greens are in the best shape (IMO) I have ever seen them. Hold nice high shots with some release. Go in to low and they will send your ball in all directions. But they chip and putt really nice with good speed at about 10. Great customer service from Dillon and Julia as well as Rich in the cart barn.

Played this AM in great weather. POP 3 H. Course has new carts and they were installing the GPS systems this morning. As we teed off early we did not have access to the GPS but used our range finders. Those that did use the GPS said it was excellent. We will find out the next time we play. Course is in great shape. Tee boxes all fine. Fairways were clean and provided good lies and roll out all round. Traps were all clean and playable. Very little rough to deal with but there are enough water holes, small culverts/valleys and OB to contend with that will and can make your round a nightmare. Greens were in some of the best conditions I have seen them. They were all mowed, held shots, released shots, chipped/putted with about speed of about 10 and totally devoid of divots, other than the ones we made which we repaired. Customer service was a tad slow this AM which is unusual for this course IMO. Good day of golf on a well conditioned course.

Before leaving SD today, I read the reviews and noticed that Weber and Sparky14 had reviewed it. So I took the chance to stop on the way home and see if I could walk on. Got on within 30 minutes of arrival. Unlike Weber and perhaps Sparky14 I took a cart. But that did not spoil the round of golf. Their reviews are excellent and w/o their reviews I might have just passed by. I have always enjoyed playing this course and sorry that it is now so far away. Course is exactly as they described and with the beautiful weather the scenery added in as well. Very nice course with excellent service and conditions. Recommended.

Out today but course is not back to full size. Greens have healed nicely but all tee boxes are still closed and tees moved way up. Basically 18 hole par 3 course at the moment. Tee boxes will not reopen until Sunday the 25th.

We played this AM after the course was opened last week after overseeding. Still to early to play here IMO. 1) Cart path only all 18. 2) Fairways are lush but have not been mowed and they are very damp so lots of mud balls and no roll at all. 3) $69 is not worth it right now. Always great customer service from Al in the clubhouse. The greens were mowed and playable but they putted slow and some still show signs of aeration. The rough is high and difficult. Traps are damp and some even have standing water in them. I love playing here but not under these conditions. I think they course will be much more playable in about 2 to maybe even 4 weeks. I understand the Ike is open and playable so there is always that available if you wish to play here. The one area that really makes it tough to play here presently is CPO. Lots of walking up and down hillsides is totally draining for even the heartiest of golfers IMO. Anyone who has played here knows what I am talking about. So as John says "know before you go" is in effect.

As we could not play our regular Sun courses due to aeration and tournaments we opted for here (I was out voted LOL). This is an old school course with some of the smallest greens I have seen in years (and they were just aerated). The course unfortunately sits across the street from a LARGE dairy farm. And yes it stinks. And there are flys all over the course. I would not recommend this place unless one is desperate and has no other place to play. Yes the workers are nice and the price of $27 with cart is great for a Sun. I am not going to go any further with this review. I would not play here again

Was out today early to beat the heat. And we just made it. Course is in good shape presently but 10/22 - 24 aertion is back. We had nor heard any tee box issues. Fairways were damp early and inhibited roll but provided good lies. Within 1 hour they where rolling out pretty good. Traps were all playable and heard no excuses (well a couple but this is a family site). Greens were in very nice shape (including # 15 nice job superintendent) and held shots, released shots and chipped/putted great all round. They have a new fleet of very nice carts but currently w/o GPS. So bring your own. Great customer service as always (thanks Parker).

Played this AM. Course was damp to start with but dried out quickly. Great check in with Parker in the shop as always. Found the tee boxes all clean and playable. Fairways had good coverage decent roll and good lies all round. Greens were all in good shape. Held shots, released shots and chipped/putted with good speed all round. 10/22 and 23 aeration. Course seems to be getting more play recently?

We played this AM before they punch tomorrow and Tues. Hard to believe they can get these greens any better than they are right now IMO. And this was after two days of tournaments. Hard to believe I never repaired a ball mark, other than mine. They held shots, released shots and chipped and putted great all round. Tee boxes were all playable and tee friendly. Fairways had good coverage and good roll. Rough is virtually non extent. Traps are getting better each time I play here (or my sand game is getting better). Top notch service in the shop week after week. Greatly appreciated.

Due to tournaments and aeration we found a great time here today. First off and POP was at 3H. First time for me here and I was surprised that the last posting was by Weber back in Feb. I found the course to be very nice and to my liking. And the conditions of the course, other than the dampness from overnight are very good. Yes it is a short course but it has some teeth left in it and for $37 and cart a good deal. Tee boxes were all playable but some could use some leveling in the future and they do need to move the markers around more. Fairways though damp gave good lies and a fair amount of roll out. Rough was thick and damp outside of the fairways and played like it. There are also creeks and culverts along with OB areas that can get you in trouble as well. Though there are houses along some of the fairways most of them, except on # 17 really do not come into play. In one trap it was just fine. Greens were clean, devoid of divots (wow) released shots and chipped and putted very well all round. Customer service at check in was great. Did not stay for any food but their dining room and outside patio look very nice and comfortable. There is also a nice driving range behind the pro shop. Was not crowded when we teed off but it was busy when we made the turn and luckily we did not encounter any back 9 players. Recommended.

Finally got to play The Goat. My first observation would be - do not walk (which I knew from Mr Weber) unless you are "super" fit. And don't get paired with walkers if you are riding, as it will be a long round. I left the 2 walkers who were with me (we were first off) after the 2nd hole. I found the layout enjoyable and quite different from any executive courses I have played. What I did not enjoy were the many (and I mean many) awkward side hill and up/down hill lies one gets on this course. Of course that is to be expected on a layout like this, but you need to know how to handle those shots when encountered. Most golfers in S CA don't get this many type of shots in the rounds they play in S CA. And on the par 3's were the cart is not allowed and the hole is an uphill hole (and they have several) it can even be a little difficult walking down the side hills to your ball if you don't hit the green. The course was in good condition. Tee boxes were fine. Fairways were clean/dry and provided good lies and roll. Traps were all clean and playable. Rough was not an issue, but OB areas are plenty. Greens were clean and playable and they putted and chipped fine with good speed of about 9 maybe 10. I was not impressed with the service at check in and will leave it at that. And hole # 18 is under construction and it appears it is a long way from being finished. So it is playing with a temporary green in the fairway at 145 yards and IMO totally destroyed the enjoyment of the round for me. If I lived closer I might play this course maybe once every 2 months. It would not be something I would play on a regular basis. I know they have been working on bringing it back but IMO they have a long way to go. I will read the future reviews and guage my interest accordingly over the next year.

Played this afternoon on a special for aeration. Greens done last week but after 1 week they played really well. Have not played here for many years. A really beautiful layout IMO. Course is in great condition. Tee boxes just fine. Fairways clean and giving nice roll out and great lies. Traps very playable. Greens aerated last week with small punch holes. This was the first time I played on greens this good after 1 week after aeration. Carts are like little luxury cars. So comfortable. Great customer service from every employee. Recommended.
