Played with 7 other wonderful GKers Saturday at about 9am. This was my first time playing the course. Being part of the PGA West family I exepected this course to be fairly pristine. It did not disappoint, the fairways were exceptional. Bunkers were above avg. greens for the most part were very nice...though there was 1 or 2 that looked pretty crappy. Keep that ball on the green grass is the "duh" tip for you....the wastelands are challenging to play from IF you can even find your ball. Nice driving range and practice areas...good cart....no gps, but had the cooler. POP was okay...though our 4some had to wait all day on the group in front of us...at least they were pretty to look at. (Wink to the GK ladies in our group)

Not much more to add after Keith's review. I will say that this was the best manicured course I have ever played. Greens needed to be a bit more receptive to make it more accessible. Our Caddy didn't save me a single stroke and saved Keith only 1. Incredibly unique layout and design, I would suggest you view this course via Google Earth to get a reasonable idea of how it looks. Incredible oasis at the moment you hit the property. Carts are nice and have cooler and club/ball cleaner integrated.

Day 2 of our golf weekend brought us to this course on a sunny yet very windy day (according to locals it was abnormally windy).

layout is nothing exciting, but still a nice looking course. Bunkers had quite a few small pebbles. Greens were in great condition. no real signature hole to speak of, but just a nice track and certainly for the $40-$50 PP we paid.

nice clubhouse.....warm up area was basic and small.

Played approx. 9:45am on Saturday morning. had the Golf Moose deal and even though the course was basically empty due to the ongoing rain, they charged us an additional $15 each to go out before noon. Kinda bush league, but okay..rules are rules I suppose.

A little challenging to really review a course you are playing in pouring rain, but I will try to be fair.

Layout was pretty interesting, but this is a course designed for walkers...not carts. Slightly confusing getting around there as a first timer, but we managed.

Greens were very nice...rain slowed them down a bit, but they were rolling nice and smooth.

Fairways were super nice and lush through out....

Bunkers - great sand...no issues here

Rough - ouch....now that's some long, thick rough.

will have to play this again to get a better feel and sense of the beauty out here, but the weather definitely influenced our perspective.

I can see why folks rave over this course, even in crappy weather you had this sense that this is a special place.

Played Sunday morning with wife and GK'ers Willie, Donna, John and Kristie in our 1st battle of the sexes. What a blast we had, the course is in fantastic shape. We went out as 3somes in b2b tee times and had an enjoyable pace all day. Tee boxes were in good shape though some pretty dry, Fairways were great, rough was a little inconsistent with some areas tall and thick and others cut quiet a bit lower.....if you missed the FW it was just luck of the draw how your next shot would be. Bunkers seemed okay, a little thin perhaps...but totally playable. Now for the greens...condition-wise, they were above average....but holy cow were they tricky and challenging....most didn't hold shots that well, and the speed and slickness just made for quite the challenge all day.

all in all, it was a great day. Enjoyed an early breakfast at the resort and then drinks and a late lunch afterwards.

BTW - Snakes are out!!! the ladies saw 2 Rattlers in "love" off the tee box on 17th.....

Walked Mile Square Classic Sunday at 10:45, first time playing the Classic course and I was impressed with conditions. Walking in the 90 degree heat was a little taxing, but no strokes so that was good. Fairways were mostly lush, greens had minimal noticed ball marks. Rough was thick and consistent for the whole round. Bunkers might have been a tad "pebbley", but otherwise no issues. What is up with no cart service on the weekend? Maybe they just don't do it, I don't know, but that would have been nice yesterday. For $52 walking rate I didn't feel I overpaid as the conditions were as nice as any Muni I have played in a while.

Played Sunday 03/08 with wife around 10am, POP was just shy of 5 hours. Did have to wait here and there on the group in front of us. Course is in the best condition if I have seen it since we first played it early in 2014. 1st hole tee box is going through is being completely renovated so they have moved a make shift tee box up forward. Should look very impressive upon completion. Fairways were mostly lush, a few thin lies. Bunkers were 50/50 from what I could gather. Greens were tricky and the ball didn't exactly roll true all the time. Rough was long and thick and a little punishing if you happened to find it. Didn't see a cart service the entire round (thought that was odd).

19th hole is still one of my favorites, sit out afterwards and enjoy a cold one and some food while watching folks on the range and approaching 18.

Dricket and Rstang (Donna and Willie) met us at the 19th and we enjoyed a couple of hours of catching up and visiting....very nice.

Played today at 6:40am, pop was approx 4 hours with 0 waiting and no one behind us pressing..very fun round with friends. Course is in very nice condition. Recent reviews have been pretty accurate. Fair number of ball marks on green, but didn't really notice the impact putting today, fairways are good, some a little tighter than others, rough was thick and long...bunkers decent.....they now have gps in the carts..that is nice...not targeting the pin, mouth generic center of the green....sorta....Always best to make your own scope readings. Paid $60 today and felt that to be a fair price for what the course conditions were.

Played New Years day with the wife and GKers SBogey and CPennbo and as always enjoyed the great company.

The Course itself was not one of my favorite tracks experienced thus far in the Palm Springs area. The Layout was not overly interesting and just too many bunkers and waste areas for my visual liking.

Tee Boxes were in above average Condition, Greens were slick like glass and very challenging to read. Fairway bunkers were crap...full of rocks and pebbles...probably best to just take a drop or pre-clean an area in the bunker and save yourself the nice chip/scratch on your club....Greenside bunkers were soft and fluffy...and DEEP!

Fairways were mostly good, some thin lies here and there...

Rough was okay....nothing too taxing, but their isn't a lot of transition from Fairway to the waste lands...

Might try the North Course once before writing this place off entirely....but the South Course is a one and done for me.

Played this morning at 7:30 with fellow GK'r Rstand06 (Willie), holy moly was it cold, there is a HUGE difference temp wise between Lake Forest and Escondido....it was the frozen tundra the first 5 holes or so.

First time playing this course, and I was VERY impressed....carts are very basic, but do have GPS, decent range to "warm up" on..though it didn't help a lot this morning when it was 36 degrees.

the layout of the course was solid and a good variety of shots need to be in the bag.

Score well on the front 9 because the back 9 has some teeth to it.

greens are definitely the strong attribute here, simply perfect condition. often the greens were tricky to read, so you need to have some experience at this course to beat the greens.

Bunkers were fluffy and no rocks..Rough was of a playable length and for the most part didn't impact the game.

Fairways were mostly good, but there were some areas that were almost like hitting of hard-pan, but generally speaking they were fine.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is within a reasonable driving distance to give it a look if they haven't played it.

Played Christmas morning with my lovely wife. First time at the resort and was very pleased with everything. Decent matts at the driving range. Carts were "ok"; no GPS or cooler.
Fairways were better than average, rough was thick but not overly taxing to get out of. Bunkers were pretty good from my limited experience in them today. Wife hit a ton of them and said they were very good....fluffy and soft.
Green were in really good condition despite the occasional ball mark left unrepaired.
We had a pretty good deal on GN for $105 each at a 9:45am tee time. I would say it was pretty much worth that.

Saw cart gal a few times....they have plenty of clean restrooms on the course as well.

All in all, a very nice experience. I would recommend this course to play if you can find a deal at $105 or less....definitely not worth the rack rate.

lunch outside at their bistro was also nice

Final leg of the mini-golf vacation. Used vouchers won at a GK Event. This course had a reputation of being pretty challenging, well it didn't disappoint. I played the gold tees at about 6500 yards or so. The front 9 was a walk in the park and I didn't see what all the worry was about. OH BOY!!!! the back 9 has some serious teeth to it. Hung on for a 91, but the back 9 was not comfortable at all...very tricky and long with an abundant amount of danger lurking all around. This course has some great views and each hole is quite interesting. Awesome experience. I REALLY suggest you play this track and enjoy some wonderful desert golf.
