Played 12/4/15 and this course is not you typical resort course the price is right and the course has hard par 4. If you in the area drive up the hill and play this course. You will not be sorry. Oh yah it's a Robert Trent Jones course.

Like the course but not in as good as shape as the Kings course (except the sand traps). Pace of play 3.5 great, almost all 2 and 3 balls playing. Greens and fairways need work. Played 12/5/15

Played to as a walk on (got out in 1/2 hr.). Not sure what the previous post was all about because all of the greens were an 8 out of 10. Had a great time with other two sum and played in about four hours. The course was busy but moved well. Worth a play.

Played yesterday 12/1/15. This course is so mush fun to play (tight on the front) with not one bad hole on the course. Outside of Honolulu about 30 minutes and worth the drive. You just can't find a bad thing to say about it. From start to finish fun.

Ok, the crazy people are running the asylum! I play Brookside almost 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) and this is a typical occurrence. We were the second group out (6:28) and on the third hole a single drives to the middle of the fairway drops a ball or two and maybe three and stats playing. So I went up to her and said what gives you the right to cut in front of us? Of course she said "I don't speak english". Not true! Then she says that she skipped two holes!!??? Then on number nines green just before you cross the street another person comes from outside the golf course and joins her! We call the golf course and they send out a marshal who goes up to them (they have now skipped number 10 to get in front of the first group out) and they say the magical words around here "monthly pass" which I guess gives them the right to do anything they want?????? I have a monthly and I don't do that. This is an every day thing at Brookside and is very disruptive!

Now the course it has come back from the punching of about two weeks ago and the greens are smooth and mid. fast.

Again played on our way home from San Francisco and had a great time. If you are in the Paso area stop by and play.

Will someone else please review this course! I come up to San Francisco with the wife for a birthday party on Saturday and played this course on Friday the 18th. Walked up at 6:00 and saw out by 6:30 (first out). Had a good time as always. This is a must play if you are in the area. $38.00 for golf including cart, plus breakfast and lunch plus two drinks. It is so worth it!

Played yesterday and it's the same old thing! Greens are slow, fairways thin and some are dirt (16 and 17). I was not in a bunker but they looked ok. I have to say I love the layout but for $41.00 during the week (nonresident) to walk it's too much. I don't think I will come back unless I see on GreensKeeper that conditions have improved.

First the course is in great shape. Greens medium fast, fairways good, (some areas G.U.R.) T-boxes good. That's the good and now the BAD!!!! Pace of play was just about as bad as it could be!!!!!!! At the 4.25 hour mark on hole fifteen I had had enough. Brookside lets out 5 balls and then just let them play as SLOW as they want. So for the first nine holes we waited on every shot (2.5 hrs.). At number 10 there were three groups standing on the Tee and then it got worse. Brookside had a modified shot gun starting at 8am (14 to 1 holes) with six-somes! The 5 ball that was so slow could not keep up with a 6 ball! MARSHALL WHAT MARSHALL!!!!!! So when we finished 15, there standing on the 16th tee was FOUR groups and I had had enough (4.25 hrs)!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing the five-some were five men in three carts and right behind them was another five-some all women, all walking and they were up there butts all morning.

Shame on you Brookside, players that tee off at 5:45am want to play in 4 hrs. or LESS and not 5.5 hrs.!! If you want to put out five-somes in the am get Marshall's out there to keep them going.

Played Tuesday (3/31) with Tom, Lou and Alan on a pass for $25.00 each including cart. The course is in ok shape, the greens are the best part. The greens are a little slow but consistent, but who ever put the cups in was a hack (all were ragged). The course is up and down and is almost not walkable. We had a good time (we always do) but would not pay more then the $25.00 we got the course for.

Played today and I must say this place gets a bad rap. Yes the fairways are not the best but my ball always found grass. Not always the best grass but grass. The sand is fine (was in a three). The best part of the course is the greens, they are smooth and med-fast and got faster and the day went on. I'm a senior with a county card so I paid $14.00 to walk, so is the price right, you bet. Walked up at 8:15 and was in the car by 12:00, not bad. Will come back any time I'm in the area.

First time I have played this course on the weekend (Sunday 3/15). Greens were slower then I remember but rolled true. Lot of good deals Monday to Friday and ok on the weekends. This is a links course and lot of fun to play, but you must play the right tees and you can't miss the fairways. If you do miss you may never find your ball, that's how long the grass is! Play it, you will love it.
