Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii! Can confirm aerated greens. I should have known better to check here first, but it is a peeve of mine when the course doesn't make it clear online and in the golf shop. That being said, the rest of the course is in good enough shape for the price. Fairways mostly green with some visible dead areas on each hole, tee boxes mostly OK (definitely not recently leveled some clearly not mowed in awhile to keep as flat and cut as possible), bunkers were wet sand but still sand. Pace of Play for 1:50 tee time was about 4:15. Pro shop sold as single and said "just find a group of less than 4 and go out" instead of organizing, but it worked out because he said that to other singles and we ended up as a 4some.
Layout is a fun one. Typical of the residential country club era in LA...hilly, can really get some extra yardage playing the right spots.

Buyer beware: many tee boxes under repair and temporary tee locations definitely not in the best spots (slopes, dead grass). The signature “bell” par 3 plays as like a 75 yard chip shot from rough instead of the blind over the hill. The holes that were in normal playing condition were fine. Normal wear and tear on tee boxes, mostly good fairways and roughs. Some chunks of greens missing on fringes, but overall not bad divot wise on greens. Wouldn’t recommend until repairs complete. Golf cart fleet is also definitely in need of replacement. Very bare, no windshield or ice chests.
Can’t really say much that hasn’t already been said. Best bang for the buck in so cal. $39 to walk! I chose an early tee time, so fog played a factor for the first 3-4 holes. Had to hope to find my ball after only being able to see the general direction it went. After that it was perfect. Marine layer kept sun away except last few holes and greens still ran fast despite a little moisture.
greens were in great shape for a heavy use LA City muni! Got an early morning tee time and finished in under 4 hours. Fairways in OK shape--some green, some patches. Bunkers a little hard and not raked. Tee boxes mixed: some good, some beat up. But this course is still a great "tune up" course. Hard to lose a ball.
A Jem of Robert Trent Jones! Very forgiving fairways, but some tough bunker placements and par 3’s that require long carry or dump off areas that will leave you with a tough chip to make par. Course is preparing for overseeding, so fairways not pristine but still very much playable. Greens were pristine and had some tough breaks. Rough thick, but not too deep. Will definitely play again if I get the opportunity.
As a higher handicapped player (21), I loved this course. From the middle tees, each hole offers playable shots without having to overthink anything. Course was in great shape, carts have gps and speakers, practice facility is huge and on grass with callaway balls, and staff was great. The par long 3 16th (200 yards) is probably the signature hole, overlooking the strip as you have to hit a solid shot to over the desert terrain to avoid losing your ball.
Conditions: aeration taking place on half the greens, but other than that course is in good shape. Fairways are firm, but green. Rough probably about 3 inches thick. Sand traps are loosening up, but still slightly packed down/hard. The non aerated greens were in good shape and medium speed.
Pace of play: finished a twilight round in a little over 4 hours. No back ups.
Layout: good for my high handicap. Hard to completely lose a ball unless you fly it over a fence. Couple challenging holes including a long par 3 and some holes with water in play that you have to decide to fly or lay up. Couple holes protected by deep green side bunkers as well.

Course is in rough shape. Hard to make out what is a fairway or not. Snack bar closed. Lots of marks in greens. Signature par 3 no longer is over water. Pace of play was good, started as a single and caught up to 3some ahead of me. Joined them and still had no no delays. Right on the 4 hour mark for time.
First “luxury” experience in Vegas was great! Excellent pace of play, green fairways, gps on carts, rakes at bunkers again, very forgiving course when you hit it on target. If you miss right or left, chances are you are donating your ball to the desert environment. Par 3 2nd hole definitely the signature hole, with an island green over a small cut out canyon. All grass huge practice facility. Greens were firm.
