This was the first course I played in the San Luis Obispo County. I think I was 11 years old at the time. The course has grown a bit and the course conditions is one of the best 9 hole courses I've seen.

It has been a local favorite for as long as I can remember. The addition to powered carts has brought more golfers in and it’s one of the busiest courses in the area due to the close proximity of down town SLO but also it has that fast rate of play for the person that wants to get a quick game in on a busy schedule. The only other course in the city limits is a member’s only country club so the public looking for a game close by come to Laguna Lake. I enjoy playing rounds at this course whenever I'm in the area visiting friends.

This is perhaps my favorite 9 hole course I have ever played. Its view of the Morro Bay Rock, the bay area and surrounding enjoinment is peaceful. The course is relatively flat. Holes 4 and 5 have some dips and hills which add a little variety to the rest of the holes being level. There are 2 water hazards, one on hole 3 with a small pond and hole 6 where you will shoot over tall fox tails that block your view to the green adding a little mystery about where you landed until you get around to see it which adds a little touch of excitement on that hole.

The layout is very unique making it one that you will remember playing and will no doubt want to play it again for the low $4.00 more to play a second 9 hole round.

The course maintenance is perhaps the best I have ever seen for a 9 hole course. From the tee boxes down the fairways onto the greens is all lush with healthy grass.

The staff at the Pro Shop is friendly and informative. The Pro Shop itself is well stocked with nice quality merchandise at decent prices.

The practice green is small but effective enough to do what you need to do as long as there are only a couple practicing at a time.

The only thing that I saw that needs improvements was the Driving Range. I’m not sure how they retrieve some of the balls I was smashing out past 270 yards with some of the vegetation overgrowth but its driving fairway is very bare. I’m not sure but it’s very possible an environmental issue as to why it has not been renovated. There is a lot of protected wildlife in this area so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the reason.

This course is one of my favorites on the Central Coast. The fairways prove challenging while the greens prove fast and interesting.

The long holes are great with a breathtaking view all around. This is like playing golf in the great outdoors where you won't see much development or houses lined down the fairways. There is a vineyard and during the wine season will tempt the wine enthusiasts to travel around the area for the largest wine tour this country has.

The rolling fairways, the elevated greens, the water hazards, and the surrounding view make this one of my favorite courses. The staff is friendly and very polite with a hint of interest in what their clients have on their minds. Not like most Pro Shops where you don't get a conversation without starting it yourself. I was interested in new spikes and wanted my normal type to have them pull them right out and along with another type they said has proven to be even better and last longer. I took their advice and tried the new ones out to be very happy with their recommendation.

I would take anyone to this course without doubt that their experience will be as good as mine. I have played this course countless of times and will continue to play it satisfied.

This course is beautiful and can use some serious improvement with the upkeep of the fairways. Your tee shots will not go as far as you would like them too but that just makes it more of a challenge to pick the right club for the job each stroke.

Their is alot of wildlife on this course like most of them courses in this county you will find all kinds of different ones. If you enjoy the idea like I do being able to golf with animals about as you play your game then this is no doubt a course to play.

The staff is firendly but the club house could use some new things to keep the players interested in more then just the price of green fees.

The slopes of this course will challenge your ability to put the ball in the right spot. Good course for the price and will continue to play there for years to come.

The fairways are pretty tough under the grass with a more then a fair share of bare spots. If you don't mind making your clubs shoot sparks then this is a good course for you. I perfer to drop my ball back onto grass covered areas. The soil on this course is very tough almost adobe like and after a heavy rain it will create under water grass puddles on the fairways and more then normal amount of the greens.

Wind is also a challenge out here since it runs thru the SLO Valley you can get some very strong wind gusts and will no doubt challenge your ability to on those long shots to the green.

Over all this is a great course that is the newest of the 3 County Courses and is looking better and better each time I play it. The grass conditions and browness of the fairways can't be blamed on the course keeps in most cases. Soil and water costs is more sutible for such reasons.

This course is pretty much the course I learned to play from. Its well maintained. Out of the 3 County Courses this one his one has the best upkeep of them all.
