Played Oaks/ Lakes on 4/19/25. The Oaks was in such bad shape I thought I was getting pranked! Fairways were unmowed and the grasss was so thick and filled with weeds you could lose a ball in the fairway. The greens hadn't been mowed in days as there were white flowers sprouting up in random spots. Rock solid tee boxes, no sand in bunkers. We nearly left after the third hole, what a sh-t hole.
The Lakes was better and in the range of what you should expect.

Good thing we had a Golf Moose 2 for 1. I can't imagine paying full price for that course.

This course is my last resort when playing with the kids. I'd never consider it when wanting to play a serious game.

I've played this course twice before and have usually found it reasonably priced and easy to get on. I kind of like the quirky layout so when I couldn't get on a course closer to home on short notice I booked a Saturday tee time here. When I arrived I was informed by the proshop that there was a Men's club tournament and they would page me for check in. My 8:25 tee time turned into an 8:45 tee time, a 20 minute delay is not a big problem for me but it got worse from there. If you have never played here before, I must warn you that holes 2&3 are back to back par 3s and it can back up. Well back up it did! I counted 4 groups waiting to tee off on the number 2 & 3 tee boxes. It took us 1:45 from teeing off on #1 to teeing off on number 4! I played with 2 of the men's club members and they were embarrased when they noticed that one of the groups in front of us was two holes behind. I had to use my cell phone to call the proshop and they were completely oblivious to the backup. They sent a marshall out and he came to our tee box and b.s.ed with several members and did nothing to speed up the groups in front of us. Once we got of #4 we played at a reasonable pace until we hit # 14, another par 3 where it got backed up again. We had to wait on every tee box from that point forward again. As it ended up, we left the course after playing only 16 holes. I had to be somewhere & 5.5 hours to complete 16 holes was pathetic. We never saw a marshall for the rest of the day.

I'll grant you that the Santa Ana winds were blowing and conditions were a little tougher than usual. But 5.5 hours for 16 holes is completely unforgivable. Does the management @ Riverview think thier only purpose is to take golfers money and put them on the #1 tee? What a joke!

Played 11/26/05, was the only place I could get a tee time because I booked late for a Holiday weekend. Condition of course was OK, considering it's a Muni. I play other courses in this $ range that are better though. Pace of play was horrible, 2:45 for 9 holes! I expected to see SOME level of the Marshalls attempting to manage pace of play... didn't see a single Marshall all day! Pace of play was so bad, I went back to hole #1 thru 5(which was wide open) after taking 35 minutes to play hole #10. I was running out of daylight so left after playing 15 holes.
