Played Wed. 04-25-06. Wilson still needs at least 2 weeks to recover from punching. I failed to check my trusty greenskeeper.org to see how long it had been since the punch, or else I would have played elsewhere. Everything else, including pace of play, was great. With the exception of playing as a rabbit, I have never played here in 3.5 hours. Great pace yesterday! It almost made me forget about the horrid greens.

Played 9/9. Easy to get out as a single at 9 am on a Friday morning. Always a nice track to work on the stray driver but I was very dissapointed with the marshmallow greens. Put away the ProV's because you could hit low top flites into these things and they'll still hold. Also makes putting a chore when you have to make knee high pendulum swings just to hit a 25 footer. PLEASE CUT YOUR GREENS AND STOP OVERWATERING THEM!

Played on 06-28 as a single walk-on at 4:35 PM. No problem getting through a few groups here and there to finish in 3 hours. Beautiful scenery and course, yet too many expensive homes scaring you into hitting it right down the middle which is a must for much of the back nine. Bouncy and fast fairways. Receptive, speedy greens. My only complaints were in the overwatered or poorly drained wet areas near the drainage grates in the fairways and on several of the fringes/roll up areas. Many perfect approach shots which should have bounced on for a green in regulation would die short in the muddy mush. Great drives in the fairway would also lead to a muddy lie. I suggest a super twi-light rate, maybe $30 or $25 after 5PM.

Played on 6-20 for the first time in 4 years. Had not been back since the greens got diseased and the course conditions fell apart. I have to admit, Marshall Canyon has made a nice comeback. Don't expect the fairways to be green everywhere or very fast, but they're moderate to good. Yet, more importantly the greens are back to being nice, rolling nice. Just be careful playing in the PM because they overwatered them a bit just before the twiligit. All in all a fun round.

Played the twi-light on 8-4. Course is in great shape. Unlike other summer conditions, there are no overwatered areas, fairways are lush and fast, greens are medium fast but still hold good shots. Kudos for the staff for bringing back the fairways and keeping this place in great shape.

Played the Resort course as a walk on single, 7:30 AM, $39 to ride on Tuesday 06-22. Offered the Legends course at $25 to ride and I am not sure I got my extra $14 bucks worth. The course played very consistent and nice from tee to green. All fairway lies were perfect and most of the rough was exactly the same. All greens rolled at the same speeds and were very true. The course configuration offers some fun water holes and some interesting risk/reward desert holes. Yet, for the same conditions and not that much worse of a layout, I'd recommend spending the extra 1/2 an hour to play the Legends course. Still, a great deal for Palm Springs.

Played Harding on Friday 6-25, 11:45 AM start as a single. Sent directly to the tee box, finished in 4 hours, 15 minutes. Sure, as any of the LA Municipals, this is not manicured golf, but its still pretty good. Please do not underate the courses because of your poor experience with the marshalls. We should all do our best to keep up and fix our divots, but I usually know what I'm getting in to before I go, and I never expect Griffith to be less than 5, even on the weekday.

Played Friday 3/18 as a single walk on. Arrived at 6 am, hit first drive at 6:46. Finished at 11:00. Course deserves a rating raise. The greens are completely recovered from the very recent aeration and are playing fast even in the morning dew and watering. Unlike a month ago, there was no overwatering anywhere on the course. Rough was even and fairways were bouncy with pretty good speed. One complaint for the starters is to try and get some faster rabbits in the first three groups to set the pace for the rest of the day.

Played today,11-4, and I was lucky enough to go out with the first Twilight group as a single walk-on. Thanks for the rating Greenskeeper, it sure lived up to it, especially the speed of the greens, 3 three-putts. No complaints, all aspects of the course are playing nice!

Played on Thursday 10-2. Twilight is remarkably down to 1 PM and walking is $30. After watching WGC's on Friday I felt like I had just played the same type of greens. Hard to hold and would make a very faint divot. I'm know stimpmeter expert but it was nice to go through what Tour players do at least for a day. Everything everyone has said about the wind is true and then some. It really affects every shot on this course. Will come back very soon to see if I could manage better than a 95. Great 4 hour walking day!

Walked on as a single at noon and sent straight to the tee. 15 of the 18 greens were in very good condition. Fairways were pretty good and the rough was sometimes tough. Pace of play would have been just under 4 hours, but the idiots I was with were learning to play off the blues with little to no etiquette. Keep an eye on your balls!

Got out to Hansen Dam this morning by 7:45 AM this morning as a single. Teed off by 8 AM. The fairways were running pretty well and the greens were in great shape. They were rolling true and medium fast. They made the wide open layout more appealing by having to play closer attention to my short game. I shot an 86 that should have been an 82 without the 3 holes where I 3 putted. Yes, believe it or not this is how good the greens were rolling. I hear they'll be punched near the end of the month so enjoy soon.
